    9/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    rating07 Jun 2026

Arrived 29th May 26 The room is basic but fine for holidays no drawers, the beds were comfortable. The room was cleaned to an excellent standard for the first week but that changed, clearly a change of staff…. Overall the hotel is very clean- The staff in all areas are friendly and helpful always, they work very hard and could probably do with some more especially in the bar as the girl is run off her feet (she has many jobs) The manager is 10/10 he is working very hard every day to make sure the guests are happy and again you will see him doing all the jobs.. The food is varied and we always found something we liked. Breakfast- it is repetitive but all the items were there..Lunch - The food is a hit but the kitchen can’t keep up with the volume of guests, the food is not replenished quick enough… there is not enough tables & chairs for everyone. If you wait till 13.30 there is pretty much nothing left. Dinner - The main restaurant is better organised, there was always a really good selection. We dined at the Greek & Italian restaurants both were excellent and would highly recommend 10/10Entertainment - Loads on all day for everyone, evening shows etc.. the usual for holidayingThe beach & the area lets the hotel down there is no where nice to stroll to but to be fair this is out of their hands. If you fix the small things the 10/10 won’t be far away.

    Lovely holiday

    rating05 Jun 2026

Lovely holiday. Daughter loved the main pool and slide. No lifeguards, but we were fine watching her. Food good, always found something we liked. Gyros and freshly made pizzas at the snack bar were yummy! Drinks fine, we loved the amaretto sours! Room basic but good for what we needed. Entertainment not great, but we don't mind that. Saw 1 singing act and the other nights it was just quizes etc after the daily mini disco. Went on some lovely trips to Symi, Lindos, and visited Kallithea springs - would recommend all. Bus stop down the road very handy and always on time. Hotel quite out the way and not a lot to do around. The beach a couple of minutes walk across the road from hotel had no sunloungers and no beach bar open, but think it was the time of year we visited. Overall a good stay!

Lovely hotel but let down by food and beach

    rating05 Jun 2026

Went in late May 2026 as a family of 9 ranging from 5 to 80I stayed in a family room with my hubby and 5 year old, they are set out fab with separate sleeping areas. I found the beds to be comfy and the rooms were spacious and clean, the balcony and sliding doors were really big so let in loads of light and had a great ocean view. The bathroom was a bit small and was difficult to move in the shower which was over a bath, you couldn’t actually use the bath either since there was no plug. There was a mini fridge which came with 3 bottles of water but this was never re-stocked and there was a kettle, some tea and coffee which was also never replenished. I get water not being replaced I suppose but why could we not get more sachets of coffee? Plenty of space for clothes and a safe with a key. The room we stayed in was up a flight of stairs (no lift) so any families with buggies or physical disabilities will struggle. Their website says all buildings have lifts – this is not the case.My grandparents were allocated a room further away from the main building and had a slope that was not suitable for my grandad who has walking issues, they asked to move and paid more but was put in a family room up a great flight of stairs, definitely not suitable, even though reception told them it was an upgrade and on the ground floor! Finally put in a better room, which was lovely, up a lift but the reception staff didn’t make this easy to resolve and caused quite a bit of stress on the first day. The swimming pools were great, a good size, clean and there generally seemed to be plenty of sun loungers. Easyjet website suggests there are 5 pools but I only counted 4…? There is a pool bar, near the bigger main pool, where you can get drinks during the day. No toilets in the entire premises were on the ground floor, all downstairs (down a lift) and not close enough to the pools. There is a supermarket on site which is convenient and very well stocked. The food situation was very hit and miss; breakfast was fine, there was freshly cooked pancakes and omelettes, few selections of cereal, bread, yoghurts, dried fruits. The fresh fruit selection was not great. Stations for getting your own coffee and juices. The same every day. Lunch time- there was a snack bar which served fresh gyros, pizzas, chips, a salad bar all of which were nice, also a bit of a random assortment of other foods like meats, spaghetti, rice which weren’t always labelled and I accidentally ate a small amount of meat, which being a vegetarian was very upsetting. There was an indoor sitting area here which was never opened even when it was very windy one day. There is 1 self-serve station for beer, pop, juices and ice cream. The main restaurant was never opened at lunch time so everyone had to go to the snack bar making it very busy. Dinner Time – mediocre choice, repeated options, poor vegetarian options, not welled stocked and some parts of the buffet inwere completely empty. Puddings were really nice. The dining chairs are absolutely disgusting, suede so cant be cleaned. We ended up eating out quite a bit and there is a few bars / restaurants / a supermarket within 10 minutes walking distance or 20 Euro for a taxi there and back. The FAMILY sports bar&grill is amazing, food was fantastic and reasonably priced, the Zum Papagei Parrot bar Café was also great, we went 3 times for cocktails and to meet the adorable parrot. Drink options were good and there was a cocktail / mocktail menu with a few good options, as long as the bar tenders had the right things they were also willing to make drinks not on the menu. The main bar was next to reception, not very big though and I think the hotel would have benefitted from another bar area. There are some pool tables, arcade games, air hockey but we never used or went there as there was no sitting space and would have been better near a bar. The hotel website suggests there is an Italian and Asian restaurant – there wasn’t - and there was only a Greek restaurant which was fine. My grandad got a free cake since it was his 80th birthday, which was nice. At the time of booking there was also mention of a bar on the beach (their website still shows pictures of nice sun loungers which are no longer there) – this is closed down and gone to ruin, trash all left behind on the beach and no toilets. The shell of the buildings are still there but just look a mess. The beach was pebbly toward the sea and difficult to walk on, the slope from the hotel to the beach was very steep so anyone with walking issues will struggle or just not be able to go at all. The website says it is a short and easy walk which is not true for everyone / all ages. There seemed to be a lot of parts of the hotel either empty, not in use or used for storage which was a bit odd. The Spa was great and me and my mum went for massages.Entertainment was not great, the amphitheater was not used at all and all entertainment was done in / just outside of the main bar area which wasn’t very big really considering how many people could stay at the hotel, definitely not enough sitting space. Nice outside area though if you aren’t interested in sitting inside. Some nights there was quizzes and one night there was some British girls in sparkly outfits singing British songs, not authentic Greek experience I would have preferred. I didn’t go to Rhodes to feel like I am on a Butlins or Haven site! There was daytime activities in the main pool, like aerobics, water polo. There is a small outdoor play area, pretty basic and my son only asked to go once. The hotel is a short drive to Rhodes old town which is stunning and where we also caught a boat ride to the island of Symi which was so picturesque. Also close to the airport making for a short transfer. Since the beach near the hotel was rubbish we caught a taxi to Tsambika Beach which was half hour away but really beautiful, has restaurants, water sports, paid sun loungers, public toilets (take change) and a shop right on the front. If you take snorkels you can see puffer fish and it is a gentle slope in and not deep. Most of the staff at the hotel seemed friendly and happy to help but generally seemed very understaffed and you saw some people working the entire day.Overall nice hotel – would say the food and beach lets it down massively but Rhodes is stunning and definitely worth a trip.

    Not worth it

    rating04 Jun 2026

WritingFrom the beginning, the experience at Virginia Hotel in Rhodes was disappointing. The receptionist had no idea where our room was and sent us to search for it in the main building ourselves. After wasting around 15 minutes walking around with luggage, we had to return to reception only to find out that our room was actually in a completely different building. The room was far smaller than what was shown in the online pictures. The air conditioning was automatically locked at 26°C, so we had to call reception to unlock it. Unfortunately, they only unlocked it down to 24°C — which is still far from comfortable in Rhodes heat 😃The food was not terrible, but definitely below expectations for a 4-star hotel. Around 8 PM only one of the two beer machines was working because, according to the manager, it was “out of gas” 😃 This forced everyone to use the main bar, where there were constantly between 7 and 15 people waiting in line. There were also not enough normal glasses available, so drinks were often served in coffee cups 😃There seems to be almost no pest control. Bugs and insects were everywhere around the hotel.Entertainment was practically non-existent — both for kids and adults. The “kids disco” lasted about one hour around 7 PM and was honestly pathetic. After 11 PM, when the all-inclusive drinks stop, the entire place becomes completely dead. The prices for imported alcohol were ridiculous considering what the hotel already charges.Another major issue was the sunbeds around the pools. Guests are supposedly not allowed to reserve them, yet by 8 AM almost every sunbed already had towels placed on it.Overall, this hotel is way below what should be considered a 4-star standard Virginia Family Resort, Εξυπηρέτηση πελατών/Υποδοχή at Virginia Family Resort, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Nice hotel with great staff and good food

    rating31 May 2026

Just stayed at this hotel during the school holidays. I picked it due to it being close to a beach, close to the airport, not far from Rhodes town and with good reviews. Thought the hotel was the perfect size. Kids got to know other kids, didn't feel too overwhelmed and got to know their way around the hotel. With the Kids club, although it seemed like it wasn't stacked with toys and activities, it seemed to work very well and the kids kept wanting to go every day (the staff working in the kids club were excellent). The pool areas were great with lively pool at one end of the hotel and a quieter non-windy pool near the main reception area, both had bars nearby. The bar situation in the evening was good as there was only one which meant there was a good atmosphere with lots of people. The bar staff in the evening were very quick to serve people and made cocktails that were high quality, quick and not out of a packet. I thought the food was excellent and just about varied enough for 7 days and was better than most of the 4 star all inclusives I've been to. Kids liked the pasta and chicken nuggets (they don't always like them). The nearby beach didn't have a bar on it (not sure what happened) and a bit of litter about. One end of the beach is sand and the other end are pebbles. The pebbly end was great for snorkelling, with lots of fish to see and the water being very clear. Pool was just about warm enough. We rented a car for a day at the hotel and that was very easy without too much fuss or looking for scratches. Negatives; there are always some. The nearby road for restuarants if you don't fancy the hotel food has quite a few restaurants and a couple of shops but it is a busy road and not the prettiest. Bathroom was a bit small. People wearing vests for dinner (bit of a snobby comment but hotel could gently dissuade people from doing this).
