    The images shown are exactly as Eyja is. We really enjoyed our stay here, as the hotel is within walking distance of most places in the city and is still quietly located on a street that is not very busy. We also enjoyed breakfast here, which was beautifully presented and had something for everyone. I would have appreciated a bit of variety in Skyr (not the same every day), and also the scrambled eggs were on a plate heated from underneath, but the top was usually cold and already dried out. Compliment to the quality of the gluten-free bread available.

    The hotel is very comfortable with a fantastic staff, friendly and pro active.Easy free parking and walking distance to many restaurants.Breakfast was very good.Some details could be better, like when you shower all bathroom end wet.Very clean.

    Excellent hotel in Reykjavik w/ vegan breakfast options

    If we come back to Reykjavik or close to Reykjavik then we’ll stay at this hotel. The room was decorated in such a tasteful way so that we almost thought an interior design was part of the staff. Everyone was super friendly. Free parking was available right outside. And best of all: quite a few vegan / plant-based breakfast options.

    Nice hotel, located downtown with beautiful views of the Faxafloi bay. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and eco-friendly. There is plenty of parking and walking distance to the local market.

    My husband and I stayed at Hotel Eyja Guldsmeden from 7–14 March and had a really lovely week there.From the moment we arrived the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and that warmth continued throughout our stay. Everyone we spoke to was genuinely helpful and happy to offer advice or assistance, which made the whole experience feel very relaxed and personal.The hotel has a really cosy atmosphere that makes it a pleasure to come back to after a day out exploring. Our room was spotless, comfortable and quiet, with a very comfy bed – exactly what you want after being out in the Icelandic weather all day.Breakfast was another highlight. There was a great selection each morning, with lots of fresh and organic options, and it set us up perfectly for the day.The location is also excellent – an easy walk into the centre of Reykjavík, with shops, restaurants and the main sights nearby, but far enough away to feel calm and relaxed.One small touch we absolutely loved was the free coffee available 24/7 in the bar area. That’s surprisingly rare in my travels and was such a nice perk, especially after a cold evening out or before heading out early in the morning.We also really appreciated the hotel’s strong eco-credentials and clear commitment to sustainability, which is something we actively look for when travelling.All in all, a stylish, welcoming and genuinely comfortable place to stay. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and would happily return.
