Location

Located in the coastal town of Mosfellsbaer, this hotel is just off Iceland's scenic ring road and overlooks the Esja Mountain. Central Reykjavik is 10 minutes' drive away. The hotel is situated in a great spot for the Northern Lights and for hiking, close to the city and almost in the countryside.

    Absolutely stunning hotel. Everything you need is there, places to eat supermarkets and the most amazing bakery. The rooms are very big and immaculate lovely an warm and the views are breathtaking. The bar is lovely and staff are so friendly. There’s a huge projector in the bar playing all sports plus there’s a darts room.     Lovely small hotel, rooms very clean and also lounge area for guests. Continental breakfast. I am gluten free and they provided me with nice gluten free bread. Locally there are shops (grocery and chemist) in walking distance. Very helpful staff, re which buses to catch and they also arranged for an earlier breakfast so we could get to a guided tour starting at 8:00am. Only downside was our room was very hot, could only open a window and no other way to turn heat down. Didnt want to sleep (ground floor) with window open. Understand there is one setting for all rooms, not sure if something not right with ours as it was very hot. Much warmer than the communal areas, such as bar and guest lounge (which were just fine). Bus stop right outside hotel (number 15 bus to Reykjavik). Plenty of parking if you had a car.     We stayed here for a week and a few days and I honestly couldn’t have had a better experience, the staff were so friendly and the owner gave us a little tour and told us the history of the place which I found really interesting and incredibly sweet. Everyone was brilliant, I’ll definitely be back here.     My friend and I found the hotel to be very helpful and understanding. They catered for gluten free and could not do enough for us. The rooms are clean and comfortable with regular room service.I am glad we stayed here rather than in Reykjavik as it has a good bus service and lovely views of the mountains as well as a nice bakery and supermarket. All you need.
