Rooms

    Beach Resort South Goa friendly but lacking 5 star finishing touches

    I would rate this stay 3.5/5 probably due to fact that the weather had high humidity was very very hot and the air conditioning in this resort was not always great. I noted it was rated as 5/5 and I have to comment upon this. Upon arrival the entry area was well lit and staff very friendly and engaging even late at night. The rooms we had booked were located up 20 stairs which was not Seniors friendly, our choice but we did not wish to purchase a poolside villa on the ground floor. The rooms were very spacious a real plus, but odd arrangement of bath tub as central piece in room . The balcony had no view and needed some attention with flaking around the doors crumbling onto the pavers. One of our rooms had a small mouse , which was quite noisy at night time … the staff were apologetic about this but no reduced fee. The air conditioning in the restaurant was not very cool, which made at times visiting this place for meals uncomfortable .The pool is large and beautifully positioned , it could benefit from some shade over the pool , no life guard present, and staff around the pool area were hard to locate , they also had many loose or missing tiles in the pool floor which needs to be repaired. The main reason we picked this 5 star resort was the restaurant food catering for dietary requirements like options on the menu , for gluten free etc . By the third day of our stay the chef had kindly made gluten free bread and it is the best GF bread I have had in India . At times the menu let us down as the GF desserts were not available . A beautiful location, great beach access , would suit more younger couples .     Extremely disappointing stay

    Extremely Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the MoneyWe visited this property for a family holiday and had a very poor experience from check-in to check-out.We arrived at 14:45 hrs. Despite the hotel being almost empty, our room was not ready. When we were finally given a room, it was unbearably smelly, very hot, and the centralized AC was not working. The room itself was old and poorly maintained with worn-out interiors. The entrance area had not been swept in a long time and the curtains were stained.This was upsetting as we had paid a significant amount and it was spoiling our family vacation. When we approached the hotel manager about the issues, we were told there would be no refund of any kind. We booked through MMT and raised the issue with them. Only after escalating did the hotel staff offer an upgrade, but even that was not satisfactory.Other issues: - Restaurant service was extremely slow.- The swimming pool water was dirty and not cleaned.- The gym was not operational. - General cleanliness across the property was poor.- We saw other guests arguing with hotel staff over similar complaints.- The AC was set to 21°C but the room temperature never dropped below 28°C. We had to use a noisy fan to sleep.I strongly recommend not booking this property.     Avoid this badly run hotel.

    This is probably the worst run hotel we have ever had the misfortune to stay at.It was obviously once very nice but has been run down with no maintenance and staff in general seem to have given up caring…The room itself was ok but a private pool was nothing short of disgusting… There is no filtration in the pool resulting in stagnant fetid water which was unusable. The staff cleaned the pool but the outcome wasn’t much on an improvement. We complained to the manager who said he would sort it but this was not done. Other issues like toiletries / slippers clearly being reused from previous guests. Staff / management don’t really seem to care. We left to go to another hotel and our local driver said most guests are having similar complaints.Stay somewhere else.     Beachfront Bliss with the Most Incredible Staff!

    My friends and I spent four wonderful nights at Azaya Beach Resort Goa in South Goa, and it was truly a memorable experience.The location is absolutely fantastic—right on the beach—making it the perfect place to unwind. Waking up to peaceful sunrises and ending the day with spectacular sunsets over the ocean was simply magical. Being able to walk straight from the resort onto the beach added so much to the overall experience.The facilities were good and the atmosphere was relaxed, which is exactly what we were looking for on this trip. While parts of the resort building itself do feel a little tired and could probably use some refreshing, what truly sets this place apart is the staff.The team at Azaya Beach Resort Goa were absolutely incredible—friendly, efficient, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay. Their warmth and attentiveness made such a difference and really elevated the entire experience. From Nisha and Ankita who offered the most relaxing massages at the spa, to the efficiency of Saliha, Allen and their admin team, to the friendliness of Vaibhuvi, Agnelo and team at the restaurant and the exceptional service of every staff member at Azaya - I am sending my gratitude.Overall, we had an amazing stay and created some wonderful memories.     Worst place to book. Only looks good in pictures. Low maintenance. Short staffed .
