Great hotel for rigid policies against customer needs

Hotel is great and beautiful. Location and landscape around is amazing. Staff is in general kind and try to help but the management needs to seriously re-think approach to a more customer centric approach. I give you a few examples:- people come here and is the excited about the experience of norther lights. They have a very nice and comfortable relaxing salon by the bar with large windows… the roble was that the light was totally against the experience, light inside won’t let you see a clear view outside (obvious). I asked them if they could turn off the lights so we all can stay inside, drinking from their bar and still stay alert if the northern lights appear. They answered NO, their internal policies didn’t allow them to turn off the light of the room or lowering them at least. So people left the bar and went in to their rooms to do the exact same thing.- At breakfast the broiled eggs were freezing cold … I asked if they could warm them a bit in a microwave or hot water but guess what ??? No, they do not serve hot broiled eggs and they didn’t help me. Very si ole things… management should be customer centric. It is very easy and must times very profitable.Apart from these … experience was great. Including the restaurant.

Comfortable Stay!

Spent a night in this hotel as part of the tour.It is a relatively new and modern hotel. Check-in and out were simple and easy.Room was of good size with modern decor and furnishing. It is also cozy and comfortable.Dinner and breakfast was good and so were the service.With little lighting and buildings around it, it was a good place to catch the Northern Lights.We had a comfortable stay here.

Perfect location for lights chasing

Very modern and well set out hotel. The hotel has an alert system if you wish to be woken up for the northern lights appearances. We saw it 3 times over 2 nights here. Got very lucky.Great breakfast and location is perfect for light chasing as it is upon a small hill and no light pollution in Myvatn.

Excellent hotel to capture northern lights and scenery

We stayed here as part of our Ring Road tour. This is an excellent location for Northern Lights viewing with the whole hotel design based on capturing the Northern Lights and amazing scenery. There are large picturesque windows in all rooms, with a lovely window see to relax and enjoy the view.The hotel is in a good location to base yourself for day trips around the local area. The restaurant was excellent. We had dinner and breakfast with both of a very high standard, dietary needs very well catered for. There is also a lovely cosy bar and a ping pong table and dart board downstairs if you are looking for after dinner entertainment whilst waiting for the lights to appear. We will definitely book when back to exploring this region of Iceland.

Nice hotel with unique location outside of the small nearby village. Professional staff, lots of parking and a well run restaurant. Relatively quiet at night, beautiful location to see the Northern Lights and breakfast was great. I recommend this location.
