The best place to see the Sunrise

    rating18 Aug 2025

We had a wonderful stay at Antinea Suite Hotel and Spa. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming – a special thank you to Leo and Vasilise who went above and beyond during our stay. When our air conditioning stopped working, the team upgraded us to a lovely room, which was greatly appreciated.Do note that the hotel is located up a very steep hill from the centre, which could be challenging for anyone with walking difficulties. The only downside was that on arrival, our transfer dropped us at the bottom of the hill with no directions, so finding the hotel initially was confusing. However the transport is not the hotel's fault. Overall, though, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend Antinea for its excellent service and relaxing atmosphere.

    Awesome

    rating15 May 2025

We just returned from an amazing trip, the Greek people are just so friendly. We stayed here for a week and wished it was for longer. All the staff really made us feel welcome and nothing was ever too much trouble. The cleanliness everywhere was top notch. They are an absolute credit to the hotel and their friendliness and helpfulness was awesome. We hope we’ll be back one day 🇬🇷

    Certainly NOT 4*

    rating10 Aug 2024

This hotel was 'nice enough' but absolutely not 4 *Accommodation was spacious but basic and a bit 'tired'.AC worked well, and the bed was comfortable. Low water pressure, so shower wasn't the best at all.As others have said, it was quite a steep uphill hike in the heat if you ventured down to the beach area. The pool was small and basic. The sun disappears very early due to being built into the side of a cliff. The day bar staff were helpful and friendly.Food: The half board menu was limited as others have said, but the traditional dishes were excellent. The shower facilities for early checkout/late flight was not suitable at all. It was like a small public toilet with a shower. Very unsuitable.€80 to keep my room which I felt was excessive. Also was charged €7 pn tourist tax for 4* hotel. Jet2 rate this hotel as 3* which is closer to the mark which would have been €3 pn. The hotel were unwilling to budge on that.I wouldn't go back

A tranqil stay in a busy place!

    rating09 Aug 2024

We decided to try a hotel situated on the foothills of the mountain that dominates the scenery of Kamari. Antinea is one such hotel. We immediately could appreciate the advantage of doing this. It is a relatively calm and peaceful experience that allows you to truly relax and unwind. But I must mention an important point: You will exercise your lungs on every walk back to the hotel! It is a fairly steep walk from the beach front. Doing this at any time between 9am and 6pm will also be a hot and sweaty experience! We embraced this fact and started each day by taking a walk around the village at around sunrise. It was relatively cool and fresh and we could experience the wonderful sunrise. On return to the hotel, we were good and ready for the excellent breakfast that Antinea offers. This quickly became our daily routine and allowed us to feel less "guilty" about eating a full and varied breakfast! If you are put off by the location's elevation above the village, you should consider renting a scooter/ATV/car. There is parking behind the hotel. The hotel itself, is wonderfully "assymetric"! Each room has an almost unique aspect and vantage point. We chose a "simple" suite with a balcony only. The gem for us was the second pool located right next to our room. This pool is much smaller than the main one but was perfect for the frequent dips to cool off. We were often the only people there and at times felt like it was our own private pool!! We, of course, were just lucky as the "secret" soon comes out and other guests discover this too! There are only six sunbeds around this pool and only two umbrellas, so get here early to claim your sunbeds! The main pool and bar area is lovely too and probably suits most people who want to enjoy a pool day with closeness to the bar for refreshments. Our room was clean, comfortable and everything worked as expected. The wifi was the best we have experienced in any hotel on Santorini. We missed a kettle to make tea/coffee. The housekeeping was very good.Small criticism of the water pressure which could vary from ok to almost non-existant.The evening restaurant was pretty good but fairly limited. I rarely saw more than one or two couples eating there so definitely good for a quiet and "cozy" meal. The day bar service is very good and friendly. All the staff here work hard to make your stay enjoyable. I always like to engage with the staff as most appreciate this. For those who love walking/hiking, Antinea is perfectly located for a couple of quite challenging walks up the Mesa Vuono mountain to visit Ancient Thira or walk to Perissa. There is also a natural water spring half way up the mountain right above the hotel. All in all, Antinea deserves its rating and we loved out stay here. It may not be for everyone though, for the reasons I have mentioned above.
