  Disappointing stay

  I recently stayed at Onomo Hotel in Conakry and, unfortunately, the experience was disappointing despite a few positives.The airport pickup arrived a bit late, but I didn’t have to wait long, which I appreciated. However, things went downhill at check‑in when the front desk staff member was rude, creating a negative first impression. My room had hair strands on the bed, and the bed sheet also had visible stains. It took a while for someone to be sent, which was difficult as I was exhausted from travel. The staff member who eventually came also struggled to understand that I needed the entire bedding changed, not just part of it, though it was eventually sorted out.The next day, another staff member was genuinely helpful — he arranged a room change and later called to check if everything was fine. Unfortunately, the new room also had issues. I found a cockroach in the room and a urine stain on the toilet seat. On one of the days, housekeeping removed my towel and didn’t replace it, so I had to ask the cleaning staff directly for a new one. The new room also had only a bath towel and no hand towel. The cleaning staff appeared irritated when asked to change the sheet, which made me uncomfortable reporting anything further.Breakfast was the same every day with no variation, and the complimentary coffee was extremely weak.While there were small positives, the overall experience highlighted consistent problems with cleanliness, staff attitude, and service reliability. The hotel has potential, but stronger quality control and better staff training are really needed for a more pleasant and dependable stay.

  Loved the beautiful plants and seating spaces in the lobby area and outdoor spaces. Buffet was good also. I look forward to staying there again in December of 2025

  Ok hotel, mediocre restaurant with crappy service

  The hotel itself is ok but the service is incredibly slow.Nice clean pool.The restaurant is probably the world record holder in slow service, well over one hour to get the food and the waiters hardly pays attention. The food is mediocre but the prices are high.As a summary, ok place to stay at but avoid the restaurant at any cost.

  Great hotel. Reasonable price. Friendly and accommodating staff. Comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Great food with buffet breakfast (included) and paying lunch & dinner. Nice pool and outdoor deck and beautiful gardens. Safe. Shops, restaurants and bank only five minutes walk to the right of the hotel. Only downside is the hotel gym - the worst i have ever seen with just dumbbells and no bench. Broken single treadmill and broken multi-use equipment. The room also smelled bad.I note some reviews mention issues with missing reservations or double booking but i didn’t experience this as booking reserved beforehand in person by a friend.

  The hotel double booked my room despite my paying in advance. I notified the hotel I would be arriving at 2 am. I arrived to learn that the hotel did not have a room for me nor did they seem to care. They never notified Expedia who had to contact them to give me a refund. They had no intention of refunding me since they never notified me or Expedia. I contacted the Management four+ times via email. No one responded. At 2:30 am I had to find a new hotel and thank goodness my guide was still with me. I would not book a room here.
