Nothing to complain. The bed was very comfy and the food really delicious.. We enjoy our stay so much

Hótel Grímsborgir has a noticeably different aesthetic compared to the typical Scandinavian style you find across Iceland. Instead of the usual warm wood tones, the hotel leans heavily into a white-themed décor that feels more British-inspired—clean and elegant, but slightly less cozy than what you might expect in this setting.The room itself is quite basic. Amenities are provided by Aqua Sense, which is a nice touch, but otherwise there’s not much to highlight—no minibar, and overall functionality takes priority over comfort or luxury.The layout of the hotel is a bit unusual. It’s designed in a circular setup with guest rooms spread around the perimeter, while the reception and restaurant are located in a separate central building. Because of this, driving between your room and the main facilities is recommended—especially in cold or snowy conditions, as walking can be inconvenient.Breakfast is decent but fairly simple. There’s enough to get you started for the day, but the selection is limited, particularly when it comes to fruits and bread.Overall, Hótel Grímsborgir is a comfortable stay, but at its current price point, it feels slightly underwhelming. At a lower rate, this could easily be a 5/5 experience.

We had a nice 1 night stay in a Deluxe room. Very good sized room, bed was good. It had a nice veranda, weather permitting. Had dinner at the hotel which was good. Breakfast is excellent. Would stay again.

Stunning views and a perfect recharge

Peaceful place, modern equipment, and comfortable furniture. We felt very close to nature. :) The food was varied and everything was fresh.However, the cleaning should be better. There were empty beer cans by the hot tub, and some parts of the room were not clean enough. Also, the walls are thin, so we could hear people walking in the next room.Overall, it is a nice hotel and I recommend it. There are many things to see nearby, and the staff is very kind and helpful.
