  Good hotel

  we have been to Skiathos several times and always stayed in different hotels, however after staying in the Palace we would probably return for the view alone. our room was a reasonable size with a pleasant balcony with the afore said view. The bathroom was a good size with bath and shower. Importantly the room was quiet we were not disturbed by any loud noises, probably the efficient AC had something to do with that. The room was kept clean and tidy, the beds comfortable which was a blessing for me as I do not sleep very well. On the whole the service was good. Breakfast was a bit of a bunfight as there were a lot of people staying at the hotel. However there was plenty of food and efficient waiters. The bar by the pool was very pleasant. We went a couple of times in the early evening and it felt quite luxurious. Just one downside was the waitress who served us the drinks was compelled to say "here is another glass of wine" and that was for my second glass. Did not go back again after that. I booked for a birthday treat for my husband a reservation at the White restaurant on our last night. The service was second to none and the food amazing. Just a bit disappointed they ignored the occasion. I did mention it was his birthday when I filled in the booking form. It is probably the best hotel we have stayed in in the four years we have been visiting Skiathos.

  Fantastic location overlooking Koukounaries beach and the Aegean Sea, lovely atmosphere around the hotel and pool bar area.Our room ( 426 ) was a nice size and well appointed, overlooking the garden, our only disappointment was the lack of electric plug sockets, only two in the bedroom, you could not plug the kettle in anywhere on the dressing table. The toilet and shower were good, as was the bath.The hotel is absolutely spotless, the staff never stop cleaning. The pool bar is lovely and the staff are excellent, we liked the way the atmosphere changed in the evening with the use of table lighting. We booked a table at the restaurant upstairs, The White Grill, that was also fantastic with superb food and great service.The pool was super clean with ample comfortable sun beds and umbrellas, we found signing for our beach towels a bit of a pain each day.The complementary bus to the beach was most useful, the driver Yanis was so helpful on every trip. Our only criticism was the courtesy bus stoped at 6pm, if you went out in the evening, the climb back up the hill was difficult, especially for older guests.The front reception ladies were always there to help with any questions we had, a special note to Dementre, she had so much local knowledge, and helped us find our way around the island.On the day of our checking out it was raining very hard, the manager Mr George helped us to the coach with our luggage, giving us umbrellas. As we left the hotel some of the staff came out side to wave us all goodbye. We had a super time at the skiathos place. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

  Friendly and knowledgeable staff, good service throughout. Rooms very good and excellent views. Located on the hillside giving wonderful views of the bay and marvellous sunsets to the west.

The view was absolutely lovely which is definitely this hotels usp, location was great also for access to Koukanaris beach via steps. Unfortunately the hotel is relying on this one element too heavily and falling short on to many other elements to honestly justify its 4 star rating.The quality and choice of the food offering is just not good enough ( see attached photos) , cheap ingredients poorly cooked with too much repetition.Breakfast ; omelettes cooked en mass and placed in ceramic trays barely warm as are all storage trays…bacon grey limp and hardly touched by any guests every morning. Bread selection was good and always fresh, Greek yogurt was delish, choice of only 3 cereals but you could add bits and pieces to them. If you are going to provide fruit juice then supply fruit juice and not squash every day.Dinner: Again very limited hot food choice that was of poor quality, seriously a choice of two veg which was always either tinned carrots and broccoli or tinned carrots and sweetcorn… just not good enough!! A choice of 4 deserts very similar every night, never saw a scoop of ice cream all week.No themed nights here with every nights offering very similar and after a couple of days we struggled to make a meal so ate out in Skiathos town taverna’s which was always delicious. And on half board we have never not had any drink provided with our evening meal, whether that be the house wine, tea or coffee or even just water for the table…. All of these are chargeable at Skiathos palace so be warned! Having read some of the previous reviews I do wonder if we stayed at the same hotel!!!Our room had an amazing view of koukanaris beach which we loved, but was very dated and always very dark. We had requested a double bed, but on arrival discovered it was a twin room and also there was no bath plug provided. But we have to praise the staff for their prompt response when made aware as within a few hours a bath plug was provided and the twin beds converted into a double via a mattress topper. The staff were lovely, always friendly and smiling even though this was right at the end of a long season for them. There was always a musty smell in the room which other guests had said was present in theirs also, also a small open grated drain under the loo which caused a sewerage smell briefly every time the bath was emptied!Lovely island, lovely beaches, lovely Skiathos town and we had some amazing food, unfortunately none of it at our hotel!Sorry but this is our honest opinion and I have informed Jet2 via their survey they sent me that this is not a 4 star hotel in our opinion and other guests we spoke with!!!

  Beautiful Hotel

  Please ignore all the negative reviews. This hotel is in a beautiful location, stunning scenery. The staff are very attentive & helpful. We had an Executive Plus Room with Panoramic Sea View. The room was gorgeous. We had a mini bar that was refreshed every day with soft drinks & bottled water. We had a kettle supplied with tea bags & coffee, we bought fresh milk from the supermarket. The bathroom was a good size with a powerful rainfall shower head & loads of hot water. We had two sunbeds on our balcony that were thick & comfortable. We had full sun from 11am to late evening. The pool & sun loungers were very clean & comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, it had everything you would have wanted. Evening meals were delicious too. Daily complimentary shuttle to Skiathos Town was a bonus. Really can't fault this hotel. We loved our stay!
