Pleasant Experience
03 May 2026
We had a very nice stay at the Crowne Plaza. Everyone on the staff was very helpful. They let me practice my Spanish but helped when I got stuck and had to switch to English. The room was very comfortable and room service was good. I will definitely consider them again for future trips.

Helpful Staff - Quiet and Convenient Hotel
26 Mar 2026
My sister and I had a very early flight to return home, so we stayed at the Crown Plaza, as it is close to the airport.Check-in was fast and easy. The staff members were nice and helpful. The room was clean and quiet. It was all we needed for a good sendoff. One Note of Caution: They provide a QR at the front desk so that you can book a shuttle to the airport. It did not dawn on me that I had a choice of either booking a shuttle from the airport to the hotel as well as from the hotel to the airport. Sadly, I accidentally booked it to go from the airport to the hotel. When we got downstairs the morning of our flight, I asked the associate where we needed to wait for the shuttle. She looked at our reservation and told me of my mistake. Fortunately, she called a cab for us and we were on our way within just a few minutes. So, look very carefully at the direction when booking the shuttle.

Pleasant one-night stay, iffy neighborhood.

The inside of the hotel is quite nice. Rooms are well furnished, good amenities - gym, common areas, restaurant, staff all very pleasant. The location, though, is right on the highway and in a very run down neighborhood. After checking in, we wanted to go into Madrid for the afternoon. That involved a walk to a nearby bus stop to get to the metro, passing some sketchy areas. (Took a taxi back)There is an occasional paid shuttle to the airport so the location is fairly convenient if the goal is a nice room to catch an early flight.

Never again.

The shuttle never arrived at the airport. When I arrived by taxi to the hotel I wanted to cancel the shuttle order and the receptionist said she couldn't find it. She finally told me she cancelled it but I never received proof.I checked in and was surprised to find out breakfast was not included. I think your description of your hotel is misleading as it says under amenities "wake up to breakfast". Ok fine maybe I am mistaken. I know I wouldn't have booked here if it weren't. The only package you have that includes breakfast is a dinner breakfast for 299 which seems exorbitant. But that's your business. As soon as I opened the room door I received a message that my stay is coming to an end and to pay my invoice at checkout...an invoice I already paid at checkin.. I got another similiar notice a half hour later. Excellent hospitality. Luckily at least the room is inviting although the shower is extremely slippery and dangerous. And the coffee maker covered in dust. But the tipping point and why I write is this:Tonight I have had probably one of the worst dining experiences of my life. Fast food would have been better experience. My order came out wrong and my husband's was undercooked. Mine finally came out and was actually good. My husband's was a tiny serving of fish once they recooked it. He actually had to buy snacks from the vending machine because the portion was that ridiculous. But I can look past this. What I can't look past is for the last hour and a half your bartender kept serving a belligerent drunk and the drunk was yelling about American politics and the baltic mafia and using the foulest language possible. Not one of your staff did a n y t h i n g about it to diffuse his behavior. Not one. I tried placing a complaint on line because your staff disappeared...the bot didn't know what to do with imy complaint and kept asking for my contact. I finally complained to a waitress and they sent the bartender to placate me. Couldn't do anything about the drunk so might as well handle me "The drunk is a long term guest, nothing you can do about it. Represents a lot of business for the hotel". I really felt like your bartender could have cared less about how insulted I was by the scene I endurex. Told me he can't control what a guest says. I don't think you need to control what your guests say but I do think there is a code of conduct that in a society we all need to respect. I am fairly certain other guests were as uncomfortable as I was. My husband left the table because he was concerned he would have to confront him as the drunk wandered table to table and interfaced with anyone who made eye contact with him. There was no manager available. I asked the bartender for their name and he refused, took my email instead. I refused to pay the check. I went to the front desk to complain. The receptionist had the gall to say me that the guy wasn't talking to me so it's not my problem. Really? Again...a lot of nerve especially seeing that I am upset. I was sitting 15 feet away from the man forced to listen to it. So you better believe your hotel did make it my business. No one from your staff checked on us for that hour and a half we were there in the restaurant after we got thr food.. Although they definitely knew there was a problem. The bartender even said he knew the guy was a mess but it's Saturday night...which I guess makes sense to you...not me.Tonight was the end of a 2 week trip we had to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We had an incredible time up until tonight. What should have been a simple meal, shower and sleep to take a long 10 hour flight tomorrow was truly ruined. I am still shaking as I write this.I stopped using IHG years ago, the service is usually subpar. I mistakenly gave you a second chance and truly wish I hadn't. I was upset enough but your staff truly made the experience even worse if that were possible

Dear Mrs. Villar,Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with us. After carefully reviewing your reservation and the details of your stay, I would like to clarify a few points for your peace of mind.Regarding the shuttle service, the corresponding amount was cancelled and refunded correctly by our reception team. Concerning the rate, your reservation corresponds to a room‑only stay for a total of €117, without breakfast included. I kindly invite you to review the confirmation you received in order to verify this information. Should you find any indication that breakfast was included in your booking, please feel free to share it with us by email, and we will proceed with the corresponding refund immediately. With respect to the automatic message you received upon arrival, please note that it is a standard system communication designed to streamline the check‑out process and minimise waiting times. I understand it may have caused some inconvenience, and I appreciate you bringing it to our attention.Regarding your experience in the restaurant, please allow me to clarify that our team did not observe any behaviour that breached our internal code of conduct. We regret that another guest’s conversation made you feel uncomfortable; in situations such as the one you described, the most appropriate solution would have been to offer a table change to ensure a more pleasant evening. As a gesture of courtesy, your beverages and dessert were invited that night.Additionally, during the check‑out process, our reception team approached you with the intention of assisting you personally and addressing any questions or concerns you might have had. However, you informed us that you did not have time to discuss the matter at that moment. We sincerely appreciate you sharing your perspective, as it helps us review the facts and continue improving our procedures. I hope this information has been helpful, and we remain at your disposal should you have any further questions.Crowne Plaza Madrid Airport

This is at the end of teh runway at MAdrid airport. right on the motorway network for quick access around MAdrid. Very quiet rooms and good sleep, but you are stranded in an industrial estate ... no bars or restaurants within walking distance
