  Absolutely awful!!! 5 day break which was a good thing as would of checked out if longer.Food not edible and the same each day/ night with only a couple of option spaghetti bolognaise and one other dish wish melon or tinned fruit for dessert.Drinks even worse- non alcoholic were self service pump which was hit and miss if it worked and when it did work the soda was warm and flat! Alcoholic consisted of a house beer, house wine and then 4 types of spirits that was 4 bottles left out on the bar top to help yourself and once it was gone it was gone.No lobby bar as advertised as this was being used as a laundry and ironing station. Nothing like the advertised pictures!Room clean but it’s better you don’t look at mattress condition!!Toilet leaked, shower leaked, tub didn’t work, wires exposed fr sockets. No safe in rooms with a random safe on a stairwell!   Terrible. One and the same person in the bar, kirchen and reception with terrible hygienic habits. Rooms dirty with lot of broken equipment.

  Review of Asterias Bay Hotel – I am personally evaluating the condition of the hotel and room no. 113, where we stayed from August 6, 2025 to August 13, 20251) Discrepancy between hotel category and tourist tax paymentThe hotel was designated as a three-star hotel in the contract, but when paying the tourist tax, a rate of €2/night was charged, corresponding to a 1-2 star standard. Note: A 3-star hotel in Greece falls under the €5/night rate.2) Toilet malfunction and inability to repairThe toilet in the room was constantly leaking. To prevent the leak, I had to repeatedly dismantle and adjust the float. The main water shut-off valve is not working – it is corroded and blocked with limescale. The hotel staff was informed, but the fault was not repaired.3) Hygienic condition of room no. 113The sink and toilet were dirty, the shower was in very poor condition, and the shower curtain and shower stall were moldy at the bottom.4) Lack of advertised amenities – televisionAccording to the description, the family room was supposed to have a television. There was no television in the room – only a broken remote control was available.5) Lack of functional internet connectionThe family room was supposed to have functional Wi-Fi. Although we received the access data, there is no signal in room no. 113, so it is not possible to use the connection.6) Air conditioning failuresFrom August 8, 2025, there were repeated and constant air conditioning failures throughout the hotel. The outside temperature was around 38 °C, which meant that the temperature in the room rose enormously. When the air conditioning was turned on, it turned off again after just a few minutes, and the outage lasted for several hours. The same scenario then repeated itself throughout the day.7) No electrical outlet near the bed – health riskI use a positive airway pressure mask to treat diagnosed sleep apnea while I sleep. There is no electrical outlet near the bed – there are only loose wires. The nearest working sockets are about 2–3 meters away. The staff refused to provide an extension cord, saying that I should buy one myself or move the bed. A room change was not offered, and when I personally asked about this option, it was flatly refused by the hotel staff.8) Meals – not up to all-inclusive standardThe meals served are mostly semi-prepared, often with leftovers from previous meals. Drinks (beer, wine, soft drinks) are regularly unavailable. There is no service at the pool bar, guests are forced to serve themselves.9) Misleading information about the beachPresented: pebble beach 200 m from the hotel with parasols and sun loungers for a fee. In reality, neither free nor paid facilities are available on the beach. Both the representative and the hotel reception refused to address the situation.10) Dangerous access to the poolThere is only one stainless steel ladder, which constantly comes loose from its mounting and poses a risk of injury.11) Overall technical and operational condition of the hotelThe hotel's equipment is outdated, but the main problem is its lack of maintenance and functionality. Complaints from other guests (from at least 6-7 rooms) confirmed the same problems. Instead of rest and relaxation, we were forced to constantly deal with technical and operational problems.12) Forced additional costsIn order to ensure a quality vacation, we were forced to rent a car, leave the hotel, and pay for our own meals outside the hotel.13) Inadequate room size and categoryBased on the travel contract, we were supposed to have a Family room (room size approx. 25 m² + extra beds). We were accommodated in room no. 113, approx. 15 m2 in size, without extra beds. This means that we were not provided with the Family room we had purchased. The receptionist refused to change the room, saying that no other rooms were available.14) Sports activities at an additional costThe hotel description listed the following activities: table tennis in the hotel, billiards in the hotel, water sports on the beach (provided by a third party). I can confirm that billiards is not part of the Asterias Bay hotel's inventory. As an avid billiards player, I was very disappointed by this discovery. The table tennis table is in an absolutely dilapidated condition.

  This hotel is for very undemanding people who are looking for real peace and relaxation and do not need an animation program or theater around.As for the room amenities - everything was fine. Bed, wardrobe, fridge, air conditioning, wi-fi, toilet with shower - what more could you ask for. Yes, the amenities are dated, but I don't go on vacation to spend time in a room.As for food and drink - better average. The meals were repetitive, but there were several options to choose from, so with a little imagination you could create a different meal every day (but in the heat I especially appreciated the addition of vegetables, feta and watermelon).In the absence of the staff behind the bar, you could pour yourself any drink and beer you wanted, but it was also on tap in the dining area.The staff could speak German and English and a little Czech as well.There were shops nearby with basic necessities and food. Great tavernas that cooked really well and at a ridiculous price (compared to tourist destinations). However, a person flying here must expect noise from the resort next door and from planes, as the airport is a few miles from Theologos. However, after one day we absolutely did not mind that.The size of the accommodation is also a big advantage. Due to the small capacity and the concentration of people at the hotel, you don't have to worry about not having a sunbed by the pool.The beach was really a few meters from the hotel, pebble beach. In the morning you could go to the left part, which in the afternoon was used for kiting, but you could also go to the right part, where there was always everything up to 5 people, so you have privacy and quiet.+ Friendly atmosphere, smiling staff, quiet location, bus stop nearby, taverns with program, bars, shops- not so much a minus as a weakness is the age of the equipmentPS: if you treat the staff with respect and let the maids 1-2€ here and there, as well as the staff behind the bar, they will do anything for you.

  Was put in this hotel due to a cancelled flight and not by choice. However, If you want basic and cheap then this is your hotel. The beds are all single and hard, with worn mattresses on a wooden base. All the furniture is out dated. The bathroom is tiny and has timescale and dirt in places that should be clean (see photos) The air con, is noisy and comes on and goes off when it feels like it. The curtains in the room, although are nice are more like a hessian than proper curtains so when the sun rises so do you. The whole place needs a refurb and a proper clean and then would be a great little hotel as it’s in a lovely area. From the outside it looks nice till you walk through the door. It has a pool but never used it. The food is okay …. Edible but the out juice is vile. The one thing the hotel has going for it is the staff as they are lovely.
