  Considering the reviews, I was worried, but had no need to be. The hotel setting itself is incredible. The views are wonderful. This is a standard and traditional Greek, family run resort. It is not for those used to 5* complex, but provides clean comfortable rooms, nice food options and polite staff. Pool area is clean, no issues with sunbeds (no need to lay a towel out at dawn). Busy stop directly outside reception, with cheap (2euro) access to the local area for exploring. Pefkos is easily reached on foot for beaches and restaurants. Bar staff very friendly but could do with getting rid of the token system for a more relaxing and better value holiday.I would return.

  Family business, good atmosphere, calm and perfect for a family. Good service, pleasent rooms, loving the pool. Great location, a bit off from the «hot spots», walking distance to shops, restaurants and the Beach. Recommended.

  My stay in the hotel was a nightmare. Everything seemed to be a problem.You can't pay fees with a card. You have to carry your cup for drinks with you all the time (or a token for a cup). If you forget it in a room, you get no beverage. And if you bring your inflatable toy to the pool, you have to pay a fee for using it!! WiFi is subject to a fee (I knew and paid for it) but it does not work in some rooms - and if you say it was your priority to have such service, they don't offer other room but just say "don't like it? you get your money back, we don't care".I knew air condition was subject to a fee - but 8€ a day? Safe is at the reception, very small and charged 5€ a day. What they call "fruit juice" in a description of a drink, it is in fact a postmix soda. The wardrobe in the hotel room has no shelves, only a rod.As concerns food, it is just awful. Minimum fresh products, mostly ready-to-cook. Disgusting/rotten vegetables, no fruit for lunch and only watermelon for dinner, canned fruit and sour oranges for breakfast (not every day), rice and pasta dried to stone (lies on the heater 1 hour before serving for lunch), the cheapest sausage and cheese for breakfast, tomato soup made of powder but with more water than in the recipe... Often it was hard to find an edible course.In one sentence: everything in the hotel tells you "you are a sucker here and we give you as little as possible for as much as possible".And don't dare ask for assistance at the reception! A young girl, obviously a junior, is very kind and helpful, but the senior employees just communicate with negativity.Otherwise, pools are nice - although a piece of paper remained there for 24 hours - and the see view is pleasant. There are some free sunbeds at the seaside - with pleasant shade from trees - but no service is provided there - e.g. full ashtrays remain there overnight etc.

  After reading previous reviews I was sceptical about my stay, I am currently staying in room 317 room is good with a beautiful sea views.I felt I needed to post my review to stop future travellers being as sceptical as I was, the pool areas are clean and have adequate sun beds to be able to have a lie in on the morning if you wish to which is very unusual in all inclusive hotel.Breakfast is not great but not many hotels provide great breakfast’s abroad, lunch is buffet style and is more than acceptable, we have not had dinner yet so I am unable to comment at this timeLocation is ideal 2 minutes and 2 euros on a bus to Pefkos and Lindos And 6 euros to Rhodes town.For all future visitors I would not worry too much as I have spent holidays in worse hotels.The staff have also been friendly enough, as for the coins for your drinks what a good idea as is it really any hardship to have to take your glasses back to the bar.I will now enjoy the rest of my holiday and hope you enjoy your stays at the Ilyssion hotel Hotel Ilyssion, Εξυπηρέτηση πελατών/Υποδοχή at Ilyssion Beach Hotel, responded to this review Dear highpeakrambler,Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback while still staying with us.   Brilliant Holiday !!

  Honest Review. We visited this hotel 19 years ago with friends and Loved It 19 years Later !! This is a Family RunTraditional Greek Hotel . I'M a Very Fussy eater but still managed to Eat Breakfast and Lunch every day as there is lots of Choices ! We chose to eat out at night so can't comment on Evening Food . OUR ROOM 252 was spacious and clean and the view was to Die for .Found All the staff Friendly and helpful If you treat people with Respect that's what you will get in Return. Didn't buy a Safe as Not necessary I trusted The staff !! Katerina, Kostas and Chris Be Proud of what you have achieved in all these years !! PERFECT ROOM PERFECT HOSTS and We can't WAIT to come back !!
