  Lovely relaxing holiday ??

  I stayed here with a friend for a week mid August and we both enjoyed our time there. Our room was in the main building and although it could do with a bit of an update especially in the bathroom ( shower over bath) it was clean and well serviced each day. As we were quite high up we had a view of the sea over the buildings and wasn't far for the reception and the restaurant for breakfast. The breakfast in the morning was lovely and has plenty of options and the view from there was spectacular.We went down the beach most days and went to the far end, it was beautiful and peaceful. Although it was stoney they were fine and we managed fine without beach shoes. We used the pool late afternoon which again is lovely. We always got sunbeds and were going there between 9.00 and 10.00. We ate in the restaurant by the pool and also used the one on the beach and found all the staff friendly.Only a couple of things could be improved on. Although the parasols were very pretty, they didn't give much shelter from the sun, which made it slightly uncomfortable at times. Also tea/ coffee making facilities in the room would be nice, although I had read this before I went so I took a travel kettle. It is built into a steep hill but that didn't bother me and it was a taxi ride (10 mins and 8€) to town. We loved the town, beautiful harbour, loads of restaurants, bars and shops and no trouble getting taxis home. We would definitely go back there, we both really enjoyed the holiday.   We had a wonderful stay at the Proteas Blu. The staff were superb, the food great and the rooms spotless. Nothing was ever to much. If you were tired a buggy would take you about but the grounds are so beautiful a slow walk is ideal. A big thank you to the staff who made it so good. See you all next year.   A great holiday and a stunning location

  First impressions not great, lobby area very sparce and unwelcoming and we had to check ourselves in via a QR code - hardly a 5 star experience, and then we were taken to our seaview room which was very nice (bungalow 524) and loads of storage space. I always like to look through the hotel brochure to get some ideas on things I might have missed on my own pre holiday checks. I was confronted with one page with a QR link again. We can't just assume that everyone has a smart phone, or are tech savvy and in an adult only resort, it will always attract an older clientele. Now the good stuff. Views stunning, pool area stunning, private beach the best I have experienced, pool bar and beach bar superb and great for relaxing or lunch over a beer or any time of the day.All staff amazing, breakfast in the paramount restaurant amazing. It is a beautiful resort - all be it on quite a steep slope, but a regular buggy can help with that.The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 due to initial first impressions, but don't let this put you off.Thanks Magda (hotel manager) for listening to my QR code concerns for the older less tech savvy audience.   A truly memorable week at Proteas Blu Resort

  We have just returned from a wonderful week at Proteas Blu Resort in Samos, and what a fantastic week it was. We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary, which made the holiday particularly special, and the resort and its staff went out of their way to make it memorable.Our room, 725, was perfectly positioned with a beautiful view overlooking the Aegean Sea. Sitting on the balcony looking out over the sea was the perfect way to start and finish each day.The staff were exceptional throughout our stay. Everyone was incredibly polite, friendly and attentive, and nothing ever seemed too much trouble. They genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. As it was our anniversary, we were particularly touched to find sparkling wine waiting for us in our room. It was a lovely surprise and a wonderful personal touch.And then there was the breakfast — quite simply, exceptional. There was everything anyone could possibly want, with an enormous choice of high-quality food. The two chefs cooking the eggs were particularly entertaining and great fun, and their good humour every morning was a lovely way to start the day.The food throughout the resort was excellent. We ate in many of the restaurants and found the quality consistently high, with dishes beautifully presented. One of our highlights was our meal on Saturday 19th September at the boat-based fish and oyster restaurant, which was a fantastic experience and another memorable part of our anniversary celebrations.The private beach and pool areas are superb, with plenty of sunbeds and several different types to choose from. There was always somewhere comfortable to relax, whether by the pool or down on the beach.I should probably mention that my wife rather took a shine to the very handsome pool lifeguard, so I sensibly made sure we spent rather a lot of our time down on the beach! ??Joking aside, the whole resort has a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, beautiful surroundings and staff who clearly take pride in looking after their guests. The location is stunning, the food is excellent and the service really does make the place special. If we had one criticism, it would be that there were no tea and coffee-making facilities in the room. After such an otherwise exceptional stay, this was really the only thing we felt was missing.Overall, we had a fantastic experience at Proteas Blu Resort. Our first wedding anniversary will always be associated with a very special week in Samos, and the team at Proteas Blu played a huge part in making it so memorable.Thank you to everyone at Proteas Blu Resort for looking after us so well.
