    Relaxing break at the Vallian

    rating09 May 2026

My wife and I spent 11 days at the Vallian hotel (28/4 - 9/5) and had a great stay which was a perfect break for us. This was the smallest hotel we have stayed in and when we arrived there were not many guests, each day more people arrived but the hotel still gave a quiet and relaxing vibe. No loud music being played or holiday club staff asking for you to do yoga :0).Staff were very friendly and super attentive, the guys behind the bar and staff in the dining area were a credit to the hotel. We loved the food as there was a good selection and the quality was great (especially the orange cake), maybe not as large a selection that we have seen elsewhere but no complaints from us, we looked forward to every meal every day.We were AI and drinks are restricted to local beer/wines from 10am-5pm and the spirits/cocktails as well from 5pm -10.30pm (you can purchase branded drinks) , we're not big drinkers so this was fine for us, but sadly no diet mixers. Our room (109) was lovely and bed comfortable and our balcony gave us a great view of the sunsets, it was nice to sit out with a drink and watch the sun go down. , The room had a large fridge with freezer compartment, a kettle and two mugs but no tea or coffee so bring your own if this is important to you, there was also a hairdryer, safe and TV. Our room had 6 plug sockets. Pool towels were given to us by reception and no deposit required. Temperature 28th April - 9th May were 22 - 24 degrees and we had sunshine for 9 out of 11 days which was great. Evenings chilly but a jumper on made it comfortable...no jackets needed.Hotel does not have a lot going on around it and the beach is stoney, not at all pretty unless the sun is setting! If you want to watch football matches, Billy's Place is 5 mins away on the bus ( 2-3 euros from bus stop at top of the road). If you're looking for peace and quiet and want to chill out, read a few books, dip in the pool and good food/cold beers etc then this hotel is great value for money plus it's really close to the airport. We had read reviews that commented on the chickens... it turned out the local cockerels compete from around midnight into the day every day....the first night our window had been slightly open - second night firmly closed and this definitely helped keep the farmyard noises down, luckily we weren't too hot with the windows closed and it wasn't really hot enough to use air con. We got used to it over a couple of days and kind of miss them now we are home - same with the plane noise - these were not annoying at all and an interesting feature each day trying to guess the airline! Thank you Vallien Hotel, so friendly - we had a great time.

    Wonderful hotel

    rating18 Oct 2025

My husband and I stayed at Vallian village for 2 weeks in September and we loved it. We were very sad to leave. It's a lovely, quiet, small, family run hotel and is perfect for what we needed. Sofia, Simos and their team were incredible hosts and it was like staying with old family friends. I was unfortunately very sick my first week and they were so kind, always checking in with my husband as to how I was...and I really felt they genuinely cared. Our room was very comfortable and kept clean by their fab housekeeping team. We had a room backing into the gardens, which we enjoyed; waking up to the sound of the birds and having little visits from the cats on site was lovely. We chose to pay for the Aircon as there was a little plane noise here and there, (didn't bother us once we got used to it), and as I have a breathing machine at night, I needed the ventilation. Worth it for the many good nights sleep I had! The food and drinks available were great! Every meal was freshly prepared and always something different on offer. I would only like to suggest maybe a different fruit here and there, as that was a little repetitive but otherwise, fab.For us, this hotel was spot on, and we would absolutely recommend to people seeking a chilled vibe. If you are party people, it's probably not for you!My only negative comment is actually nothing to do with the hotel, but the local public transport. It's fine going out but coming back it's like playing sardines with strangers or human-buckaroo. Hot, uncomfortable, too many people on the buses and still letting more passengers on. Absolutely appalling, and I feel for the locals...they need to put more buses on in high season! If you're gonna stay here, either have cash for taxis or rent a car.
