    Mmmmm would NOT recommend. We paid good money for an intrepid tour and they used this accomodation for the first and last night of their tours. The room was disgustingly. The shower was dark and filthy. Just awful.

    A three star review here. Excellent location right by the Hallgrimskirkj. My room was clean and although the accommodation was right on a side road it was quiet. Breakfast was satisfactory although let down by a rude (young) female member of staff.

    The usp of the guesthouse is its location and the facility of the shared kitchen .. It's within a 5 min walking distance from the iconic Hallgrímskirkja church in Reykjevic..Most of the day tour departures have pick up.point near this church (bus stop 8).. The kitchen facility is good with lots of utensils..The rooms are small..some without pvt bathrooms.. most of the time there was none at reception (it's not a reception desk in actual).. A facility to keep the luggage is there for a charge of 1000 ISK per day

    My experience at The Aurora Hotel was fine, though not remarkable. The property was clean, and the staff was polite, but there were a few areas that could use improvement. The room was comfortable but felt a bit dated, and some amenities seemed lacking or in need of maintenance. It wasn’t a bad stay by any means, but it didn’t quite live up to expectations either. A decent option if you’re looking for something standard and no-frills.

    Complete Negligence and Theft: A Horrible Experience

    We had $2,220, a MacBook, and a backpack stolen from us because an employee told us we could leave our luggage in the kitchen while we were out on a tour. When we returned, everything was gone! We requested access to the security cameras, but were told they don’t actually work—they’re just for show. The property owner offered no help, the staff had no information, and no one took responsibility for our loss. If I could, I would give this place zero stars. There is absolutely no commitment to customer safety, no functioning security cameras, and the staff is poorly trained. The police were unable to recover our money or belongings, though we were later informed that a couple staying at the hotel had stolen from us. To this day, no action has been taken to resolve the situation.
