This hotel is centrally located in a quiet side street at the heart of Budapest. The pedestrian area Váci utca is easily reached within a few minutes. From here, guests will be able to explore countless shopping venues as well as restaurants and cosy bars. Public transport connections are just a stone's throw from the hotel.

Facility

2 single rooms and 30 double rooms are located on 2 storeys and can be reached by lift. Guests are warmly welcomed by multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the 24-hour reception desk in the lobby. Check-in/check-out service is available round the clock. The hotel provides a baggage storage service, a safe, medical assistance, room service, a laundry service, a conference room and a smoke alarm. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park (for a fee). A bicycle hire service provides all the necessary equipment for exploring the surrounding area.

Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. In some rooms, a terrace provides additional space for relaxation. Rooms include a double bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi are provided as well. A hairdryer and a telephone are provided in the bathrooms, which include a shower and a bathtub. As a special feature, bathrooms are also stocked with cosmetic products and a selection of towels. Wheelchair-friendly rooms can be booked. The hotel has 32 non-smoking rooms.

    The location of this hotel is perfect, however unless you want to be woken up between 5-6am, DO NOT stay here. Whether it’s the bin men at 5am, the shops across the way opening their shutters and dragging stuff around at 6am, or the same guy every morning dragging delivery crates up and down the street. It’s near on impossible to sleep from 5am onwards. Also, house keeping service isn’t good. Apart from emptying the bin they don’t do anything else. Have to ask for clean towels and no beds were made. Breakfast ok but a bit cold! Would NEVER stay here again which is a shame.

    Important to note that currently the hotel is undergoing renovation works so there is often construction workers and it is in essence a construction site. This meant some mornings there was construction noises happening. The renovation itself is an improvement- slightly more modern and in keeping with the times. The room was comfortable and nicely renovated and the beds were comfortable enough. I had noted a previous review sighting that room 112 had no window covering on one of the windows. Lo and behold, that’s where we were put. We brought this to the attention of the staff - some were completely unaware and shocked that this was the case. One woman said she was aware but that there was nothing they can do. She reassured us that it shouldn’t be a problem as we are not in anyone’s eye line and the sun doesn’t come up in February. Oh how wrong she was. See the picture attached of the glowing street lamp right opposite the room that let light in all night. Not to mention - the sun definitely came up every morning and ensured I was awake bright and early even if the street lamp had kept me awake all night. As you can expect, this really affected me and impacted my stay. I haven’t even divulged into the lack of security and privacy this uncovered window offered me (the room looks out onto the street outside an Irish bar).We can’t comment on the breakfast as we are vegetarian/vegan and didn’t feel it was worth trying. The staff are nice and friendly though.

    Thank you for such a friendly and welcoming stay at the City Hotel Pilvax. Perfectly located in Budapest City centre. The staff on reception were excellent and very helpful.Lovely breakfast. The hotel breakfast room is being upgraded as we speak. They provide a pack up breakfast which was perfect for us. Coffees and Teas available.Room very clean and shower room spotless.To all British holiday makers who are require accomodation that is traditional and are not fussy about their stay, it is perfect. I would recommend it. Probably one of the best located hotels in Budapest. Good value and easy accessThe main shopping areas and visitor attractions are very close. Lots of restaraunts, shops and bars within 1 min walk. Very quiet in hotel.Booked taxi to airport from Hotel. Same price as UBER. Pick up prompt and taxi driver was a lovely kind gentleman who was brilliant.Thank you to the people of Budapest for a fantastic break.Jet2 as usual, were awesome

    Fantastic budget hotel. Very friendly, helpful staff. We stayed in room 111 on the first floor. Rooms were clean with very comfy memory foam mattresses. Excellent, comprehensive buffet breakfast. Ideal location for all the sights with a superb integrated transport system nearby. 10 out of 10
