Not long been back from a lovely 2 weeks in Kalamaki and our stay at the Metaxa. On arrival check in swift and simple, wanted the Aircon which was 70 euros a week. The reception area is quite dated as is the Hotel itself but it has everything you need and you get what you pay for, don't expect 5* at 2* prices.Location is really good just a short stroll and your on the beach or in other direction your at the start of the strip. Our room was 104 which was set up as a disabled room with bars around the toilet and shower. The room itself has a fridge and a TV, though god knows where the remote was??, it was clean but the decor was an aquired taste, the storage was good one large wardrobe with drawers and the most coat hangers I've ever encountered. The only downsides really was there was no place to hang towels in the bathroom and the room only had 1 usualble plug socket.Balcony was cute, surrounded by grape vines which is nice until the ones above drop rotting grapes and leafs on top of you.The room was cleaned regularly with towels and bedding etc.The pool area is nice with the sun all day round with plenty of sun beds and pool accessories to use. The pool itself is spotlessly clean .We stayed BnB as it suits us as we like to get out and about all day. Breakfast is very repetitive with the only changes being 1 day you'll have fried eggs and the next they are boiled, one day you'll have mini croissants and the next cold cheese puff pies, then everything else is the same, bread, marble cake, salad, ham, cheese in honesty it was sufficient but we did go out a couple of times for a proper breakfast which we don't normally do.If you want a hotel with party atmosphere with things going on then isn't for you, if you want a cheap no frills completely quiet (except for the planes) relaxed holiday then give it a try.Would we return, definitely but wouldn't be our 1st choice.

Lovely stay at this family hotel , small and friendly! Great location , clean pool loads of Sunbed’s , great shower in the room. Breakfast was fine just the basics ,fruit, Greek yogurt, toast / bread and butter with Jam l, ham and cheese , plus eggs. which was fine for us. Would definitely recommend and return.

Good locationCleaning leaves a little to be desired.Shower screen and floor not cleaned the whole time we were here.Never saw pool area cleaned either.Could be a real little gem if just a little cleaner.

Very peaceful and relaxing place.Stayed here almost a week end may/june It's rather an unassuming set of apartments with clean & relatively modern showers & the cleaners are brilliant.The pool area is extremely clean and sunbed wars are none existent (you can get one anytime of day) it's in an extremely quiet area so it's relaxing ( we heard the odd takeoff and landing but to be honest the positioning 5 minutes to strip and 10 minutes to beach made up for it) its on a side road so little in way of traffic.It's the kind of place that's old style greece laid back quiet and most of the guests are repeats that go for the peace and quiet.Breakfast is just basic continental with the odd fried eggs thrown, greek yogurt, cereals & toast & you can have as little or as much as you like.Owner is a very nice greek man called Stellios and his manners and nature are impeccable.Would i return to these apartments (without out a doubt one of the most relaxing chilled out old style greek apartments we've been to & we've done lots of greek places).Noted a few 1 star reviews from some people (really).

Hotel was located 5 minutes walk from bars and restaurants 15 minutes walk to beach, rooms were clean with toilet and shower plus a fridge which was good continental breakfast was basic but they had a snack bar open all day which was ok well stocked fridge with ice cold drinks. But the highlight for us was the pool definitely the cleanest pool I've seen on holidays,we would definitely go back Stelios and his family were lovely.,
