    The hotel is too big to serve properly.Breakfast was okay, but nothing special.The pool and hot tubs were nice.

    I was very disappointed with my stay. The first room I received was extremely dirty, so I went to reception to express my concerns. Medisha assisted me and kindly changed my room, mentioning that she had personally inspected the new one.However, upon arrival, the second room was in even worse condition. There were hairs in the shower and on the pillows, dirty glasses, and the floor was visibly unclean.Later, I asked Medisha if a late check-out would be possible, and I was told it was not. That same evening, l spoke with another staff member (an Icelandic gentleman), who was very kind and informed me that a late check-out was in fact possible. The following day, when I returned to Medisha to arrange it, it suddenly became available, but I was required to pay for it.Overall, I was given two unacceptable rooms, received no apology, no upgrade, and no complimentary late check-out-even though I needed it due to the storm that day.I had heard very positive things about the hotel, but unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected and does not reflect a 4-star standard.I apologize for my honesty, but I am truly disappointed, as I was hoping to have a pleasant stay.Breakfast was good and the food at the restaurant, the Icelandic guy at the reception was super nice in the evening.     Great overnight stay at Hotel Örk with a spacious, clean supreme room, excellent dinner, and friendly, efficient service. The atmosphere was warm and relaxing, and overall it felt like good value for the price.Only drawback was the TV system, which lagged and cut off our movie due to a Netflix login issue. Otherwise, a highly enjoyable stay we’d gladly repeat.     Never have seen a hotel as commercial as this !!!

    We had a very unpleasant experience during our visit. As vegetarians, we had a few simple and reasonable requests regarding our food and serving preferences. Unfortunately, the staff showed no willingness to listen or accommodate us.When we asked for glass plates or basic cutlery, we were bluntly refused and told that “this is not the norm in Iceland.” This response felt dismissive and insensitive rather than helpful or informative.They charged 400 ISKWhat made matters worse was the behavior of the gentleman at reception, Mr. Joseph. His attitude came across as sarcastic and unwelcoming—at one point, it even felt like we should be “glad they didn’t charge us for speaking.” This level of customer service is completely unacceptable and frankly quite shocking.Overall, this was one of the worst customer service experiences we’ve had. The lack of respect, unwillingness to accommodate reasonable requests, and rude attitude made us feel unwelcome. We would not recommend this place to anyone expecting basic courtesy and hospitality.
