  We stayed here for a week 20th to 27th May 2026. We were not disappointed. This is a lovely hotel. The reception staff are a delight and always so polite and helpful. We had a room on the 2nd floor with balcony which overlooked the street. The room was very modern , large double bed and supplied with a fridge , a kettle and tea/coffee. A complimentary large bottle of water was left in the room each day and also complimentary beer and soft drinks in the fridge. Bathroom had a very good shower and always plenty of hot water.There was a good choice of food for breakfast including bacon and eggs, fruit, cheese, cold meats etc.The hotel is situated in a nice area of tree lined street. 10 minute walk to the beach and 15 minutes or so to the harbour and old town.We were on a package holiday with Tui. The coach was unable to take us to the hotel which is on a narrow street so we were dropped off nearby and had to find our own way to the hotel...(the driver's instructions were not very helpful).All in all we had a great holiday and really enjoyed staying at Angela Downtown. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would love to return there one day.

  We stayed at this hotel whilst running in Rhodes Marathon. The location for where we needed to be was perfect. About a 10 minute walk down to the Town Hall square. It was also only a 10-15 minute walk to Old Town. The hotel itself was exactly what we wanted. Open welcoming reception area and staff.Our bedroom was clean and just what needed. The housekeeping staff were great and friendly every time we saw them! The added bonus of this hotel which we thought was fantastic was the complimentary drinks in our fridge, which were topped up daily. This included water, soft drinks and a local beer. Breakfast was plentiful, laid out in the usual buffet style. The pool is around the back of the hotel and access is via the side pathway. There is a sign directing you. We only spent a couple of hours at the pool as that wasn’t the purpose of our trip. I would estimate there was only around 12 sunbeds around the pool, and if you get someone a bit selfish who plonks themself in the middle of a set of 3 it makes it a bit more awkward for couples… but you could always drag a sunbed around them! 😆From what we saw there were only maybe a few people who stayed by the pool for a long time, most people only came down for an hour or so then left again. The sunbeds are mattresses on slightly raised beds only a few inches off the floor, so while the mattress was comfy, it may be tricky for those who struggle to get down that low.We would definitely stay here again!

  OK but needs maintenance, staff are all 5*

  The hotel was clean . Our room was kept very well by Marta, thankyou. The breakfast buffet was extensive and the ladies work hard to keep it clean and well stocked. Recepionists very helpful, too.This hotel probably was very smart a while ago. Currently, the rooms need some maintenance, so I guess reviews vary according to the room you get. Our bathroom door had sagged, the window didnt close properly and there was only the handheld part of the shower. ( but plenty of hot water). Rooms facing the busy road definitely get some noise from traffic but this can be kept out by closing the patio window. The pool beds are in a very poor state and there are no umbrellas which are really needed as there is very little shade and this area gets very hot. We booked direct and got a very good deal so feel we got what we paid for but it is not a luxury hotel.The location is excellent , walkable to Old Town, bus station, beaches and there are restaurants and bars very close by. The cake and coffee shop opposite called Pure does excellent takeaway coffee only 2.5 euro and great cakes.

  Great hotel, great location, great staff, great stay!

  My friend and I stayed here for 7 nights in April 2026 and could not have been happier with the rooms, the hotel location and, most importantly, the professionalism, helpfulness and friendliness of ALL the staff.We both had rooms with balconies on to the busy front street. We were not bothered by the noise during the day (there's a school at the end of the road and it gets particularly busy around drop-off and pick-up times) but rather enjoyed watching the traffic chaos and not being part part of it. At night time the street is not busy and there was no noise to disturb sleep.The best bits:1. The location is great - it seemed everything we wanted to see and do was within a short distance depending on which way we turned out of the hotel.2. Breakfast was superb. I'm quite a picky eater but there was a great selection of foods to choose from. Breakfast was most definitely worth getting up for.3. Complimentary water (replenished daily) and a selection of complimentary drinks in the fridge on arrival (my friend had hers replenished , I did not).4. Fantastic waterfall shower (hard to get out of), spacious bathroom and great quality complimentary hand soap, shower gel and body lotion.5. Daily room service from friendly people.6. Comfortable king size bed and great pillows and cushions.7. Plenty of electrical sockets (and in the right places).8. Good tea/coffee making facilities.I didn't make use of the pool, gym or TV so am unable to comment on those facilities.We had a late return flight and were able to leave our cases at the hotel (shower and toilet facilities were also available).Worth Knowing: Not all transfer buses drop off outside the hotel (fairly narrow street) so we did have to walk with our cases about 300m from the drop-off - not a problem for us, but it could be for some.And, finally, the receptionists Despima and Danae were superb.... just lovely, friendly, unfailingly good-natured and helpful people who enhanced our stay.Would I return to Hotel Angela Downtown? In a heartbeat!!!

  Very sceptical about visiting this hotel after reading all the negative reviews THEY ARE ALL RUBBISH don't believe any of it ,don't know what's up with people and what they expect I'm a seasond traveller and this without doubt one of the best city hotels at this budget I've ever been to ,it just ticks all the boxes Not many hotel's provide FREE water, tins of beer, soda,sprite every night !!!!Breakfast was perfect alot better than most Greek hotel offerings, perfect location 10 minutes from the old town !!whats not to like I will be back
