    Disappointing!

    We chose this hotel in the middle of our long holiday because we wanted a kitchenette, laundry and it could accommodate our family of 5. It started on a bad note where the taxi driver tried to trick us into paying extra for a very very short ride (no fault of the hotel) And as we entered the reception staff didn’t seem in a good mood either. It was as if they were doing a favor by checking us in. Not answering properly or even looking up when I asked them something. The concierge and cleaning staff was nice but the reception staff really needs training as to how to deal to customers. Very very disappointing! Whenever we called reception from the room the staff was either very curt, rude or answered in monosyllables. We have stayed here before but this was our first time experiencing this kind of horrible customer service.The room has a washing machine and kitchenette which was amazing because we wanted to do all our laundry and have a few days of eating home made meals. They also have a club house where the kids had a great time playing foosball, table tennis and getting massages in the massage chairs. They also have a gym and play area for younger kids. We just focused on the good things and avoided the reception staff as much as possible. They really were a sour patch on our otherwise great stay.Our experience here was a mixed bag.     I don't think this is a 4 star hotel it looked smart at the foyer but the room was definitely dated and not the cleaness. Book harbour side if possible as city side was so noisy with traffic noise that wearing ear plugs was essential.Location was fine. Service ok. Amtmosphere seemed unfriendly. Value poor.     Good basic accommodation with a few flaws

    Stayed here for 3 nights, the room was fine, AC worked well, shower was good. The shuttle service was great and the staff were helpful. The “club room” looked nice and the gym looked very well stocked. The pool was nice and the views from the room were great. But it was the little things that made the stay average; the bed was extremely hard (I know that some like that, but I don’t.), there were no towels or water station in the gym (no mats either). There was a kitchenette but no pots or plates (not that we would have used it). There was no easy way to find out how much the breakfast buffet cost or what it costs of. We only made it to the pool one time; our card keys didn’t work and we didn’t want to go through the hassle of figuring it out.     Well situated harbour front hotel on Kowloon

    Just returned on Sunday from 7 nights in a 2 bedroom suite (room 1617) with my partner and mother. Given the negative reviews, we were dubious about the standard of the hotel suites, but actually it was much better than expected. The suite looked exactly like the photos and both bedrooms had wardrobes and desks so plenty big enough. Yes, the beds were hard but we managed to sleep well. Aircon units provided in both bedrooms and living area. Yes, the sofa has no back cushions but we didn’t mind and there is a massive TV. The bathroom was clean and compact and we had fresh towels every day. The kitchen came equipped with kettle, mugs, classes, teaspoons, fridge and microwave. We used the laundry facility (6 x 5HKD coins for 30 minutes washing but didn’t bother with dryer). The pool was huge and just like the photos - I believe it had been recently renovated. To access the pool, you have to use your hotel room card to access the changing area (which was clean & very spa like). Pros:1. Harbour front view2. Free shuttle bus (1 every hour) to & from TST3. Swimming pool4. Layout of suite - perfect for 3 adults5. Fresh towels every day6. Kettle for tea making & large fridge for storing milk7. 100m from Hung Hom ferry terminal which took you to Central in 15 mins8. 10 min walk to Whampoa for shops, including an excellent food court, and MTR9. Clean - we had no issues with the maintenance or cleanliness of the hotel10. Plenty of taxis outside the hotelCons1. Kitchen came with a hob but no utensils or bowls/plates2. No aircon in corridors so you would sweat just walking to the lift3. Hung Hom MTR was possibly the nearest MTR station but the hotel shuttle did not go there4. We hardly ever saw anyone use the hotel restaurant5. The hotel might be building a new front entrance because the bus stop for the free shuttle bus is not immediately obvious, and we mistakenly stood at the wrong bus stop for the neighbouring hotel.     Hotel had a good location but the management was sub-par. During our stay the fire alarm went of on the night at 3AM. The front desk was not helpful when we complained. One of the days the electricity was turned off for 8 hours 10AM-6PM with prior notice by paper just about 24 hours before. At the same time as the electricity turned off there was no hot water. If I had been informed beforehand I wouldn’t have booked this hotel.The suite itself had two single beds put together as a double-bed in one of the rooms and the smaller room had a small double bed. Kitchen appliances were a bit dated and there was hand soap only in the bathroom above the bath tub. Overall the location is good but the hotel is ran amateurish and unprofessional. The facilities and rooms together with the location would warrant a 3 star review but the poor service and management ruined my experience fully.If you are willing to compromise quality for a cheap stay this might be for you.
