MAJOR HEALTH RISK: Black Mold, Filth, and Hostile Management

    rating09 Apr 2026

My friends and I booked two rooms for a 3-night stay ($1200 CAD), expecting a global standard from a Wyndham property. Instead, we were met with conditions that are a literal health hazard. The Rooms (Biohazard):The rooms look nothing like the "pristine" photos advertised. Both rooms had active black mold on the walls, under the sinks, and caked inside the air vents. I am immunocompromised (post-spleen surgery), so breathing in these spores is a life-threatening risk for me. Even the staff admitted it was black mold. To make matters worse, the vents were black with grime, there was hair in the bathtubs, and dirty handprints were smeared on the windows. When they offered a second room, it was even filthier than the first. The Management (Raymond Wong & Joe Cheung):We attempted to resolve this with the managers on duty. Joe Cheung listened, but Raymond Wong was shockingly unprofessional and rude.Raymond cut my friend off and told her to "stop talking."He spoke to Joe in Chinese, telling him not to refund us, assuming we didn't understand. When we replied in Chinese, he became agitated. He claimed "all hotels in Asia are like this," which is a flat-out lie and an insult to Hong Kong's hospitality. He refused to provide a business card, only providing a printout, and told us he wouldn't refund us—instructing us to just "dispute the charge" with our bank. Conclusion:This hotel is a disgrace to the Ramada/Wyndham brand. They are currently evading calls from Expedia to avoid accountability. For $400 CAD a night, you expect a clean room, not a respiratory hazard and verbal abuse. We have documented everything and are reporting this to the HK Consumer Council and the Health Department (FEHD).STAY ELSEWHERE.

Ramada Grand View - stayed 3 times total over 35 nights

    rating08 Apr 2026

Items could be improved:• The towels are dated. The fiber of the towels are terrible. This is the items touching our skins and hearts. Please upgrade/replace all the towels.• The carpet is in terrible shape. I stayed 3 weeks at the same hotel in 2021. The carpet was already in bad shape. I am surprised to see that the carpet was still around (un-replaced) after 5 years, only getting worse shape!• The furniture are very old and are stained. I stayed in Room 1812 (?) during one of my recent stay. The desk chair was in the so much stain I have to use a bath towel to cover it. It was degusting. When I stayed in Room 2604 during my second stay, the desk chair was in acceptable shape. Yet, the closet doors were un-closable due to the doors have expanded due to moisture.• During my recent visit, I had 2 stays at the hotel total of 13 days. I took a short trip to China in between. As I would come back to the same hotel, I was hoping that the hotel would allow me to leave my 2 bags at the hotel as a convenience to the guests? This is a very typical Western practice. I was very disappointed to find out that the leadership team set to charge me HK$150 per bag per day. Are they truly in the hospitality business? Items that were great:• The hotel is in a location that is very convenient to me with many food joints in close proximity. • It is reasonably priced. • Most of the staff is very friendly. I’d like to shout out Amy Lai at the front desk. She was very pleasant and supportive. Despite it was unsuccessful, Amy attempted to talk to the local leadership team to waive the HK$150 per bag per day.

its what i needed: 2 bedroom accomodation@reasonable price

    rating01 Feb 2026

What i like:-Spacious: it offers 2 bedroom accomodation; excellent for travelling with my 19 years old-its reasonably priced considering this is Hong Kong; cost on hotels are usually high and small-with regards transportation: there is a direct bus service (A11) from the airport costing only HK$41.50 one way. And, it took about an hour and 15 minutes from the Airport. -luckily the bedsheets looks clean, the bathroom looks clean-This room comes with a kettle and mugs, instant coffee and Chinese tea bag. And, a mini fridge-Immediate vicinity that is the local market selling live seafood, fresh vegetables and fruits-lots of restaurants/cafe so no worries with food and drinksWhat didn't i like:-there is a kitchenette in this accomodation but we are not allowed to cook. The hob is on display only. i have asked the staff about this he said 20 years ago it was a functional kitchenette now the management has disconnected this service but it was not mentioned when i booked this accomodation.so that was disappointing. The management should have removed the picture on its ads and/or note kitchenette not available etc.-i understand this hotel is old but this is no excuses for not having the air-conditional system clean, and replace heavily stained carpet as well as replace old toilet bowl (it was cracked). This concerns hygiene nothing to do with it being old. Suggestions: bring your own toiletries including toothbrush and toothpaste cause i have no idea what's what in the bathroom cause the toiletries were not labeled, and toothbrush and toothpaste was not offered. this hotel does not offer bortled water but there is a kettle in the room you could boil the water let it cool down then pour it in your own water bottle. looking for cheap eat? on King's Road there is a takeaway vendor selling Dim Sum and noodles and rice (do refer to my pictures with this review).

    Gross! Don't do it!

    rating17 Nov 2025

The only thing good about this place is the location. 2 blocks away from the North Pointe metro stop, and 3 blocks away from the A11 bus to/from airport. Otherwise, this hotel is a total dump! I have no idea how this is a Ramada. No water in room, no amenities at all. Not even hand soap in bathroom, hand sanitizer.

Wont stay again , nor recommend this place.

    rating03 Oct 2025

We spent 3 nights at this hotel. While the location at north point is convenient as it is a 5-10 min walk from the MRT and bus terminus, (also a 2 mins walk from the tram station) but .. I wouldn't stay nor recommend this hotel to others for quite a few reasons. Here are a few- No one really cares that you exist. This is pretty much a self service property. No Concierge to assist , no Bell Boy to help with luggage, staff at reception are pretty rude and non chalant when you arrive. - Drinking water also isn't provided and needs to be bought. Even a dental kit needs to be paid for. I have no problem with this, but at least makes sure your vending machine works properly. The saving grace is there are shops right outside to buy these essentials- Every time I approached the reception for a query there was always a rude look and response. Its as if they are frustrated to be working there. The concept of service with a smile which is hallmark in the hospitality industry is totally missing. Its alright if staff aren't able to communicate in English, but at least convey whatever it is in a polite manner- The location is on a street that has several meat shops (A.k.a wet markets). So the area isn't clean and smells pretty bad the entire day. So not for the faint hearted. And to name a hotel "Grand view", this seems like a stretch- Rooms are pretty dated and need upkeep and maintenance. This seems to be missing on the whole. There is apparently a sky pool on the 28th floor, but when I visited I was unable to find any. When I checked with the reception they told me its out of order. So I still wonder if it exists. The only thing the hotel did right is hound me with a hundred calls to check out at 11 am. I didnt consume any food at this place, so I cannot comment on that bit. All in all , this is a Ramada franchise property and from what I understand Wyndham is a global brand with certain standards. I think the brand needs to audit these franchise properties and check that quality standards are being met.
