Location

    My husband and I were wondering how anyone could leave a negative review for this hotel. Perhaps some people do it simply to harm the business.We visited the hotel at the beginning of May, shortly after it had opened, and despite being in its early days of operation, everything was excellent.Several of our friends had already visited this hotel, and it was also our first time visiting Rhodes.The food was outstanding. We were especially impressed by the chef, who took the time to come out and speak with us. He was always smiling, friendly, and welcoming.The rooms were spotless and impeccably maintained. The staff were friendly, professional, and always greeted us with a smile. The reception team was warm, helpful, and highly professional.Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rhodes.

    What makes this hotel so wonderful is the staff. All, including gardeners, cleaners, reception, spa, managerial, beach, bar and waiting staff are so friendly and all appear happy in their work. They couldn’t have been more welcoming, especially Hannah and our welcome drink was a perfect start to our holiday. Nothing is too much trouble. The other things that are good about this hotel is that there are only 44 rooms, peace and quiet, no loud music, shouting or rowdy behaviour. Everything is kept spotlessly clean and the rooms thoroughly attended to twice a day. We went for R&R and certainly got it. Whether by the pool or on the beach. The restaurant is good and the themed evenings a success. I don’t want to detract from the greatness of this hotel, but a few points to note are that the wooden divides and roofs on the terraces to the rooms are rotting in places and the paint peeling - not 5 star standard. The food in the restaurant is exquisitely presented, but some dishes were lacking flavour and had poor seasoning and some portions too big for fine dining. The breakfasts were good with a large range of options - the fruit being a particular feature. The egg options not quite so good with the eggs florentine having too thick brioche bread and the poached egg being stone cold and not runny and the scrambled egg over done with pools of cream or butter. The chairs on our balcony were not comfortable and there was nowhere to sit comfortably outside if you wanted room service meals. Sun loungers on the balcony would also be welcome - there is plenty of room for them. All in all though, a lovely stay in a fabulous hotel.

    No Longer a 5 Star Experience

    Previously written a well deserved glowing review of Boutique 5 although some years have passed from our last visit. Terribly disappointed with our most recent stay mainly due to lack of ongoing investment in facilities and staff. The hotel is starting to look a little scruffy in the public areas, breakfast was served without the floor being swept from the night before, poor quality coffee (even though the bar has a pretty decent espresso machine), bar staff disinterested, spa not fully operational, no heating control in the steam room, fraying towels. Could just about overlook the above (although it’s certainly not a 5 star experience) however, the rooms are a disgrace. If you’ve booked via a tour operator you’ll be shoehorned into one of the tiny rooms in the block closest to the road entrance. The taps in the bathroom and shower are rusty and leak (the bathroom floor was constantly wet), the bath is so very narrow with taps protruding into the bath it makes it impossible to use safely unless you’re a gymnast. Bed and pillows have seen better days along with the wooden decking on the balcony which appears to be dangerously degraded but overpainted. Also please be aware that SMOKING IS ALLOWED in this hotel so please don’t be surprised if your bedroom smells like an old ashtray. Oh, and other guests are likely to be smoking on the adjacent balconies so unless you want to return from your holiday feeling like a laboratory beagle you may need to use the beach. Do take your wallet with you though as use of the beach cabanas are chargeable. On returning from the beach don’t be surprised to see guests towels hanging from the balconies for the extra chic 5 star image.

    Fantastic spa with Krisa

    Had a wonderful spa experience with Krisa. Full body scrub, massage, facial with scalp massage and aloe Vera body. Body scrub was amazing and left my skin so soft. Massage was wonderful - right pressure, right speed. Facial - perfect. Great products that I also bought to take home!
