Thea 4 is misrepresented and doesn't have a sea view
30 Sept 2024
We booked Thea 4 after a diligent search for properties across Lindos, shortlisting many and finally settling on Thea 4 as the sea views looked stunning. This was to be a long-awaited family holiday and a return to Lindos after 34 years for my wife and I, we were all really looking forward to it.I thoroughly recommend booking a transfer with Pallas travel, very good value and a thoroughly professional service. Just takes the stress out of the situation and for us saved a small fortune on taxis and hire cars. Also thoroughly recommend the sailing trip with Pallas travel – excellent. ABC supermarket is also good, some fresh veg, mostly frozen food for main meals along with a cold counter for ham and cheese etc, but you’ll find something and they are very reasonable compared to the other supermarkets. They definitely have a much broader selection than the others. If you want a butchers counter or just more choice there is a great supermarket called Flevaris 4km outside Lindos heading north, so if you have a car that will be a good place to shop.On arrival to Thea4 we were immediately struck by the lack of sea view, the property details showed a beautiful sea view and described it as well. I mentioned to the person meeting us, we later found (when we got home) out they only work with Pallas travel and not the Lindian Collection so unable to comment. The property location is good, literally a few minutes down to the beach and a similar time up to the square or into the village. The courtyard is exactly as described with a table, 4 chairs, 2 sun loungers, an airer and BBQ. Off the courtyard is a laundry room with washing machine. The master bedroom has a wardrobe, smart TV and aircon with an ensuite bathroom. The bathroom has no external window so relies on an extractor fan and consequently can smell a little damp at times, this permeates through to the bedroom. Opening the door and windows helps alleviate this problem. The second bedroom has twin beds, a wardrobe, smart TV and aircon, just off the bedroom is an ensuite bathroom. The bathroom has a shower but no shower curtain so anything on the floor near the shower will get soaked. During our stay we noticed a smell from the drain in the floor, we put some laundry detergent into the drain and that resolved the smell for a few days until topped up. No plugs for the sinks were supplied except in the kitchen. Both rooms had beach towels. We did notice a strange smell in the bedroom but either we got used to it or it vented quickly, either way it wasn’t a problem for us. It’s not the wooden furniture, more of a musty smell. The kitchen is just sufficiently equipped, mainly 4 of most things; so, if you were a party of 4 you would have to wash things up to use again in the same meal, you couldn’t put a plate of food in the fridge for example, but there are a few other containers which can be used for this. There is a filter coffee maker, Tassimo coffee machine, hob, oven and decent size fridge freezer. Cups, wine glasses, glasses and champagne flutes were also there. From a cutlery perspective it’s just the basics and a corkscrew, there was also a bread knife and a couple of other sharp knives. You are given a small tea towel, washing up sponge and some dish soap – that’s it. Literally nothing else remains, so if the previous person bought paper towels, silver foil, clingfilm, coffee pods, filter paper or left a tin of something it will have been removed, so worth factoring this in when packing. But the kitchen functioned well overall, and we were able to cook a few meals. Eating out for a family of 4 is expensive in Lindos so it helps budget. It should be noted there is no welcome pack, not that it was promised but I saw in some reviews it had been mentioned. There is a seating area outside the courtyard, this is where the sea views were supposed to be. Here you’ll find 4 seats, a table and swinging chair. Whilst the space is exclusive to your use it is not private in any way. We regularly (4 or 5 times a day) had the people from the neighbouring property walk through – they were very apologetic and totally lovely (maybe the owners?). Additionally next to the space is a thoroughfare from the beach to the acropolis or town, we would get asked 4 or 5 times a day minimum for directions, even if having an afternoon snooze! Some people are quite persistent, one person actually shouted to get my attention ( I was listening to a podcast).Maid service was roughly every 3 days, and they were great, the sheets and towels changed and the property cleaned. They topped up toilet rolls but not the other shower gels and shampoo’s etc.I will give credit to the management company for how quickly they respond to property issues, we had a leak under the sink, only found late at night and maintenance were there within 30 minutes, also replacing a glass and supplying a sharp knife were no problem and sorted promptly the next day.Sadly, they were not so good at responding to my complaint about the misrepresentation of the property and the lack of sea view. A few days into the holiday I wrote to raise my concern and complained about the lack of sea view, by this time I was feeling really mislead especially as we had paid a significant sum for a property with a sea view, and they were still advertising it with a sea view. This message was completely ignored. We looked to see if anywhere else was available and there was nothing suitable, so realised we were stuck with what we had. All other messages were responded to, just not anything regarding my complaint. I did mention it again to the Pallas travel contact but again nothing. I’m a little confused as to the relationship between the Lindian Collection and Pallas travel, they do share information (they were able to get our passport details for a trip), even refer to each other as sister companies but can’t comment on accommodation issues, looking at the websites it's hard to separate them; they do appear closely linked. On my return home I sent yet another message, again no response. The only thing I noticed this time was that they had amended the advert on booking.com to say garden views and not sea views, however the picture is still there and on their own website (Lindian Collection) they still state "stunning sea views". I escalated this to booking.com.After many communications with booking.com I’ve achieved nothing, countless messages all promising one thing or another, each of the phone calls I made to them had the representative sympathising and promising to resolve it, 1 email even stated the company were refunding us, but they didn’t reply to my email response on that trying to clarify what they were refunding, in the end we achieved nothing at all, we paid a huge amount of money and didn’t get what was advertised and paid for. Booking.com advise out the responsibility is with the Lindian Collection, but the Lindian Collection won’t respond. I did find out 1 thing, apparently the late check out we weren’t €40 charged for was compensation for the misrepresentation of the property. We were happy to pay the €40 and no mention was made at the time for it being compensation.Sadly, we can’t therefore recommend this property, such a simple thing but it genuinely spoilt the holiday for me as I’m not a beach person; but I love a sea view. All they had to do was keep their advert up to date and we wouldn’t have booked it.

Beautiful Thea 2 villa
12 Sept 2024
Lovely place to stay, so clean with everything you could want. We stayed in Thea 2 which was beautiful with a huge terrace overlooking the sea. Dont hesitate to book. The steps up and down are not for anyone who has mobility problems but that is the same all over Lindos. The safe deposit box does not work. There is a huge problem with cats in Lindos and it is really out of control now.

Perfect stay
02 Jul 2024
We stayed in Thea 1 . Lovely place fantastic views from the terraces , cool aircon (needed as we were told it was the hottest June in 30 years) and probably the best sleep I’ve had in years . Taking time out and watching the boats in the bay and also looking at the acropolis from the terrace with a cool Mythos was a great way to relax. Lindos is lovely as well - as always.

Villa Thea
12 Jan 2024
Stayed in other Thea villa’s, this one is probably the best for space and views out over the bay. Two minutes from all the restaurants and bars, yet nicely tucked away from the noise of them, the perfect location.

Spacious and relaxing
18 Sept 2022
We stayed at Thea 4 for a week as we came over for a family wedding. The rooms are really spacious and there is air conditioning. The kitchen was fine, we were able to make basic things like toasties and bacon sandwiches. There are two courtyard areas, a private one which is totally secluded with outdoor seating and loungers, and an external one with comfy sofas,an egg chair, and a view of the sea which is stunning, a nice place to sit and read and watch the world go by. Word of warning, there are a fair few steps down to the apartment so not for anyone who struggles with walking too much (then again Lindos isn’t the best place for anyone with mobility issues) you can get a taxi to take you down the hill to the end of the path. The steps take you to the main square or to the beach so good location. The beds are a little hard but can’t fault anything else.We had lots of cats visiting our courtyard , I love cats so I was in my element. There was a mum and three kittens who were adorable. Lindos is full of cats 😻If you don’t like cats ignore them and they will leave you alone! A very relaxing stay in a good location for a beautiful wedding.
