  Amazing place to stay!

  My wife and I stayed here for four nights in May. We arrived late evening, and there were clear instructions left for us to take us to our suite. Very spacious, clean, with a very comfortable, huge bed! Vasilie (nicknamed Billy, who looks after the bar and restaurant) kindly helped us to order a delivery as it was so late, and took care of us thereafter each time we went for a drink at the bar, or for a meal, a real gent! Vasilie number two, who manages the hotel, greeted us the next morning to complete our check in, and quickly sorted an issue with a padlock on our suitcase with a missing key! Another amazing person, nothing was too much trouble! Armed with lots of useful information, he organised a car hire for us with one call, and the car arrived the next day as promised, half an hour before it was due! A shout out to Eurodollar car hire also, who were brilliant! Location was sublime, away from the crowds, perfect after a day out, and to laze by the pool or in the hot tub in the suite! Thank you to all at Amber Light, you were amazing!

  Okay hotel

  The first thing, is that this hotel is half way up a cliff and there is no amenities surrounding the area. We admit we should have done more research, but if you want to get out and about you either need to rent a car or get taxis. We rented a car from somewhere the hotel recommended, it wasn’t until later into our holiday we realised we could have rented for cheaper with a company in Fira which was called LTS and located just up from McDonalds. The room itself is clean enough, but dated and needing TLC. There are no lifts in the hotel, so you need to be able bodied to carry suitcases etc downstairs/upstairs depending on where your room is located. The breakfast has a very limited choice, and again we found ourselves going to the supermarket and buying supplies. The hotel doesn’t supply you water every day either, so again stock up on water to get you through your stay. Most of the rooms have a hot tub, but they again look unclean and we never entered it once. If you could get out and about easily enough, this hotel would be fine just to lay your head at night but in no way is a 5 star and is a 2 at best.

  Quiet spot -great sea views!

  I stayed here for 5 nights with my husband and 2 adult children. We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa. We had ample space for everyone. Beds were comfortable, the suite was very clean and the view was spectacular! It is not the caldera view but an expansive view of the sea. This is a quiet hotel. You won’t be fighting for space by the pool or at the breakfast buffet. Breakfast was great. Always an egg dish, breakfast sausages, bacon, potatoes or beans, lots of breads, pastry, cereal, yogurts and fruit. You can eat breakfast with a view of the sea! Staff is very helpful and friendly. This hotel is in imerovigli but on the “quiet side” of the island. It’s not really within walking distance of any restaurants or stores. You need a car or spend the $$ on a taxi. We opted to get a car which worked out cheaper for us. There is also the option to get an ATV. The front desk staff arranged the car rental for us. It was great! We were able to drop the car off at the airport the morning we left. We enjoyed our stay here. It was quiet and a nice retreat from the busy Oia and Fira. We went back into Oia or Fira everynight.   Our stay at Amber Light Villas was nothing short of magical.   Amber light villas ruined my honeymoon !!

  It was the worst experience ever!!I decided to spend my honeymoon in Amber light hotel, but unfortunately when We arrived to the hotel we found that it is not a honeymoon destination at all. It’s very poor hotel, old furniture, not clean private pools full of dead insects and the water is super cold we didn’t even able to use the pool, the location of the hotel is too far of everything you must have a car, poor food quality, no any services in the hotel after 11 pm all is closed, and no even near by services or restaurants as the hotel is on the top of a mountain with no easy access to taxi or uber. they ruined my honeymoon vacation in santorini :(We decided to move to other hotel in the downtown, but we already paid full payments to Amber light villas, we tried to friendly contact the management team to refund us at least half of the money but they refused and they were not helpful at all. I don’t recommend going there.
