  Terrible stay

  ❗❗❗ Before booking this hotel, please read.During our stay, 40,000 HUF and €200 disappeared from our room. After reporting it to the hotel, instead of receiving support, we were left with the impression that, since there was no proof, it was assumed that the money had never been there.I cannot say who was responsible, but if the safety of your valuables matters to you, I would advise you to think carefully before booking.

  What a hotel!

  What a lovely experience. Elegant, stunning, friendly and relaxed. The entrance and welcome make you feel special, the floral display in the entrance is stunning, rooms lovely too. Super comfy beds and huge towels! Breakfast very good with every option you could want, in a stunning setting. The spa is lovely and perfect at the end of a busy day sightseeing. Nice pool, beautifully restored. The bar service was excellent. Didn’t get the managers name (sorry) but he was a great host, made great cocktails and got the blend of professionalism and friendly service just right. Great location and highly recommend.   A hotel to remember

  We had a dinner to remember at the hotel restaurant. We are staying at the Corinthia for two nights before our cruise with Viking on the Danube. We heard that there would be music during the dinner service but it was so much more than we could have hoped for. The Csicso band was playing classical and contemporary music. 5 excellent musicians- Two came around to the tables and took requests. We were celebrating an anniversary and they went out of their way to play some romantic songs just for us. What talented and friendly people.The food was excellent- we went for traditional Hungarian food and were not disappointed. The goulash was excellent and the duck confit was the best duck we have ever had. The pool and hot tubs are exceptional. You can put your provided robe and slippers over your bathing suit; then use the private elevator that goes directly to the spa reception- a great way to unwind from a day of site seeing. This is the best management and amenity filled hotel I’ve ever stayed in.   Overcharged for unconsumed minibar Items / Potential Thieves - Be Aware!

  I have stayed at this hotel at least 4 times, maybe 5-6, mostly for work, but once for pleasure. I have previously never had an issue, but this last trip has been a disaster which has ended with the hotel claiming I drank an insane amount of alcohol out of the minibar that I did not - I have since raised a dispute of the charge with Amex and I am stuck using my corporate travel agent to mediate back and forth with them. Be VERY careful if you stay here, I really advise you do not, and this is coming from a former loyal customer who previously recommends this hotel to all of my senior leadership team.On the first night, I asked for a full size king duvet to be made on the bed if possible (as opposed to the standard european 2 single duvets on a king bed), and the reception lady said no issue. I came back to my room later to find a duvet had been literally dumped on the bed (they hadnt actually made it or taken away the other 2 smaller duvets) , but the duvet wasn't in a king cover, so it was all bundled up like a ball. I went to reception and said your housekeeping have just dumped it, and she said i'll get them to go up and make the bed. I then went out for a run, came back, and nothing had changed. Receptionist was very apologetic, and proceeds to ring up housekeeping to tell them to fix it ASAP. What followed was utterly bizare. I went back to the room and as I'm there, the guy is trying to make the bed and I hear reception call him, it was hard to hear but I basically overheard her say please make the bed and do a good job, i've spoken to the guest. The guy, who has a massive attitude, then puts the king duvet in a non king sheet on the bed and said "that good enough"? I said no, it's not even covering half of the bed. He then storms out and comes back literally 15 minutes later "i found the right sheet then", makes the bed, and barely speaks and leaves with a massive mood on.Come two days later, I check out no issue. A day later I get a bill claiming i've basically cleaned out the minibar, of which I have not. I had two soft drinks. I don't know if housekeeping swiped them or they've just messed up the inventory, but I've now had to dispute a charge with Amex for £80 difference. What's insane is that the amount of alcohol they're claiming that has been consumed is an insane amount, it's genuinly unbelievable.I am currently waiting on Amex and my Corporate Travel Agent to try and resolve this with the hotel, but their attitude over this for somebody who is a repeat customer is quite frankly appalling.Avoid at all costs if you value your sanity and not being scammed.
