  Very Noisy Hotel in the Wrong Area of Town

  We stayed at the Met for a week. There are good things and bad to comment on. Firstly the good. The breakfast is very good with a large choice. The staff are very polite and helpful. The shower in the room is exceptional. The hotel is very modern and stylish in its design.Now the bad. The hotel is very noisy. Last Sunday evening there was an event on at the rooftop pool bar. The music was so loud you could hear it everywhere in the hotel and went on until midnight. That was bad enough without guests shouting at the top of their voices in the corridors and slamming doors well into the early hours. There are maintenance problems in the hotel rooms. The air conditioning is very noisy and without it the room is very hot. There are flickering lights that need their lamps changing. There are so many switches in the room for various lights, you either try to remember which switches do what or go through a dozen switches to find the light you want. The door lock is a trial, it took one of the cleaning staff to show us that you need to pull the door then push to get into the room. You then need to shut the door 2 or 3 times before the catch engages. This explains why other guests needed to slam their doors in the middle of the night. The sound proofing of the rooms is poor with the ability to hear every word spoken in neighbouring rooms and in the corridor outside.The location of the hotel is a real problem, there is a shuttle bus into the city, but the times change daily. The area around the hotel is scruffy and there are gangs of men with loud music from their cars in the early hours of the morning in the car park next door.If you are visiting on a city break, I recommend you stay at a hotel nearer the city.   One of the better hotels

  Location is a 30 minute walk to the city centre but it is not an interesting walk.The hotel provides a shuttle bus to and from Aristotle Square daily. This sets this hotel apart from others.The atmosphere is a little dark but the views from the rooftop bar and pool which provides great music and food though my Margarita came only half full, that was disappointing.The rooms are a good size and the balcony could do with a small table and a chair. The bathroom was also a good size but lacking a shower head and only a hand held hose which was difficult to navigate when washing your hair.The service was incredible but we have had better breakfasts.   The hotel staff stole my jacket from my room after check out and the manager on the desk did nothing about it - other than to tell me I was mistaken. ?????t?? ???s?????, Ge????? ??e????t?? at The Met Hotel, responded to this review Dear Guest,We are responding after some time, as we had extensive correspondence with you regarding the missing jacket and took the matter seriously from the outset.Following our internal review, we found no evidence to support the allegation that any member of our team was involved.   Magical stay!

  We had an incredible week at this hotel. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and safety. My daughter had an allergic reaction to nuts at an outdoor restaurant, and the staff promptly and efficiently provided assistance. We are incredibly grateful for their help.Every person we encountered at the hotel was welcoming and helpful. The lobby’s sleek design was impressive, and breakfast was a delightful experience in the outdoor courtyard. We were fortunate to have Rafail as our waiter, who did an outstanding job. The breakfast was a feast of local Greek flavors.Our room was spacious and modern, with a spotless bathroom featuring a walk-in shower. The hotel also boasts a beautiful rooftop with a swimming pool.Conveniently located 20 minutes’ walk from the city center, the hotel offers a comfortable shuttle bus that runs every hour. Parking is available at a low cost within the hotel.We had a wonderful stay and can’t wait to return next year.

  Stylish hotel with great rooms

  Modern, stylish hotel. Room was excellent, plenty of space. Large, smart bathroom with great shower and separate bath. Good storage. Air conditioning effective. Wi-Fi slow at times. Coffee maker and kettle. Small fridge. Comfortable large bed. Room seemed to be very soundproof. Breakfast was excellent. Reception staff were excellent. The hotel is situated about 30 mins walk away from the main restaurant area but a cab is only 4-5 euros. Although a shuttle runs it is only every hour and goes to the main square.One issue for us was that although pool area on the top floor is nice, you have to like constant loud music, not chill out which one would have thought more appropriate. In fact it’s difficult to find anywhere in the hotel where music is not playing. If you want to read or simply relax I couldn’t find anywhere, other than the room, where there was no musicSmall point, we had a free bottle of water on our first day expecting this to be a daily service but it wasn’t. Come on Met Hotel this should be standard.
