    Very bad service!!!!!Rude resepsionist

    rating06 Aug 2025

First of all, we had to pay 70€ for each rom, turist taxes witch is fair enough but the resepsionist refused us to pay with card, so we had to take out cash. The cleaning lady is okay and nice, but the resepsionist woman is rude. The food is not great and if you want to buy lunch it is 5€ so we had order wolt for lunch everyday, we asked the staff were we could eat, but still the staff starred at us like we were doing something wrong. Also there is just 10sunbeds and every morning we wake up early to lay down and relax before the sun comes, because it takes a while, then the respsionist lady came over and asked why we were laying here and just was really rude. I would not recommend this hotel if you dont like bad service😇

    Ideally located.

We stayed at the Riviera for seven nights in mid October. The communication prior to our arrival was excellent, any questions we had were answered quickly. The hotel arranged a taxi transfer for us from / to the airport. The hotel is located on the north west tip of Rhodes Town, directly opposite the beach. We had a third floor sea view room affording stunning views across to the Turkish coast, and the magnificent sunsets .Mandraki harbour from where you can take boat trips is an easy 15 minute walk, and the old town a further five minutes. The hotel is B&B only but innumerable bars, restaurants and shops are only minutes away. Yes the hotel is dated, but the accommodation, is spotlessly clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. There are also a pool area and bar. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Riviera for those wanting a relatively inexpensive base to explore Rhodes, with the bonus of amazing views.

    Fine for a short stay

    rating22 Sept 2024

We stayed for 4 nights at Hotel Riviera during our stay at Rhodes. It is well located and ours was a sea facing room with a balcony. So it was really nice to see the sea while sipping our tea on the balcony. It was great to watch the sunset from our balcony. We walked everywhere and all sight seeing places are at walking distance. Our stay included breakfast, which was the usual fare, eggs, cucumber, tomatoes, olives, either spinach or cheese pie and bread and some assortment of sweets and cookies. We are happy with it. A big shout out to Katarina from the kitchen, she was an absolute sweetheart. When we wanted Spinach pie and only cheese pie was available that day, she actually heated us some spinach pie in the oven and packed it for us. I only wish they had more varieties of black tea like earl grey - I just did not like the tea they had. You do have an option of filling water from the bar, if you request for it. There are restaurants and grocery stores at a 5 minute walking distance and lots of shops too.Now for the mediocre part. The hotel is very dated and I would definitely not call it a 4 star hotel, it is more a 3 star hotel. Everything in the room looks like it is from the 70's. No proper plug points and I had a very long phone charging cord and was hence ok. The room itself was basic, but we were fine with it. We requested for a kettle and extra pillows and got it. You may need to go down multiple times if you want anything from the reception, and that could be an annoyance for some, but it did not matter to us at all. The hotel does have a small elevator. The corridors reeked of smoke, I don't know if smoking was permitted there. The room doors close with a loud bang and we could hear every room door in our floor close. You can hear the neighbors in the others rooms too. But overall, we did get a good sleep. The room was pretty clean and we did not ask for cleaning service thru out our stay and just picked up extra towels and soap from the reception. The reception staff are polite and will answer your questions and will book car and taxi for you if needed, but do not expect too much of customer service. The room safe did not work and I heard the others complaining about the same too, and it had some ancient mechanism and I regretted not calling the front desk to make it work, since we got pick pocketed in Lindos, as we carried all our money with us. Overall it was an OK stay and we were fine with it, we had a good stay.

Please treat yourself to a better hotel

    rating01 Jul 2024

My friends and i were very disappoint with this hotel. The staff had a bad attitude. The air condition in our room broke half way into our vacation and when i told the reception, they answered “what can i do about it?”. I eventually got a half broken fan without cover protection. The beds and pillows were stained yellow and brown. The cleaning staff did not clean well. They didn’t refill the toilet paper, we had to go down to the reception and ask for more every day. The bathroom was tiny. The shower was so small and filled the entire bathroom floor with water that did not drain or dry. There was nowhere to hang towels or bikinis to dry. The breakfast was basic with very little variety. We ended up going out to buy breakfast every day. The lights were flickering. Generally very small rooms. We could hear the neighbor rooms very well, even music coming from a room two floors above us. We only got one key to the room for all of us to share. The towels smelled like smoke. This area must have been the windiest part of Rhodes as well. The beach right across the hotel had the biggest waves and we couldn’t swim in the water; the life guard stopped us. We had to walk 10+ min to get to the other side of the beach every day. We were not satisfied. Please choose another hotel.

Rhodes is magnificient when you avoid this accomodation

    rating12 May 2024

I have been on vacation on the island of Rhodes quite a few times. I can say that even though the location of the hotel is great, the good things end there. If you want to see smiling friendly receptionists, try to avoid this hotel. I wouldn't consider this a four-star hotel in general. Rather, two stars are closer. Thinking the price, the whole thing is disappointing. I believe that I will return to Rhodes, but I know that I will never stay in this hotel again.
