  My wife and I booked a stay at the hotel for my 60th birthday early October of this year on the strength of the reviews, but were bitterly disappointed.First off, the positives.Hotel is located across the road from a nice, although wind swept, sandy beach, and sunbeds were available.Reception is attractive, and staff were friendly.Room was decent sized but basic and nothing special. That said, they were cleaned daily. Now to the not so positives.Immediate locality is exceedingly quite, (Ok, dead) and there is nothing to see, except the port down the road, and a couple of bars and restaurants. However when one is staying all inclusive, these should be as useful as salt is in the sea. But that was for us OK, as we weren't looking for a night life and had decided to rent a car anyway. That said, far more action was taking place in the nearby supermarket than in the rest of the area combinedOne may walk to the nearby town (Karlovasi), but don't bother, as it is quite a way, and once there, there isn't much to see anyway.And now the flat out negatives.People have mentioned the bar situation, so I needn't bother repeating. However the food is another matter all together.The food was to be fair varied, but the choice was exceedingly limited and disappointing. The whole buffet is situated in a small alcove, with the larger side taken up with bread, cheese and accoutrements , so one can guess the amount of different warm offerings available.Just to mention one example of what we were offered, Sunday Lunch was a sliced sausage as the main grill. And this wasn't the only time this pathetic offering was made during our stay either. Another time we were offered tepid hamburgers, but the buns (probably out of the packet) were neither toasted nor warmed up, and frankly tasted of sawdust.As a nod to all inclusive, at the Samaina Inn some limited finger food is made available between 4 and 4:30. One is expected to queue at the pool bar for tiny pizza squares or such. I would recommend that one buys some biscuits from the nearby supermarket instead. Far more satisfying. Some fresh fruit (apples, bananas ) were on offer though. I have no idea how this hotel managed a 4 star rating, as on the strength of the food, it shouldn't even have been awarded a 3 star. We are sorry that your regarding of our area was so negative, we are finding your choice of words, though, kind of overstating. Karlovassi is a spread town, comprising of five parts (main Karlovassi, Meseo, Paleo, Ormos and Karlovassi port)., with the most shops operating in our center. The distance between our hotel and the center is 1500 m, with a bus connection available, plus free bicycles offered by us. Our town has an idequate market, various tastefully made shops. A place with a history, clearly imprinted on its people, with a rare natural beauty, mountain and sea landscapes, numerous villages that maintain images of a refined past with a look to the future.A much acknowledged Aegean University is also present, apart from its standard operations visited for research and conferences from scholars from all over the world.The frontal street of Ag. Nikolaos church with some old and renovated mansions of the time and the majestic churches showcases the nostalgic grandeur of the period when when Karlovassi thrived in leather procession that activity, being known at the whole of Europe for its exports. The Tannery Exhibition space is a space much visited by visitors. Our town’s surrounding area has rare natural beauty that incorporates mountain and sea landscapes, as well as uphill villages with a refined past, much walked from our guests that love hiking. It is kind of a pity that you did not explore our town’s surrounding beauties to the extent that they deserve (the magnificent Paleo Karlovassi with the Cave of St. Antonios and Holly Trinity Chapel so prominently viewed, Potami beach with its waterfall and ambient places, Megalo and Micro Seitani locations-beaches, the traditional neighborhoods of our town center).So, we have to disagree that a supermarket nearby offers more action, we just understand your feelings, since each person perceives experiences and influences differently. We're disappointed to learn that the all-inclusive package did not meet your expectations. About the buffet structure, it is unfair to read about only an alcove hosting limited variety of warm dishes, when actually in that part ten kinds of warm dishes are presented, plus three kinds at show cooking section next, a back buffet where soup with its accoutrements is daily offered, breads (sliced or buns), rusks, two large cheeseboards, followed next by the oils, herb oils, vinegars, sauces, mustards etc. section, to the left of all this the desserts, while at the front left fresh salads buffet, finally the front parallel buffet hosts the fruits, cut fruits, extra Greek sweets plateaus and dishes. And here, we need to defend, these are in no way called “some” fruits.As about the sausages offered, our Chef’ some days chooses to offer some food items, whose spicy taste is also desired. Apart from that, grill options are more or less covered during the rest of days. Next to those, a balanced variety of warm food is available, though. Mind you, please, that our owners, Chef’ and culinary team select high quality raw materials and ingredients from local producers, tasty, fresh and guaranteed. Regarding the snacks offerings and duration of providing them, your input is duly noted, we shall consider our choices in order to fit our guests needs with a more satisfactory mix. A vast majority of our precious and hugely repeating guests depict their utterly enjoyable vacation in Samaina Inn Hotel, letting themselves enjoy the nearby beauties and gaining from Samos’ amazing experiences.Your feedback, however, is valuable and we constantly are considering options to provide an always elevating holiday experience.   Good and Bad

  We stayed for two weeks long transfer time Hotel is lovely spotlessly clean and 99% of staff were lovely Food was good and chefs apart from one great over my allergy All inclusive drinks were awful from beer to cocktails we paid in the end We paid for a sea view room and requested a walk in shower the shower continually flooded making it extremely dangerous after days of reporting we ended up with numerous bath mats handle on shower broken when fixed no hot water to be given all sorts of excuses but after 24 hours hot water The sea view room was none existent unless wind blew the tree reception told be I had to get my priorities right !!! We are keeping records of incidents concerning our guests’ well being and of all occurring problems and the course of action taken. So, we know there was a flooding in your bath – this problem was fixed within 24 hours.As about the lukewarm water you had instead of hot at certain time when the weather was cloudy and hot water consumption in the rooms was simultaneous, we then fired machines to induce hot water flow. Here it is needed to remind that upon arrival, when you requested a room with a walk-in shower, our front office colleague informed you that the room given was the only one available with such a bath facility. We see no record of broken handle in shower and it is sad for us to read excuses were made by our front desk ladies, who go above and beyond to serve our visitors. After inquiring info from our technician who checked, it was just a screw needing tightening for the handle. Your feedback has some blurry points not easily understood (telegraphically written), so guesses are made.So, if we are right, you mean our area is isolated and the use of a taxi service was increased. Understandably, if there are mobility issues, exploring of Samos areas is a serious concern, therefore for access to the island areas choices should differ. It is to wonder about that you did not rent a car as numerous guests do, especially at the time of season you were here, at an island of such size, which is best explored by a vehicle. We are much affected from your impressions that show you were less satisfied from certain features of our hotel, ones that we from our side will surely better, as in the case of the tree obstacling sea view.   Quiet location. Nice hotel but some negatives.

  Pleasant hotel but quite out the way. Easily an hour & half transfer with Tui after drop offs. A few bars by dock area with nice meals & drinks. A couple of restaurants with great food in the other direction although didn’t walk far so may have been more but unlikely. Hotel staff are lovely, so helpful & friendly. A real credit to the hotel. Very comfortable beds. Room nice but you could do with more storage for clothes & shelves/cupboards in bathroom for your toiletries. There is room for them so not sure why there isn’t more. Food in buffet restaurant is very nice & enjoyable. Limited snacks though served at pool bar between 4-4.30. Comfortable sun loungers around pool. Not so good points - only bar for all inclusive drinks is the pool bar. Drinks are served in small glasses, even beer, which was sadly flat, & cocktails, which were small & syrupy. Vodka was quite nice & wine ok. Didn’t try other drinks. There is a large nice looking bar near foyer but you have to pay for all drinks, no all inclusive served. This meant that bar was quiet & pool bar very busy with poor bar women working non stop. She was amazingly still very happy & friendly though. Bar serves 11-11 with lobby bar open until midnight. WiFi was poor. We struggled to get signal continuously anywhere. No signal on beach, which you had to walk over the road to. Road wasn’t particularly busy but some people could find it an issue listening to traffic noise. Beach was small with grass area that lead onto a narrow sand & stony beach with free sun loungers. You needed beach shoes to get into the sea comfortably but was sand a few steps in. Limited entertainment only on certain nights. Overall this is a lovely friendly hotel but a few changes could make it a better. Karlovassi is the equally large as the capital, a town at the north of our island, found in the middle, between Votsalakia, Marathokampos village and Kokkari, Vathi, Manolates or Vourliotes mountain villages, etc. Examples of quite prominent European cities found far away from the nearest airports are abundant.At an island covering an area of 477.4 km², a car or motorbike is necessary for visitors to explore it, apart from use of public buses and agencies various available excursions.Your great comments regarding the hotel and our colleagues appeal to you, its beds comfort you enjoyed, our cuisine evaluation and food quality level.Your comment for more storage space needed for things and toiletries is duly noted.As about the supply of all inclusive drinks, we need to stress that two all inclusive stations are available at the hotel, the restaurant station (covering drinks need for 8 ½ hours daily and the pool bar, open 8:00-23:00 hrs daily, plus water refill station next to the lobby bar (which is actually intended for serving visitors, our other hotel guests, meetings, conferences ‘ people etc., an absolutely essential bar for an area signature hotel accommodating various arrangement clients and community groups). The issue of certain drinks whose taste was not fitting you is also under further consideration, as well as the WiFi failure experienced some times.   Fabulous stay with my neice and her partner at this hotel , food was excellent , me being vegan was very good , i had no problem with food very yummy 💕, i did yoga on the beach & pilates , the entertainment we enjoyed , .   Simply wonderful week in Samaina Inn - Highly recommended place

  We spent an amazing week at Hotel Samaina INN from August 29 to September 5 in family room number 132. The hotel is impeccably clean, with excellent food and a warm, well-maintained pool. The greatest asset is the staff – always smiling, helpful, and professional. Eva and her colleagues at reception resolve every request with a smile, Maria and Agnieszka spread good cheer at the bar from morning till evening, and the hotel manager, who is evidently held in high esteem by the staff, pleasantly surprised us with his fluent Czech. A lovely gesture was the birthday celebration for our father with a cake – simply wonderful, cause we did not even notified hotel stuff about any birthday upfront. The discovered it themselves!And the paradox? While the hotel and its staff were exemplars of hospitality and professionalism, the only weak point during our stay was the Fischer tour operator’s representative, who seemed to be doing her job reluctantly. Fortunately, this had nothing to do with the hotel – and it was precisely Hotel Samaina INN that made our vacation truly exceptional. We highly recommend it and look forward to returning.
