    If you want to be just a short block from the pedestrian area, this is the place you should book. The location is wonderful for sightseeing and shopping.The staff is friendly and helpful. I had room 306 which was set up with king size bed, sofa, table with two chairs, and a desk and desk chair. The large TV had numerous English speaking channels (including CNN), lots of Spanish stations, as well as Netflix, Prime Video and other pay-per-view stations.There is a coffee set up, and two bottles of water are provided each day.This room was extremely comfortable, and received a lot of light. The view is of the roof of the building across the street and nearby buildings -not that great, but quiet. The buffet breakfast is very good and includes an egg chef. I had two other meals in the hotel restaurant and they were very good.I would stay here again.

    It was a horrible experience staying at MEXICO: HOLIDAY INN GUADALAJARA CENTRO HISTORICO, this is an IHG hotel! I've been staying at hoteles IHG for many years.Imagine a room without air conditioning, without a refrigerator, completely filthy, and the staff and managers (Bruno and Carlos) were arrogant and offered absolutely no customer service.They gave me a room with no light, overlooking an internal hallway. The entire hotel is old and poorly maintained. What happened, IHG?     They must substantially improve the cleanliness with attention to detail in the bathroom, sheets, and pillows （hotel smells dirty. The overall customer service is by far the worst comparable to other experiences I've had at IHG hotels. For example, they made a mistake in the charge when I checked in, they didn't open the voucher properly, and they still haven't sent me the invoice for the hotel service. In the restaurant, they treated me like a criminal, except for the waitress Isabela, who noticed the treatment received and improved the service. During room service, the food I ordered arrived, but without cutlery, etc. Noise level from the street is high. Overall atmosphere requires attention to safety, cleanliness, customer service orientation. Very old, outdated and barely maintained hotel.     The hotel is old and needs a good renovation. They take too long to send the invoices and I had to make a lot of calls to get my invoices.     The hotel is conveniently located in the Centro Historico area. We were only there one night but we had a great experience. The bellman met us outside and took care of the luggage. The receptionist was courteous. We had room service and enjoyed dinner. Breakfast in the hotel the next morning was not great. The hot items were room temperature. I think the hotel was a good deal and would stay again. We have very limited Spanish (working on it). We only ordered entrees for two but ended up with three from room service but we are taking the blame for that.
