    Wonderful hotel

    rating03 Sept 2017

Such a lovely hotel, the staff were brilliant - nothing was too much trouble for them. If you are planning on going to Santorini and don't want to spend too much then this hotel is perfect - very clean, tidy and a lovely, quiet pool area. The rooms are very basic, but that was all we wanted - very nicely decorated. We got a 'cave' like room which is exactly what we wanted in Santorini! Even the bathroom was in a small cave/stone area.Breakfast was basic but there was a shop about 3 minutes walk away, a lovely bakery opposite and a bus stop very close that will take you to Fira or Oía for around €2/€4.Can't recommend this hotel enough - would encourage anyone to stay here if you want a relaxing time and really want to get a feel for Santorini!

    Very Enjoyable Stay

    rating11 Jun 2017

We've just arrived back from Santorini and stayed at this hotel which is now named Fenix, which we found out on arrival. There was confusion over our booking but we were ushered to our room and the staff sorted this out the next day. As stated in other reviews, the rooms are very basic with limited storage space and we had a room with the bedroom on a mezzanine level with the toilet downstairs, which isn't ideal and particularly safe in the night. However this didn't spoil our week. The pool and grounds are lovely all amongst a plethora of trees with the mountains as a backdrop. Being early June, not the high season, the hotel was pretty quiet and we had three or four days when we were around the pool with only a few other people. As it was our 25th Wedding Anniversary on the 5th June, I asked if they could cover the room in flowers and provide a bottle of champagne which they duly obliged and couldn't have been more helpful throughout the day. Breakfast is a bit basic really but always topped up, continental in style which you expect. Manos seemed to be the main man and was forever helpful should you need assistance both day and night, not sure when he slept. The hotel is on the main road and about a 10 minute walk to the beach and main restaurants but if you want somewhere a bit quieter this is ideal.Even on the last night when our transfer forgot to pick us up to return to the airport, the staff couldn't have been more helpful in organising a replacement which took us on time for our plane. This hotel is a lovely place to stay, but if you want luxury in Santorini, you'll have to pay for it. Fenix is value for money and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The Staff were polite, friendly and attentive, the pool was fantastic, vast stay of food at breakfast, rooms were basic but we were happy to call it home for a week. After checkout we were able to use all the hotel facilities, including shower room to freshen up before our flight home. 10 minute walk to the main beach and strip of bars and restaurants.

    Everything we needed :)

Stayed here for 10 days, this is probably one of the best Greek hotels I have stayed in. I never have huge expectations for Greek hotels as they are usually pretty basic and a bit old fashioned however the crystal palace exceeded expectations. Firstly the room; it was clean, modern good bathroom facilities with proper drainage (unlike most Greek hotels I've stayed in!) we stayed in a pool facing room so I can't comment on any noise from the road as we didn't experience any, the only complaint would be the lack of storage space for clothes etc. If your particularly fussy then just pack a few extra coat hangers! The pool was great although we never really stayed at the hotel in the day there always seemed sunbeds available the pool was large and clean. The breakfast at the hotel was basic and not the best so we tended just to have something from the lovey bakery a minute away from the hotel. Location wise yes the hotel is on a busy road but if you have road sense this road is not at all an issue. The beach is a 10 minute walk away where there is lots of affordable restaurants and quirky beach bars. Thira about a 20 min quad/bike ride away and Oia 40 mins so in a good location to both explore the island and relax at the beach. The hotel staff were helpful and able to advise us on the local bus and arrange our airport transfers. Our flight home wasn't until 10pm but we were able to leave our belongings at the hotel following 11am checkout and shower and change in the poolside shower following a day at the beach.Would definafley recommend as a place to stay.

We travelled out to Santorini to get married in June and I am so glad we chose this hotel! The staff could not do enough for us and were so helpful on the wedding day and for the duration of our stay. Rooms were always clean, the pool area is AMAZING and they make some pretty decent cocktails! The hotel is in a great location, 10 minute walk from the beach and main restaurants and a short drive from Fira and Pyrgos. You can hire a quad bike on the same road which is great for getting around the island. Some people had mentioned the lack of food/bar snacks, the staff were always more than happy to order us takeaways to the hotel and there is a 24hr bakery and co op just a few minutes walk away. I couldn't recommend this hotel more, thank you for helping to make our wedding week so amazing, we will definitely be back!
