    Jewel of Jodhpur

    rating23 Mar 2026

Rads is a cut above the rest and the Jodhpur Rass hotel is a beautiful historic nobles home now restored into a magical hotel residence maintaining its beautiful features snd ancient architecture, which looking up at the amazing beautiful fort. From the moment you step of the busy snd fascinating street your in a very special place, we had a beautiful room that looked up to the huge fort with space to sit on the veranda a soak up the history. There is a roof bar where we sat and enjoyed drinks and snacks as the sun disappears behind the fort, then you can choose from two locations to enjoy dinner. There is an extensive menu of indian and international cuisine to choose from, I have to say the food was exceptional as was the service. We ate in every night as it was so good. You can also get snacks and drinks at the step cafe which overlooks an ancient and beautiful well, you can also pop across the road to a sister hotel which had another wonderful roof bar to view the fort as the sun goes down. The spa was amazing snd here I was introduced to the ancient indian art of Ayurvedic massage. The amazing Raheel who trained in Kerala where this branch of healing originates, gave me on two occasions the most amazing oil massage where sweeping long strokes reinvigorate the body . It was an incredible experience to say the least and not for the faint hearted. I loved it and it’s only unfortunate that normal massage now simply don’t cut it. We had a guide Ram from the hotel take us to visit the amazing fort, which is a must do experience. How this was ever built snd run is a mystery. Ram also showed us around the Blue City and took us to some local fabric retailers, where we spent a couple of hours buying beautiful silks and cashmere throws etc. we also had the obligatory Jodhpur jackets made. The whole Rass experience was off to an amazing start in Jodhpur and as we had opted for the Rass hopper package we were off to Rass Jaipur to continue the Adventure. Book it you will not be disappointed, the Rass team took great care of us and arranged everything so perfectly. We will be back. Soon.

Amazing hotel right in the old city of Jodhpur

    rating18 Feb 2026

Top level hotel right in the old city of Jodhpur. The view is unbelievable and the service is outstanding. Rooms are large and our room had a roof-top terrace with the fort right in front of us. Nice spa and pool. The food at the restaurant was excellent and very diverse (Indian as well as international). A 5-star experience. The only issue is that there is a mosque next door and you hear the call to pray throughout the day (and at 6am).

    More shadow than light

    rating16 Feb 2026

A modern property nestled into historic old city walls with a striking outdoor area, but unfortunately marred by significant weaknesses in poor reception service and food safety. If you have the choice, we suggest choosing the Rohet House or -if available as they only have 70 rooms- Umaid Bhawan Palace instead, the Taj is not an option in our view.+Outdoor area – Large, elegant grounds with a great pool. This space alone creates a strong “hideaway in the center of the storm” feeling, providing a retreat despite the bustling city around.Historic buildings – Refurbished former noble house and stables add character and uniqueness.oRooms – Clean and thoughtfully designed, with architectural detailing that shows care and creativity. Working Mosquito screens on the windows, reducing reliance on AC. Good light design with dimming options. Room finishes such as grout work reveal quality issues. Water vaporizer on the faucet creates lots of water spillage.Location – Right in the city center. Access is limited as some drivers avoid the main market, guests are often restricted to a TukTuk or walking. Stunning views of Mehrangarh Fort are offset by significant noise, including very regular loudspeaker calls to prayer nearby. The hotel provides you with ear plugs.Dinner – Rooftop restaurant offering wonderful views of the Fort. Staff were attentive, professional, and friendly. Food was flavorful with a wide selection. However, two family members became ill shortly after dinner, suggesting a significant hygiene/ food safety issue. As we didn’t have lunch that day, causality appeared very clear. Stairs to the rooftop are very steep, especially for younger and older patrons.oReception – The weakest point of our stay. Staff did not convey a welcoming attitude, additional training is needed to meet expectations of demanding travelers. A noticeable sense of arrogance was present, especially compared to even higher-end properties such as the Fairmont Udaipur. Management took half a day to respond to the situation and tried to rectify it, however did not offer a refund/ rebate.Pre-payment policy – Full pre-payment (not the usual credit card security block) on arrival added to the impression of being unwelcome, we don‘t know any other 5-star hotel operating this way.Pricing – Not the most expensive hotel we stayed at, yet price-to-value ratio felt starkly misaligned at this one.
