  Nice outside, to improve the rooms a lot

  Solutions just a few minutes drive from the beaches of Lefkos. Outside the beautiful and well maintained structure with free parking. The studios unfortunately require much greater maintenance and care. Our room number 8 on the first floor has a terrace overlooking the sea, unfortunately not for exclusive use and this especially in the last few days, has created problems because of unfashioned neighbors who despite having another terrace for exclusive use every morning at 8 am woke up dragging chairs and tables from the NS side and having breakfast with friends of the sandwich downstairs without any education for those who were still resting. The rooms have a minimal kitchenette, electric plate resting on the burners to be connected each time with a short, rusty wire that works halfway. For two just two knives, two teaspoons, two forks, one spoon, all unpaired. Few utensils and poorly maintained, old stuff and poorly put even from the point of view of cleaning both in the kitchen and in the bathroom. We held up the shower with a clothespin, otherwise the water did not come out of the shower head (attached photo). We are people who adapt a lot, but because old reviews reported the same things we thought had been fixed. We're really talking about low expenses and more attention to checking that the rooms are ok and everything works. We also have tourist facilities in Naples and would never dream of delivering them in those conditions. In any case we did not want to emphasize things that had to be taken for granted, having been handed the room so. We have adapted, coming up with solutions. But we would like to emphasize that although the price by booking privately was honest, some things must be held differently. Clean and good quality towels and sheets. There are no mosquito nets and in the evening many insects and even cats enter if you do not close the wooden shutters. I mean, for the time we spent in the house, okay.   Great vacation

  We spent here a great vacation. The place is really great, peaceful, on good spot not far from beach, restaurants and shop and real great value for the money it costs. Together we had the whole upper floor for ourselves only, so we enjoyed those supersize balconies with wine atop to protect from sun rays. The rooms are smaller, but definitely you will find there everything you need. There is no A/C upstairs as there is no need for it. After first night you will realize it is really good that wind keeps you cool even with window shutters closed. Room service was okay, no need to complain, new towels and sheets every two days. Only fun was to observe cleaning lady's struggle with ants. She had her methods how to get rid of them, but next day they manage to make another way in, but that was no real problem. Just a need to keep open food and bread in the fridge, but it wasn't bothersome at all.Owner is easygoing and very friendly person, for whom nothing is problem. There is also wifi available, but we had difficulties to acces it using a Nokia E6. We got even free use of in-room safes as well.There is definitely no problem with parking as in backyard there is plenty of space to do that.As we had car for whole our stay we rarely did walks for shopping or so, but it is just because we used to go further than. There is a shop, beach and a at least two restaurants within 5 minutes walk.So if you look for valueable experience and some cozy place to stay for more than reasonable price come to Blue Horizon Studios in Lefkos, you will not regret.

  Excellent accommodation

  We stayed at Blue Horizon Studios in 2005 and again in 2009. We were very impressed with the peaceful location very close to a quiet beach, and without being overlooked by any other properties. The accommodation on offer is comfortable, clean and very well suited to a relaxing self-catering holiday. The nearby settlement of Lefkos is close enough to be walkable and so a number of very good tavernas selling authentic local food, and car hire facilities are within easy reach. It's an excellent base from which to explore the picturesque island of Karpathos. If you love the less developed Aegean islands, but have not been to Karpathos, it's well worth a visit. There are numerous unspoilt beaches around the coast, with rugged mountain scenery and traditional villages inland. Mesochori is absolutely beautiful, and the lands beyond Olympos at the northern end provide an opportunity to roam amongst the remains of ancient settlements. The main town is a pleasant contrast - providing all the amenities one would expect but retaining its authentic character. Travel from the UK isn't always so easy - it necessitates a change at Athens (and a couple of years ago was temporaily not possible due to the rescheduling of flights),but an early morning flight out over the Aegean islands is certainly a breathtaking experience - and a trip to Karpathos and Blue Horizon Studios specifically is well worth it!
