    Don't even try

    rating14 Sept 2017

The room wasn't so bad, but it's basic. If you are looking for a NO SLEEPING HOLIDAY then you can stay there. There is no way in earth you can sleep on top of two disco bars with the music up to 5/6 in the morning, it's just imposible. The staff were very nice, i have to say that. The problem is the location and there is no advice on that. Be careful when buying holidays deals. Always check the reviews here on trip advisor. For us was the most disappointed honeymoon ever, total fraud from last minute.com that advertise that under misleading information.

    A total disaster.

We didn't at all get the room we booked. It should be a room with a pentry, toaster, sofa and other things, but all of those rooms were taken. They gave us a water boiler, a sause pan, a hob and some cutlery. Where we should prepare the food and wash up the plates I don't know...maybe in the toilet. Luckily my travel mates knew the owner, so we got rooms at his other hotel, with breakfast, air condition and a safetybox for the same price. Never again!

"To sleep in this hotel you have to be drunk"

    rating03 Sept 2016

When we booked the description stated that the hotel was a "short walk" from nightlife, it could get quite noisy and that from the 15 August "peace and serenity" would return to the area. All of these statements were lies. First, it is not a short walk; we were given a room (2B) above the strip which, second, was ridiculously noisy, even when the door was shut. This prevented us from sleeping. We are not light sleepers but the noise was beyond comprehension. Therefore the air conditioning charge is abhorrent given guests are unable to open the balcony door of a night to get cool air because of the noise. Finally, "peace and serenity" did not return to the area come the 15th August as the email to us implied. We therefore booked the hotel having been given untrue and misleading information. We were unable to sleep at all during the night whilst at the hotel. This really ruined our stay in Rhodes Town as the lack of sleep forced us to sleep in very late and miss out on doing key things we wanted to do.What irritated us most, however, was the response to our complaints by members of staff. On Monday morning following the first night of no sleep, the man on reception laughed when we complained about the noise. He said it was party time and we should just get drunk and enjoy the nightlife. He offered no resolution to our complaint. He assured us the music definitely stopped at 3am. We were reassured of this by two different members of staff at various points during our stay. However the websites/social media pages of the nightclubs/bars on the strip boast they remain open until 5/6am as indeed they did.On Tuesday morning we complained to the female member of staff about the noise again. Again, we were offered no resolution to the issue but told us "it is a problem for everyone". She assured us as it was now 15 August and based on the email you had sent us that there would be no noise that night. When we returned from dinner that evening at midnight "peace and serenity" had not returned to the street. It was loud and noisy as before. We again raised our concerns with the man on reception, who is the most atrocious hotel worker we've ever had the misfortune of meeting. We showed him the email from the hotel and he brushed it aside saying it was wrong, suggested we were only complaining to get things for free and laughed at us. He did finally offer us an alternative hotel but said it was too late to sort it for us anyway. He offered us an alternative room in the hotel. This room was 12B (I think) but either way was directly above the strip, just slightly higher up. The noise in there was equally bad so we stayed in our room. He did however again (infuriatingly) tell us that "to sleep in this hotel you have to be drunk." The treatment we received from staff was also in contradiction to the first emai from the hotel which stated they offered "high service". I asked on several occasions to meet with the manager to discuss our concerns but we were repeatedly told that he was unavailable. I've emailed him three times since we stayed (18/8, 21/8 and 01/09) but he is yet to acknowledge nor reply to my emails.Whilst the rooms are beautiful and comfortable this was the worst hotel we've ever stayed in (and we've been all over the world) due to the misleading advert, the noise and the appalling attitudes of the male member of staff we dealt with. This was far from the "perfect vacation" we were assured.

    Value of money

    rating13 Jul 2016

We stayed here for 6 nights, the room is really nice, very good size for two people, with a balcony which is a plus and a very comfortable bed. Staff is really friendly and welcoming. The only thing is the location as it is just on top of a discotheque and you can hear the music really loud until 5/6 am every day. We didn't really mind as we managed to sleep well but I think it has to be said. Other thing if you want the Air con you've to pay extra but it's really cheap (6€ per day) and we really needed. The cleaning lady is absolutely fantastic and really sweet the same as the guy that is at the reception/bar in the evening. We enjoyed our stay here.
