Location

This hotel is situated in the centre of Tung Chung, which possesses Hong Kong's newest and most comprehensive transport structure. Adjacent to the hotel lies the Citygate shopping and entertainment complex with direct access to the MTR (underground). Hong Kong Disneyland is located within 15 km whereas Lantau Country Park, Ngong Ping and Wisdom Path are located approximately 21 km away.

Facility

The hotel has 440 rooms, including 40 suites and 283 double rooms, which are located on 23 storeys and are reachable by lift. English-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a supermarket, are great for shopping or just browsing. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park. Rooms

Rooms feature a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. Air conditioning and central heating ensure comfortable indoor temperatures. Rooms have a double bed or a queen-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator, a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Slippers are included. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. A hairdryer, bathrobes and a telephone are available for daily use. As a special feature, bathrooms are also stocked with cosmetic products and a selection of towels. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. The hotel has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

There are indoor and outdoor pools and a children's swimming area. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent.     There’s so much to love about this Novotel.The Novotel offers a wonderful airport transfer from the hotel shuttle pick up point with great staff that are very much hands on with your luggage.You arrive at the hotel to experience the most impressive grand travertine laden foyer. It’s so very spacious and the focus point for checking in, going to breakfast, the bar and heading up to mega shopping @ Citygate.We had a much appreciated room upgrade in fact I do believe it may have even been several room categories higher. Wonderful layout and views to be fair. The rooms in their heyday would have been absolutely magnificent.The only downside is the rooms are dated and I’m sure the hotel knows they need modernising. It happens to every establishment sooner or later. Some small confusion also on the welcome drinks as they appeared in the app but than you can’t redeem them from the app you apparently need to still receive paper versions so had to go back to reception for the paper version in the end only used one for a coffee that Mr Jack organised for me which I really appreciated.Breakfast was pretty good with a decent spread of Eastern and Western options. The highlight for me over two mornings was the fantastic chef Ms Cherry. At the helm on the active soup and omelette stations. What a pleasure to meet her and watch her bring those lovely selections together.The executive lounge was also good. Everything you pretty much need but here also the highlight was meeting and getting to know the two most incredibly warm and welcoming ladies Ms Junko and Ms Maria.Hard working and making sure the guests feel valued and well looked after. I can not praise them both enough. Thank you ladies you really did and do make a huge difference and your dedicated and tireless commitment to the service and hospitality industry should be celebrated.Finally although I had some small gripes with a few small issues I still rate the hotel as an option for an airport stay especially if the rooms get upgraded. The saving grace for me again comes down to an incredible front office supervisor/manager the most fabulous and professional Ms Grima! The absolute epitome of a first class hotelier. I hope and know one day she will be a department head or even better a GM. You truely saved the day and watching you swing into action with service recovery was both impressive and extraordinarily commendable.Finally to Mr Tommy thank you I know your heart was in the right place and for that I sincerely thank you and we all have days with opportunities to better ourselves.

    Convenient Location Can’t Make Up for the Poor Condition

    I stayed at Novotel Citygate Hong Kong for less than 24 hours because of its convenient location near Hong Kong International Airport. Based on the hotel’s website and its advertised 4-star rating, I expected a comfortable and well-maintained stay. Unfortunately, the reality was very disappointing.The room was extremely run-down and in desperate need of refurbishment. The carpet was covered with visible stains, which immediately gave the room an unclean appearance. The basin area also had leftover stains, suggesting that housekeeping standards were lacking. To make matters worse, the basin was leaking, which added to the overall poor condition of the room.The bathroom was even more disappointing. The shower area showed clear signs of neglect, with rusty amenities holders and a rusty shower head. These are not the conditions I would expect from a hotel claiming to be 4-star.To my surprise, the television did not even provide local channels, which is a basic feature that most travelers would expect from an international hotel.The only real advantage of this hotel is its proximity to the airport. However, that convenience does not make up for the poor room condition, lack of maintenance, and apparent disregard for basic upkeep. There are likely better options available in the area at a similar price point.I will definitely stay elsewhere on my next trip to Hong Kong and would not recommend this hotel to travelers expecting genuine 4-star standards.

    Stayed at Novotel Citygate Hong Kong recently and overall it was a decent experience. The hotel shuttle service was very helpful and convenient, especially for airport transfers and getting around the area. The room was comfortable and clean, though there were limited charging ports available, so don’t forget to bring a universal adapter if you’re traveling internationally.One thing to note is that the room door was quite heavy and not easy to open, especially for young kids and seniors, so extra care is needed.The location is great if you’re planning to stay around Lantau Island, with nearby shopping malls and easy access to attractions. The front desk staff were also very kind, friendly, and accommodating throughout the stay.Overall, a good and convenient hotel option for travelers looking to explore the Tung Chung and Lantau area.

    We had a pleasant stay at Novotel Citygate. The rooms were comfortable, well-maintained, and provided a good base for our short stay.The main disappointment was the airport shuttle service. We arrived at the pickup point and saw a bus waiting, but were not allowed to board because it was reserved for airline crew members. As a result, we had to wait quite a while for the next shuttle. Given that airport transfers are one of the hotel's key conveniences, the communication around this could definitely be improved.That said, the rooms and overall stay were good. With a smoother airport pickup experience, this would have been an even better stay.

    We stayed in December 2024. Previous review didn’t load. The hotel is very close to the airport. They offer free shuttle services to and from the hotel every 20mins. Hotel also linked to a shopping complex which was convenient for last minute shopping or places to eat if you didn’t want to eat at the hotel. English was limited with some restaurant staff. Rooms were good size. Customer service at the reception was good too.
