My husband and I stayed here when visiting Budapest to celebrate our 25th anniversary! Go ahead and book the Executive Danube River View Room. It’s worth it for the great view of the parliament! The executive lounge was nice for a quick breakfast before heading out and a snack/ drink before dinner. My only minor complaint is that the coffee in the lounge is awful. You can get a proper coffee in the restaurant downstairs or at the bar. The hotel is on the Buda side and a little far from some of the main tourist sites. However, we found it nice to be able to explore the area outside of peak hours before/ after all the tourists. Fisherman’s bastion is practically empty first thing in the morning. It was easy to get a Uber or Bolt back to the hotel when we had exceeded our steps for the day. Staff at reception and the bar were very welcoming and friendly. If we ever get a chance to visit again, we will stay here.

    Waking up in a castle

    rating11 Jun 2026

Stayed in a corner suite which was absolutely spectacular. I specifically booked this room as I wanted to look out of the window and feel like I’d woken up in a castle and it did not disappoint! I really enjoyed staying in the quiet Buda and we are quite happy walking, but I appreciate that many will want to be in the heart of things in Pest. The number 16 bus stops just outside the hotel and is good if the legs are feeling a bit tired. We generally walked down the hill and over to Pest which took about 20-25 mins. We enjoyed walking back over the bridges and seeing the city lit up at night.

Unbeatable location with stunning views of Budapest

    rating03 Jun 2026

I stayed at Hilton Budapest and it was one of the most memorable hotel experiences I've had in Europe, largely thanks to its exceptional location.Situated in the heart of the Buda Castle District, the hotel places you right among some of Budapest's most iconic landmarks. Stepping outside and finding yourself next to Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias Church is something truly special. The views over the Danube, the Parliament building, and Pest are breathtaking, especially at sunrise and after dark. The room was spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean. The bed was excellent, ensuring a great night's sleep after long days exploring the city. While some parts of the hotel reflect its history, everything was well maintained and felt elegant and welcoming.Breakfast was another highlight. The selection was extensive, with both local and international options, and the dining room offers views that make starting the day even more enjoyable.A useful tip for future visitors: take some time to explore the Castle District early in the morning or late in the evening. Once the day-trippers leave, the area becomes much quieter and you can enjoy some of the most beautiful views in Budapest almost entirely to yourself. What impressed me most was the combination of a historic setting with Hilton's reliability and comfort. You're staying in one of the most picturesque parts of the city while still enjoying all the conveniences expected from an international hotel brand.Compared with many other hotels in Budapest, the location alone makes this property stand out. If you're visiting the city for the first time and want to be surrounded by history, architecture, and incredible panoramic views, I can't think of a better place to stay.I would absolutely return on a future visit to Budapest.

Customer service is alive and well at the Hilton Budapest

    rating02 Jun 2026

Our very first contact with the hotel was with Adrian at the front desk. He was the epitome of professionalism and customer service. It was late and we were tired but he was patient with us. The icing on the cake is when we told him we were celebrating a special occasion and he arranged for us to have two rooms next to one another overlooking the St. Mathias church. The hotel is located next to Fisherman’s Bastion and opposite the Parliament. Staff is friendly and rooms are luxurious. I would highly recommend

Beautiful views and a lovely setting

    rating31 May 2026

Lucky enough to be upgraded to a Superior room with a Danube view…and what a view.Looked straight into the Fisherman’s bastion from our room and the Parliament building from the Exec lounge.Breakfast was good, decent selection of hot and cold food and drinks in the lounge with wine, spirits and beer served from 4-6.Room was well appointed and the air con worked well in the 33 degree heat.Great visit for our wedding anniversary and the staff did well coping with the influx of fans and players in town for the Champions League final. When the weather is so good a visit to the rooftop bar is a must with even more spectacular views as the sun goes down, some good cocktails and a complimentary glass of fizz for Diamond members.
