  This hotel is in a perfect location if you have reason to be at the university. The service and the staff were top-notch. There is a shuttle available upon request which took me to the university and picked me up at a location that I specified when I called them. The location is in the college town section of the university and there are lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. I know there is food available for breakfast complementary but I did not take part.We had a two bedded room with two queens that was very spacious and comfortable. The place is very clean and very modern.They give you a parking pass to put on your dashboard, and despite all the businesses surrounding the hotel, I had no problem finding a parking space.I would return here in a minute if I had business at the university or in this area of town.

  Perfect place to stay while visiting Univ Rochester

  We stayed here while visiting university of Rochester and it was perfect. The room was big with a really nice chaise lounge chair and also a desk and desk chair. The bathroom was big and clean with a great shower. The Grappa restaurant is delicious and it’s right in college town near stores and only 10 min drive to the Univ Rochester River campus.

  Disappointing customer service

  We stayed at this hotel (repeat guests) this week. We have always loved this hotel for its location and amenities. This past visit was a disappointment and we won’t be back. Here is why….the rooms are showing wear and tear for the high price point and the staff didn’t care about their guests and did nothing to make you feel welcome at the hotel. We never got a ‘welcome back’ or a ‘ thanks for being a Hilton Honors member’ or ‘how is your stay’? The manager was at the front desk when I was in line to get my parking pass for the lot after first arriving. Never acknowledged any of us in line or say ‘someone will be right with you’ or ‘how can I help’? I passed him in the hall later that day and he didn’t make any attempt to say hi or ask how our stay was going. The cleaning service crew are rude and obnoxious. We slept in on our first morning (9 am) . One of the cleaning staff put the door lock in the doorway of each room they were cleaning and let the door slam on it …,repeatedly…bam…bam…bam. It was so loud and obnoxious. Another person was speaking on their speaker phone while on full volume. Another was blasting music on her phone in the hallway while cleaning the rooms. The woman who cleaned our room glared at me after knocking on the door and didn’t say a single word to me and was impatient for me to exit the room, which we did as soon as she knocked. I said hello, how are you, etc….and she just glared at me, not saying single word. During our 3 night stay, we were shorted coffee, floor mats for the shower, and the bar soap for the sink was removed during our last night and not replaced with another soap. The overall lack of customer service and rudeness was unbelievable and beyond me.

  A great stay near Strong Memorial Hospital

  Very nice stay next to Strong Memorial Hospital where we had an appointment. The staff are friendly and professional. Our room wasn't ready (we arrived early). The woman at the front desk found a similar room that was ready. (I did the e-check in the night before and picked my room.) The room was very clean and well stocked. The beds are super comfortable. They have an indoor pool and in house restaurant, Grappa Italian restaurant. As expected, a little pricy as it's in the hotel. However, there are other options nearby. (I will make another review for Grappa, separately.)

  "No Show" Charge - Unauthorized Booking

  When I called the hotel for pricing they asked for my credit card number and Hilton Honors number to give me the cheapest rates. After I was given a high rate; I called a different location and made reservations in Victor, NY. Three days later I saw that they charged a "no show" fee to my credit card. I never authorized and agreed to a booking; only a price check and any incidentals that would be charged to my card. They said that since I gave them my card number that I agreed to the booking. That was not correct. I did get an email confirmation for the reservation, but never looked at it because I thought it was for the Hilton Garden Inn at the Victor location that I booked instead. They refused to refund me and said it must have been my mistake. Hilton does not value their customers and I have heard other complaints about this at the same location.
