    Very happy with the hotel!

    My husband and I just returned from Hotel Vellir and we had a wonderful stay.The hotel is simple, but clean, and well-maintained, and the rooms had blackout curtains. It is located very conveniently next to a Bonus grocery store and a public indoor swimming pool, and the bus-stop that takes you all the way to downtown Reykjavik (with a stop at BSI) is just behind the hotel. There was also a gym with hot tub and sauna that hotel guests could use right beside the hotel. And there's ample parking. The breakfast was decent, although we were disappointed that scrambled eggs and bacon were only available on the weekend.We loved the staff at the front desk, Anna and Katerina. They were very helpful and kind and generous with their knowledge of Iceland. (By the way, there is also a slightly grumpy guy with a shaved head at the front desk. He has a bit of a Bond villain energy and I'm convinced he has a secret lair for bumbling and misbehaving guests so rehearse all your questions before approaching.)Altogether, wonderful stay and we highly recommend if you don't mind staying outside Reykjavik!     Great Location, Spacious Rooms, and a Delicious Breakfast

    Hotel Vellir was a convenient and comfortable place to stay during our trip. Its location made it easy to travel to both Reykjavík and Keflavík, which was ideal for our plans. The rooms were spacious and well‑maintained, providing plenty of comfort after long days of exploring. Breakfast was included and absolutely delicious, offering a great start to each morning.     Our flight was cancelled and we weren't able to get another flight to the UK for 3 days so EasyJet put us up here. Staff were so lovely and breakfasts, room and gym amenities (with hot tub and sauna!) were very much appreciated.     Pleasant and efficient

    After being shuttled here by our airline after a cancelled flight, we, along with our busload of other travelers, were warmly greeted by a nice young woman at the desk. She very pleasantly and efficiently handed out room keys to each passenger, and relayed information about our new travel situation to the best of her ability. Hotel was clean and comfortable, with a good breakfast/eating area. We were also fairly close to the KEF airport, so transport back the next day was easy.     An efficient stay with great Breakfast

    Overall impression: This is an affordable hotel with reasonable accommodations, solid amenities, and an excellent breakfast each morning. Vibe & Atmosphere: The overall atmosphere of this hotel is business-casual. It is set up for efficient check-in, seamless checkout, and provides a good stay at an affordable price. Service & Staff: My experience with the staff was excellent! I especially enjoyed talking with the restaurant staff, who shared in conversation and lovely greetings. I felt at-home vibes throughout my stay: the food was always hot, the tables were always clean, and someone was always available to answer my questions. I could not have asked for more! Cleanliness & Comfort: The room was perfectly maintained. The hotel was clean, tidy, and sparsely decorated. My bed was comfortable, and (as I have become accustomed to in Iceland) the water pressure and temperature are perfect in every way! As I visited during the summer, the Blackout curtains were a necessary and welcome touch, with great coverage of all window surfaces. Food & Amenities: The breakfast every morning was perfect! Cheese, bread, and eggs, among other items, were laid out buffet style; le was the highlight of my stay. The coffee was excellent as well. My favorite Moment: My favorite moments throughout my stay were sitting on the couch, staring out the window while sipping my coffee each morning.
