All types of families are welcome

    rating29 Dec 2025

We travelled to the Hotel as a family, together with a child with a disability. From the very beginning, we were met with great kindness and understanding from the staff — especially the reception team. The receptionists were extremely friendly, helpful, and genuinely engaged. Any issues related to our stay with a child were resolved very efficiently — in no more than an hour.Unfortunately, I must exclude the head of the reception team from this praise. She was rather atypical and noticeably less empathetic compared to the rest of the staff. Thankfully, this did not affect the overall quality of service, which remained at a very high level. The food deserves special recognition. It was delicious, varied, and prepared with great care. The head chef was a very warm and friendly person, and the overall standard of the cuisine was excellent. The choice of dishes was enormous — almost overwhelming in a positive way. I believe everyone will find something they truly enjoy. The restaurant staff and waitresses were exceptionally kind, friendly, and always willing to help. The hotel is located in a charming area with very easy and convenient access to the beach, which was a big advantage for our family. The beach itself offers only limited attractions — it is clearly not a very popular tourist destination and feels more local-oriented. However, the resort itself makes up for this with a wide range of on-site facilities and activities. When it comes to children, the selection of attractions for very young kids could be slightly larger. That said, one of the hotel’s greatest strengths is its impressive number of swimming pools. They cater to everyone — from newborns to advanced swimmers.Unfortunately, the biggest downside of our stay was the room location. We were assigned a room facing the main pool, and every evening from 8:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., the noise level was extremely high, making it impossible to sleep. For families with children who go to bed early, this can be a serious issue. I must admit that I barely got any proper sleep during our two-week stay. I believe we simply chose the wrong room.On a very positive note, the cleanliness of the rooms was outstanding. Housekeeping staff were wonderful — even though they did not speak English at all, they did everything they could to ensure our comfort, and the rooms were spotless at all times. To sum up, Hotel is a very welcoming and open place, ideal for a family holiday. I would highly recommend it, especially for its excellent service, outstanding food, and an impressive variety of swimming pools. The only thing to consider carefully is the room selection, particularly when travelling with children. Needs some TLC (Family holiday)

    rating04 Nov 2025

Family holiday COULD be such a lovely hotel. We spent 11days here as a family of 6 in two rooms. The hotel rooms were ok water bottles in room on arrival, the cleaners are really good in every day and change towels etc when needed. My daughter has coeliac disease and the lovely lady serving pizza Joanna I think she was called helped me everyday thank you so much. The sun loungers are needing replaced as do the stairs out pool. A few areas need a bit of TLC. We not fussy at all but my gosh I had a bad back from day one the beds need new mattresses. My kids struggled to sleep on the camp bed and sofa bed. There is nothing in the area except a stone beach which you would just need to wear swim shoes on. We visited Rhodes old town, Falaraki, and Lindos. We used the buses which are at the top of the road 5minute walk once you know the way. The food is typical for all inclusive. We went and ate out a few days while we were away as food was bit repetitive. My kids absolutely loved the kittens and the dog that visited and we fed them daily with cat food from the local supermarket. I think the rat catching boxes need hidden and secured a bit better I’d be worried the cats ate it as it was next to them. I reported to receptionist. The entertainment was ok. The amphitheatre was closed whole time we were there little disappointed. Entertainment good for younger kids with kids disco etc. we had a massage while we were there which was really nice. You got tickets to get pool towels, added bonus and could change them every few days. The staff at the hotel try hard but I think the above people (Owners)need to spend a bit of money fixing the place up it could be so much better. Maybe few more pool tables and updated arcade and better shop on site maybe a chill out area for teens. The kids pool area seemed good. The quality of drinks, alcohol and soft drinks need addressed but this could be down to end of season. Watered down to last. I don’t drink much on holiday but by last few days hardly drank anything. Ate out last few days due to limited options. We loved Rhodes but wouldn’t come back to this area. Not as good as I was expecting

    rating04 Nov 2025

Transfer to hotel was 30 minutes. Check in took ten minutes then shown to room. Food was available for late arrivals. The hotel is in a remote location Went to the beach once very stoney, pools shoes a must. sea was lovey and warm Room was OK two double beds garden view no issues.Food. Repetaive but that's all inclusive. Most food was Luke warm. Finding a clean dry plate was a challenge most were wet or dirty.Pools were freezing once you got in you get used to it I suppose. Kids loved the water slides. A lot of the sunbeds were broken. When we were there the pool areas around the sun beds were never cleaned and lots of empty cups were laying around. The spa was OK our kids had children's massage. We used the indoor pool but found lots of flies in the water and it felt slimey so didn't stay in long at all. Animation team as it was last week of season only one guy left doing his best.no kids club looked like it had not been used in a long time. Most of the staff were OK the guy in the cantina bar (van) was always pleasant some of the other bar staff not so much. Cleaners came every day clean towels once in a week.Cats all over the place most were friendly but all had fleas. On the whole would say it was OK wouldn't have it as four stars though my opinion Probably wouldn't return due to location and how cold pools were Blue Sea Resort Collection, Other at Blue Sea Holiday Village, responded to this review Dear rubya936,Thank you for choosing to stay at Blue Sea Holiday Village and for bringing your review to our attention.Your useful remarks help us become better. We would be delighted to have the chance to welcome you again the near future.Kind Regards,Blue Sea Team

    Honest review

    rating30 Oct 2025

The hotel has some really friendly and helpful staff, ladies on reception couldn’t do enough for you, the restaurant staff were welcoming each morning and in the evening there was a nice guy who always helped us get a table for 8. The cantina bar guy was welcoming felt sorry for him as he was so apologetic when the beer stopped then the soft drinks as well but he was always happy to see you. Cleaners were always friendly, entertainment guy did a good job but the staff in the snack area really let them down. The pizza guy & bar staff were so unfriendly & rude to both kids & adults, and some of the cooking staff in the restaurant didn’t look like they liked there job, when my husband asked for a fried egg as the tray was empty it was thrown at him on to his plate! Cleanliness: Our room was clean and beds & towels were changed a few times in our stay so can’t complain. Pool areas were never cleaned down dirty marks on floors for days and some dirty sunbeds just all needed a hose down! Overall other areas of the hotel were nice & clean like reception, dining hall, jungle bar. Food: the pizzas & spaghetti Bolognese at the pool bar was nice, & patisserie. Dinning hall there was always something you could find to eat just some of it was not always warm! Local Area: nothing around and walked into Afandou and it was like a ghost town! Taxis are very expensive €30 each way for a large taxi 9min drive to Falaraki €20 for a small one. We didn’t use the bus but it wasn’t far to walk to the bus stop. The beach was not far but not very inviting. Pools: kids enjoyed the kids pool and were plenty of sun beds, large pool by blue sea bar was very cramped with lots of broken beds but I am guessing this is end of season so not replacing them till next year. This hotel has potential to be so much better and with improvements would be worth the 4* but for us we would not return.
