    Clean and well placed hotel

    Overall, we enjoyed our Christmas stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. However, the spa being adults-only (16+) was not clearly advertised and limited family use of the facilities, which was one of our reasons for booking. The resort also felt less central and offered fewer amenities than expected. Thankfully, buses and rental vehicles made it easy to explore nearby restaurants and shops, which improved the experience.

    We got the panoramic view that cost more. We were greatly disappointed. Do not be fooled by the pictures. SOME of the panoramic rooms actually have floor to ceiling windows. The rest (like ours) only have regular windows. You can still see out but it is hardly what they advertised. We were lucky that we came in the spring and weren't here for the northern lights. We paid extra for the view and we would have been extremely let down. We won't be booking with Hotel Island for our next trip. If I can upload pics I will with the hotel website image vs reality.

    Stayed as part of a 5 day Icelandic tour, so had no preconceived ideas of what to expect. Its a bit of a way out from the centre of Reykjavik but fairly sure the bus system would get you in and out if required.Comfortable good sized room, quiet and dark at night with comfortable beds.As a bonus the restaurant was very good and we had an excellent dinner there.

    Lovely hotel, room had everything we needed & we had sos access included which was amazing. 4 of us stayed here in 1 spacious room. Lovely local Indian & Thai restaurant we tried which were lovely. We didn't try thr hotel food buy no complaints with the hotel at all, our room was even ready early so they let us check in early which was an added bonus 😊
