  Lovely small hotel and fabulous holiday.

  Fantastic two weeks spent at this lovely small and friendly hotel. Overall experience was excellent. Fabulously comfortable sun beds. Never had a problem getting a sunbed. Comfortable room although the shower was on the small side and was a struggle for my husband who couldn’t fit under it (he is 6’6). Short walk to the front with a scattering of tavernas. I have mild mobility problems and managed but if you struggle with steps this might be an issue for you. Short walk into Skiathos town. We used the bus at times which runs regularly. The breakfast at the hotel was fantastic with lots of choice. The food at the Black Pepper restaurant was excellent but limited choice if you are vegetarian or vegan. We cannot fault all the staff who worked hard to make our holiday memorable for all the right reasons. They were very helpful and friendly. Thank you to all.

  Wonderful time at the Avaton Hotel

  My wife and I have just returned from a holiday in Skiathos at the excellent Avaton Hotel. Sergio the hotel manager was amazing, making sure we really enjoyed all that Skiathos had to offer. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly, always making us welcome at every opportunity. Spacial thanks to Artea for giving me a Greek dance lesson, also getting me involved in the rock night. The hotel was kept very clean at all times, our room was comfortable and quiet. Thanks to everyone at the hotel for an exceptional experience.Andy and Sharon.   Rural feel but close to everything

  We recently stayed at Skiathos Avaton Garden for a week. The hotel was recommended to me by a friend who had stayed in the villas further up the road.We absolutely loved the hotel, it was really small and quiet. It felt almost rural overlooking lush green hills with occasional visits from roaming chickens but the main road and supermarket were less than a 2 minute walk away, the beach and bus stop both a 5 minute walk and ideally located for a stroll into Skiathos Town which took about 15 minutes. Sergio goes out of his way to make all guests feel welcome, greeting guests on arrival, chatting to everyone at breakfast and being there at departure. It’s the first time a hotel manger has ever hugged me as I left which was nice.We stayed in a suite with a whirlpool, both the room and the balcony were big with a day bed and bistro set on the balcony as well as the whirlpool. There was even enough space for us to do morning yoga.The pool area is small which was ideal for us. For the first half of our holiday there was no mad rush to ‘claim’ a sunbed but as people left and new people arrived there suddenly seemed to be an influx of towels being placed on the sunbeds before breakfast but as we preferred the day beds we never had any trouble though we often only spent a couple of hours by the pool before heading out. Breakfast is plentiful with lots of options. My only criticism is that the tea cups were far too small and the hot water machine filled them to the brim. I lost a lot of tea in the saucer walking back to my table.We used the poolside bar a couple of times for lunch and a drink. Good choice on the menu.We had pre booked a couple of excursions through ‘get your guide’ before visiting Skiathos but I noted we could have booked them through the hotel for less so we will know for next time.Thank you to Sergio and all the staff for a wonderful stay.   Greece never Fails

  A fantastic stay in a beautiful locationWe’ve had a fabulous stay and honestly couldn’t fault the hotel. Our room had a beautiful sea view, was comfortable and spotlessly clean, with housekeeping coming in every day.The breakfasts were superb, with a fantastic choice each morning and something to suit everyone. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, but a special mention has to go to the manager, who was so helpful and knowledgeable about the island and local area. Nothing was too much trouble, and his recommendations really helped us make the most of our stay.The pool area was lovely and peaceful, which was perfect for relaxing after a day exploring.The location is fantastic too — just a short stroll to the beach, bars and restaurants, while Skiathos Town is only about 1.5 miles away and easily reachable on foot if you fancy a walk. There’s also a bus stop very close by, with regular and inexpensive buses running around the island, making it really easy to get out and explore.The whole hotel has such a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, and we’ve really enjoyed our time here. We’d happily return and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a lovely, peaceful base in Skiathos.   Just wonderful!

  We had an amazing time here. The room was great with a lovely balcony and sea view. It was very clean and serviced every day - our cleaner did a fantastic job!The pool was lovely with plenty of extremely comfortable sun loungers.The bar and restaurant were lovely. The food was fantastic and the drinks, particularly the cocktails, went down extremely well. Breakfast was exceptional and the baked cheese in the restaurant is an absolute must. The 'Greek Night' was a particular highlight.It was only a short walk to the beach with a wide range of restaurants available and only a short taxi ride from the town and port.However, the thing that made the holiday incredible was the staff. They were all absolutely amazing. The welcome from the manager, Sergio, immediately made us comfortable and we were looked after brilliantly throughout, nothing was too much trouble - even booking taxis to pick us up from wherever we were. The bar staff deserve a particular mention - even making us bespoke cocktails and taking the trouble to get to know our drinking habits! Everyone played their part in making this a really special holiday.Thank you to Sergio, Artea, and everyone at Avaton. We'll be back!
