    Great Hotel in Fantastic Location!

    rating09 Jun 2026

Our family loved everything about this wonderful hotel: the friendly, helpful staff (they were all great, but Yasmin in particular), the perfect location right downtown, the well-appointed rooms, and the fabulous (included) breakfast buffet with every freshly made dish you could wish for. It's easy to reach by Flybus from the airport. We very much enjoyed our stay here and would love to come visit again! If your expectations are balanced you will love it....

    rating28 May 2026

Ok, so it's important to understand that your experience of this hotel is going to vary by season in Iceland as to what you are going to navigate. I was here in May- when the sun sets at 11:15pm and rises at 3:30am and the weather was getting quite nice- in the 50's during the day. The courtyard facing rooms in winter are probably quiet but they probably will not be in summer season.I had a room on points but decided to pay a small cash upgrade to be in the Loft Suite (Room 412) for my 5 night stay. WELL worth the cost. Amazing room.My two main concerns about staying here from reading the reviews were heat and noise....so here is my feedback on that right off the bat before I get to the pros and cons...Was I too hot in my room? Nope. I asked them to shut of the radiators off before I arrived and keep them off while I was staying in the room and the temp was great. There was a fan but I didn't need it and a small window was open at all times. I considered turning on 1 radiator the last night because it was actually starting to get a little chilly. I also asked for the bed to be made with a top sheet (not the norm in Europe) so I had options. Was it noisy in my room? Yes. It was. Did I sleep well? Yes, I did. I used earplugs and white noise. And eye shades from the light situation. Saturday night is a noisy night here no matter where you are. It just is. The bass was pumping from the restaurant 3 floors down and we could certainly hear it. But, with the earplugs, white noise and jet lag we slept through it. At 7:30am every day housekeeping brought up carts that included glassware and it was super noisy as well. Thin doors. City center room. Not going to be a silent place.Pros -Perfect spot in the city. Can't really get any better. Walkable to everything.-Easy paid parking garage across the street. -Staff is friendly and communicates VERY well as far as being responsive goes. I literally messaged them about 30 times with questions before my stay began and they were very accommodating.-Breakfast is great. I didn't care that there was no variety because there was a large enough spread that you could make up different combos each day...avocado toast, or lox on toast, pancakes and bacon, oatmeal bake and fruit...salads..etc etc. It was nice and extras like the ginger root shots and juices as well as having cappuccinos included was lovely-It was VERY clean. Every area was nice and clean that I saw.-Having robes in the room is nice-412, the Loft Suite is an amazing room for a longer stay. It's huge and clean and has a lovely bathtub. Highly recommend.-Real glassware and espresso pods in rooms as well as a mini fridge in ours-Also a kettle for tea in our room-The water is so amazing and clean that you just fill up from your sink in your room everything you need. Not necessary to ever buy bottled water or worry about all that. Bring a reusable bottle to refill throughout the trip.-Lots of good lighting options.-The property and city felt incredibly safe.-I had no issue with room temperature.-Fun decor in entire hotel. Loved the room decor as well.Cons--Wish it were quieter, but I also certainly didn't experience some of the horror stories that people have had. I had expectations that there was going to be noise and that Saturday night was not going to be quiet.-The beds were on the extra firm side-I didn't love the charcoal smelling soaps and shampoo. Personal preference.-No blackout curtains- but I actually don't think that is possible in Iceland. I used an eye mask and slept fine. Great place to stay in the heart of Reykjavík!

    rating13 May 2026

Great place to stay in RJK. It was our first time to Iceland and the staff at the canopy were very welcoming. We were able to get an early check in which was much appreciated after a long overnight flight. The vibe is fun, funky and comfortable. The rooms are small which is typical for the area and the space felt inviting and homey. Very close to everything including rainbow road. A good place to stay ! Beware , very loud night club next door .

    rating08 May 2026

Be very careful booking this hotel many rooms are opposite a very loud nightclub guaranteeing no sleep until early hours …bring ear defenders . On complaint receptionist offered a shrug . Modern hotel in great location

    rating05 May 2026

This was a great hotel. Location was excellent, good breakfast and the room was modern, spacious and clean. Easy parking jn the carpark across the road. A few small issues: 1 - hot water wasn’t working in our room for about an hour 6am / 7am and maintenance not in until 8am. Not the country for a cold or even lukewarm shower! 2 - no shower cap available on request (a small but surprising thing not to have available.) 3 - the bath and body products provided in the room were high quality but “charcoal” scented, which was a very strong smell. 4 - breakfast not open until 7am which is a bit late if you want to hit the road early to beat the tour buses. Suggest a 6.30am start would be better.
