    Terrible experience

    rating19 Aug 2022

The room is small, which is normal for a place like hk. However, the layout is terrible, there’s a thick cupboard in the middle of the room! Which gives us no room to walk into the room properly. Bathroom is crazy small, bathing area you will bang you elbows to the window/the shower door. The room is not clean at all, there’s shower gel packet from last guest...

    Tinny rooms

    rating22 Jun 2019

The hotel rooms in HK are typically small. But this hotel offers amazingly tinny rooms. There is nearly no place to stand (~1sq.m) next to the bed. The chain is trying to compensate it by a tea making machine. Any way be prepared if you decided to stay in this place otherwise may be a shocking experience.

    Tiny, tiny room.

Firstly, this place is NOT The Bridal Tea House Hotel any more. It is Bluejay Residences. It is Not a boutique hotel, it is "long and short stay appartments". It has no restaurant or other facilities apart from provisions for a cup of black tea in the room. The bedroom and bathroom are so tiny only one person can move at a time. My husband was unable to lay full length on the bed and there was no space for our suitcases. The manager said to put them under the bed where there was a small space which was too small for all but 1 of our cases, these had to stay in the shower cubicle..The bedding was damp and the shower cubicle didn't look like it had been cleaned for a long while. We were supposed to stay 9 days but after 4 days we found another hotel and moved out.

Good value for HK, but cleaning needs improvement

    rating03 Jan 2018

Having read many reviews before booking, I was nervous about various aspects of the room. When I checked in I found a pretty decent room, but it is completely true that it is TINY. I don't think words could really describe it. I could only open my suitcase behind the door which meant the only way to go out was to repack or somehow close the suitcase up and stand it up (maybe also a fire safety issue?). And I have a medium size suitcase. There's no wardrobe per se to hang anything up. There are a few hangers but they are rather pointless because there's no space. That said, it is still good value for what you get. I got a reduced price as I was staying for 2 weeks but without that discounted price it might not be worth it. It would have been nice to be able to either put your stuff somewhere or have enough floor space to keep it open and accessible while still be able to get in and out of the room. The other downside is the cleaning which really wasn't up to par. The toilet including toilet seat were not clean when I checked in. I asked housekeeping the next morning to clean it and it was marginally better. The coffee cup and stir stick in the room were also covered in dust when I checked in and I was sufficiently grossed out to not touch them at all during my stay. Security is very good. I don't know if it is common in HK but with your room card you are only able to access the floor you are on. That's of course in addition to the actual security guard at the building. Almost all staff including the security guard were friendly. The location has already been mentioned by others and I do really think it's great. Can't get better than right out of the MTR station. You can leave your luggage after checking out and this was helpful as I had a night flight. The only thing is that there is no washroom that you could use so when I came back for my luggage and wanted to change into clean clothes, I had to go to the public toilets at the market nearby which wasn't great. Another perk that perhaps isn't advertised is that they can lend out a mobile phone for use during your stay but there might only be a couple so it is hit and miss whether you can get one. I was lucky and did get one.It would appear that regardless of the Trip Advisor Reviews, the response is simply a copy and paste of a standard response from the management, which is disappointing as it would indicate they didn't actually bother to read it or to actually respond to the issues raised. Some other reviews have pointed out thin walls and resulting poor quality of sleep but I did not have that experience. It was quiet and I slept fine. Although I indicated a variety of areas that could be improved I would most definitely stay there again if I were to visit. Worst accommodation ever.

    rating05 Dec 2017

I booked it through expedia, and it is non-refundable. However, the room is heavily molded. Please do not stay there. Even if we checked out immediately, Expedia and Bridal Tea House did not give us any refund nor apology. Please do not book this accommodation. My relative went there and stayed there for 2 weeks and got a fungal infection. Really really poor hygiene. Called Bridal Tea House and Expedia, both said they couldn't give us a refund. It is not acceptable. BTHHK, Guest Relations Manager at Bluejay Residences, responded to this review Dear Valued Guest,Greetings from Bridal Tea House Hotel Hong Kong!
