  We loved the view but were disappointed in the service

  I recently stayed at Above Blue Suites in Imerovigli. The view is absolutely spectacular! But there were several areas where we were disappointed, especially for a "luxury villa" setting:Some basic amenities were missing (no wash cloths or lotion)The room service was minimal; we weren't supplied with clean glasses, the toilet tissue wasn't replenished until we called, dirty towels were not removed, bed sheets were not changed for several nights even though that was promised, and floors were dirty.The mini fridge leaked continuously on the floorThe breakfast was bad. We had to pre-order, but times of delivery were altered or denied; the items requested were not always delivered or we were given totally different items instead; inconsistent portion sizes; we were missing utensils/napkinsThere were shower pressure issues: the sink and handheld head worked fine but the main shower head had very minimal pressure.There was no offer of assistance with luggage on arrival or checkout and when we asked for assistance, it was denied.Given the cost, I expected better service. If you stay here be sure to confirm what you expect ahead of time.   Don't get fooled. Hot tub? More like cold tub, dirty sheets, uncleaned room, and mediocre service at best.

  Hot tub? More like cold tub. Front desk said they cannot adjust temperature of the tub but if the water is dirty from sunscreen or body oils, extra charge. Room was not clean when we arrived. Hair in the shower, toothpaste marks on the bathroom back splash, sheets had stains, 3 of 4 pillow cases had stains, towels smelled like cigarette smoke. We were asked to order breakfast and when it came the next day items were missing. When we asked the front desk, they said "no, it was brought to you." We showed them a picture that only one coffee came, not 2. When we asked for the second one, they said the cappuccino machine was broken. We saw others get cappuccino 5 mins after. Bonus: The couch pillow had stains, the front door window was dirty, and the kettle had rust inside (yummy)!The views are nice, the location is good. But don't get fooled by the "hot tub". We booked this property hoping to enjoy a private hot tub and the Caldera views, instead, we were disappointed all around. The hotel is not a 4 or 5 star as they claim. It's run down, things don't work, and the service is mediocre at best. SKIP IT.   Hot tub not usable- more like a cold plunge pool

  We stayed in the moonlight suite which we were happy about once we arrived. We were located above the pool, not many steps to get to the main road and we had privacy. Other suites were lower with at least 80 steps to get to street level and along a walking bath so little privacy. We had a hot tub on our balcony that didn’t work. It was more like a cool plunge pool. Great for the afternoon if you wanted to sit in it but at night it was cold and couldn’t use. Which we were disappointed as we explored during the day and wanted to enjoy the hot tub in the evening and watch the sunset. We mentioned the broken hot tub to front desk but they just shrugged and said that was the way it’s supposed to be. We didn’t see a bar when we were there so we had to go buy our own at the supermarket across the street. Breakfast was served to the room every morning which was nice. Not enough chairs around the pool for the amount of rooms. Room was clean and comfortable. Beautiful sunsets right from your balcony.   What a beautiful location!! When you arrive it takes your breathe away! Probablly the highest and quieter location which was perfect.Oneside you have the view and the other side beautiful cobbled streets and lovely greek buildings.We stayed 4 nights which i would say is a good amount of time to relax and see the Island.The hotel offered a warm welcome, we had a lovely room with a hot tub, a seating area out front where we had breakfast delivered every morning.Lovely walk just down a few steps which takes you along a lovely path woth lots of restaurants and bars. We would recomend "Five senses" restaurant.These are quite pricey but great food and the view is stunning!About 20 mins and you reach fira one of the main towns.Behind the hotel is a quaint sq and authentic greek restaurants that are a bit more reasonable! Its worth going to Oia the other main town but taxis are expensive! You can get a bus nearby but we hired a dune buggy which was a good price and we got round the whole island! Some good view points and the black beaches.Also be wary to visit Oia on the days the cruise ships arrive as its awfull! Hoards of people which ruin it.I would defo re visit and stay here again as i loved it!   Beautiful boutique hotel in the middle of Imerovigli

  We stayed in the Moon light suite and it was perfect for us . There are two suites that are right on the walking path and some people commented on the lack of privacy. The Moonlight suite is located above the pool so very private. There is an outside tub with a balcony perfect for two. Beautiful blue and white decor inside the room and a Very comfortable bed. They clean your room daily and you get a big bottle of water for free.The hotel is located in the middle of Imerovigli which is perfect to walk to Fira and/or Oia.The bar was closed for the season but no issue as there is a mini market right across the street as well as the wine bar beside the hotel.There is a nice pool (not heated) with several lounges chairs (no shade).The staff is very helpful and they deliver breakfast to your suite in the morning at the time of your choosing.I would recommend this hotel if you are looking to be in the center of Santorini and looking for something smaller as it only has ten suites.Thank you to the team at Above Blue Suites for an amazing stay in Santorini!
