    Small & very friendly

    rating18 Oct 2025

I was disappointed to read some of the reviews on this hotel so decided to write about our experience. We stayed in late September, we chose Areti as it was cheap but near the town. It is a 2 Star hotel , if you book it don't expect luxury, if you want that , book a 4 star near the beach and pay twice as much.We were in room 35 which had a small balcony overlooking the pool and sea beyond, then a side view to the hills. Although there was a road in front it didn't disturb us. The airport is a small distance away, I'm surprised that people complain about the cockerels ( which I found endearing - we were in the village after all!) but not mentioning the aeroplanes passing by intermittently.I required an extra pillow and milk for my tea which Nicole provided with a smile. There were kettles available at reception if you needed one ( I took my own).Although the bathroom had a small shower and curtain that stuck to you it was clean and our room was serviced by a very hard working lady every day.We had fresh towels and bed made on our return to the room in the afternoon.I would recommend this hotel if you want a cheap break in the sun near to all of the wonderful bars & restaurants in Kamari, they are a short walk away. Thanks Nicole & team, we had a great week 👍.

    DON’T DO IT!!!!

    rating29 Sept 2025

We were booked at the Areti Hotel, which was advertised as a 3-star property. In reality, we would rate it as a 1-star at best. The hotel felt more like an outdated apartment complex than a hotel — with fewer than 10 rooms and neglected grounds. The flowers surrounding the pool looked as though they hadn’t been tended in years, and the general atmosphere was uninviting from the moment we arrived. Our room was disappointing in nearly every way. The beds were extremely small and uncomfortable — even someone of short stature would have trouble sleeping soundly in them. The bathroom was in very poor condition, featuring a tiny shower with a flimsy plastic curtain that clung to us while showering unless left open, which then caused major flooding on the floor. The lack of a mop or proper drainage made this a daily issue. When we asked for fresh towels to help clean up, we were told towels are only replaced every two days — and even then, by 8 a.m. on day two, housekeeping still hadn’t made their rounds.More troubling than the discomfort, however, was the complete lack of communication or support. We received no welcome letter, no emergency contact information, no basic instructions — not even a check-in form or ID request. The front desk closed and locked up by 6:00 p.m. each day, and there were no phones in the room to contact anyone in case of need. When we reported that our in-room safe was broken, the staff told us to wait for a technician “in the morning.” That technician never arrived, and the issue was never resolved. The property’s cleanliness and maintenance were unacceptable. Our bathroom floor had visible mold, likely due to the constant water overflow from the shower. On our final day, housekeeping never serviced our room — the bed was unmade, dirty coffee cups were left behind, and the garbage had not been emptied once during our entire stay.Adding to the discomfort, the property backed onto what appeared to be a small farm, and every morning starting around 4:00 a.m., a rooster crowed non-stop — making sleep nearly impossible. As for the complimentary “hot breakfast,” it included toast, yogurt, cold cuts, and cut-up hot dogs. This was well below even the most basic standards of a 3-star hotel breakfast. We ultimately chose to extend our rental car on the last day so we could explore the island rather than spend unnecessary time at the “resort” — which, frankly, we now refer to as an apartment rental. We strongly suggest NOT to book your stay at the Areti.

    Not worth the money

    rating22 Jun 2025

The rooms were small and weary. Worst thing were the uncomfortable beds! I woke up in the morning with an aching back. The breakfast was lame, just some bread w cheese/ham or yoghurt. The location is ok, not too far from the beach and shops. The pool water seemed a bit dirty.

    Far better nearby

    rating01 Dec 2024

Rubbish , compared to three yrs ago. Uninterested manager , was once lovely poolside now dead plants and generally in dissaray. Basement rear facing rooms no better than a two star at most. Drab , but some may like the quieter location as ten minutes from the start of the beach

Areti Hotel or should it be Apartments?

    rating15 Sept 2024

Firstly: we had a great time in Santorini. Just a few honest things to point out about the Areti Hotel....It should be called Areti Apartments as it doesn't resemble a hotel in any way. Here's why:Terrible beds....see picture. Our slats were to short for base and kept falling through to floorReception closed all pm so any help is not available including Jet2 info locked in Reception so can't be used or readNo information in rooms or telephone so in an emergency you'd have a problem.Same breakfast every dayGot told off by resident bar man for drinking water not purchased at hotelA great deal of noise from overhead aircraftJust not a holiday pleasing "hotel" really.. overvto you though.....you might have different views.... Good luck!
