    Excellent family run complex

    rating17 May 2026

What can say about this lovely complex, even though we arrived late we had the warmest welcome. Unfortunately easyJet didn’t inform the owner that my mum needed ground floor accommodation but Glynis & Caroline went above & beyond to make sure we had a ground floor apartment nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be going back as the service was second to none definitely first class.

Anixis Hotel & Apartments (Ialyssos, Rhodes)RLAn Authentic, Welcoming Gem on the North CoastAuthentic, peaceful, and extraordinarily welcoming base for a traditional Greek island holiday, this small, family-run property is one of the best choices in the Ialyssos/Ixia area. ### The Standout: Unmatched HospitalityThe absolute crown jewel of Anixis is the staff and ownership. Run by a dedicated family (with standout praise consistently going to Glynis, Stamatis, and the tireless Caroline), guests are genuinely welcomed like old friends. The hospitality here goes far beyond standard customer service—they take the time to know their guests, offer incredible local advice, and create a warm, community feel around the property. For solo travelers and families alike, this level of care makes an immediate impact. ### Accommodation & RoomsThe property consists of standard studios and two-bedroom apartments, making it highly functional for couples, groups, or families of up to four. The Style: The rooms are traditionally styled and can feel a bit dated or "no-frills" to travelers used to modern boutique hotels. The Reality: What they might lack in modern aesthetics, they more than make up for in functionality and upkeep. The rooms are spotlessly clean and maintained daily to a very high standard. Amenities: Each unit features a basic but incredibly handy kitchenette (stocked with essentials like a mini-fridge, kettle, toaster, pots, and pans), a private bathroom with a surprisingly powerful shower, and a private balcony or patio—most of which open up to lovely views of the central gardens. Note: Air conditioning is available but typically carries a standard local surcharge (around €8/day), which is common for self-catering apartments in Greece. ### Facilities & GroundsThe Pools: The central courtyard features a wonderfully clean, rectangular outdoor swimming pool framed by plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas. For those traveling with young ones, there is a separate, shallow children’s pool safely attached to the corner. The Gardens: The grounds are beautifully landscaped and meticulously well-tended, offering a lush, quiet oasis of palm trees and vibrant flowers that shuts out the noise of the outside world. The Bar & Lounge: The on-site bar is the social hub of the property. It serves great morning breakfasts, light bites, and snacks throughout the day, and shifts into a relaxed evening lounge space complete with a pool table and outdoor seating in the garden. ### Location & LogisticsAnixis hits the sweet spot between peaceful seclusion and easy accessibility:The Beach: A breezy, 5-to-10-minute walk (around 550–650 meters) brings you straight to the long, pebbly stretch of Ialyssos Beach. It's a fantastic spot if you prefer a quieter seafront away from the massive resort crowds. Convenience: There is a well-stocked supermarket right next door for all your self-catering essentials, and a local bus stop sits just outside the property. Exploration: It is brilliantly positioned for exploring. It sits roughly 6–7 km from the historic heart of Rhodes Old Town and the Palace of the Grand Master, and is just a short 10-to-15-minute drive (approx. 7.5 km) from Rhodes International Airport (Diagoras), making arrival and departure seamless. Free private parking is also available on-site if you rent a vehicle. ## The VerdictAnixis Apartments offers exceptional value for money. It provides a peaceful, clean, and functional retreat with a distinctively authentic Greek feel. It’s the kind of place that captures people's hearts, evidenced by the staggering number of repeat customers who return year after year just to experience the warmth of its hosts.Ideal for: Budget-conscious travelers, families, and anyone seeking a relaxed, self-catering holiday with world-class hospitality as a base to explore northern Rhodes.

    One night on Rhodes.

    rating23 Oct 2025

I stayed here for one night on my way to Karpathos but spent part of day here on my way back from Tilos, waiting to be collected to go to the airport in Sept.24. I also spent some time here on my way back from Karpathos, this is the main reason for my review. On the last night of my holiday in Karpathos I was not very well,my stomach was of it. I was collected from the hotel at 5.30am and had a 4hr40min crossing on a ferry to Rhodes. Wasn't really looking forward to it. I was picked up by a pre arranged Taxi at Rhodes port and taken back to the Anixis to wait until I was collected and taken to the airport for a late night flight. I was feeling rough so asked the owner Glynnis if she had a room I could use for the duration until my collection time. Not only did she oblige but also contacted Olympic, who I booked the holiday through,to see if they would stand the cost. They wouldn't but she only charged me 30euros. I also asked if there was a chemist near by, she said there was and asked what I needed, I told her , she said follow me , we went through a back door to a mini market, which is part of her hotel and on a shelf behind the counter was what I needed. It was her husband running the mini market,so I was introduced to him and her sons who also work in the hotel. I then went to my room and got some much needed sleep. But what lovely people they are. I can't praise them enough. They made me feel comfortable when I needed it.The room was a basement one but it was all I needed, it was spotless and the bed was more comfortable than the one in Karpathos. It's a good bar and they do food as well, there were plenty of tables and chairs. The only downside for me was it's up a side street off a very busy main road, which you have to cross to get to the beach. As I like to visit the smaller quieter Aegean Islands,I have a feeling I'll be seeing the Anixis again.

    We’ll be back!

    rating10 Oct 2025

Just home from our first holiday in Rhodes. So pleased we chose the Anixis. Our flight to Rhodes was delayed by 9 hours, and we finally arrived at the hotel at 4am. Glynis (the owner) had organised for George and David to wait up for us and to show us to our apartment. What incredible service. Caroline (the manager) cooked us breakfast in the morning. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. Everything is immaculately clean. Glynis knows all her guests by name and ensures that everyone is happy, a huge contrast with experiences in larger hotels and characterless chain hotels. Thank you Glynis and team for ensuring we had a wonderful holiday. We’ll be back!
