  Superb homely resort. The basic accommodation and restricted outdoor spaces are totally overshadowed by the superb quality of the staff and the treatments. Outstanding!

  Booked at ideal but placed in Gods own country resort across the road. This wasnt an issue as we just walked across for breakfast. Varied ndian buffet as much as you want, fresh fruit and drinks,toast, eggs of every variation on offer. Friendly and attentive staff. Hotel lovely setting. Room rather dated and could definitely do with a spruce up but roomy and clean. Had to ask for room to be cleaned a couple of times. Fridge in room. A/C and fan. No kettle but quickly supplied one on request. We do like our early mornng cuppa! Lovely pool. Clean and quiet no issue with sunbeds. We did not have any treatments..This is a vegetarian non alcoholic hotel so you will have to go to lighthouse or Kovalam beach for either. Shops and one restaurant local again no alcohol. As long as not too obvious alcohol can be purchased and brought back to rooms. Restaurant will sell to you at beaches. Also be aware cannot use uber and have to use the local drivrs from hotel and from the beaches. We had to use hotel car to take us to the airport but not expensive 13000 inr. Otherwise no issue. Use Uber where you can as a lot cheaper. Overall good value for money. Enjoy.

  Great experience. Small ayurveda resort, great and friendly staff ,good food and the doctors are very easy to approach and they are very professional.I will be back. It was my first but not last time to stay at Ideal Ayurvedic Resort..Thank you🙏

  Another wonderful rejuvenating stay at Ideal. This was my third visit, and it was as enjoyable and beneficial as always. From the moment I was met at the airport to the moment I left, I felt cared for, relaxed, and in good company. The Panchakarma treatments were excellent, food delicious, room clean and comfortable, and the staff (including on site Ayurvedic Doctors) friendly, helpful and efficient. I felt perfectly safe, as a solo female traveller, at all times. It's only 30 minutes from the airport, and close to shops. Good beaches are just a short tuk tuk ride away. There's plenty of free time to enjoy a swim in the well maintained pool, or sightseeing trips to the Keralan backwaters, local temples or shopping, and daily yoga classes are suitable for people of all levels of ability.

  Good Ayurvedic resort but not the greatest

  I spent 33 days here…. Overall Im satisfied but some crucial details would not make me come back unfortunately…. Some awesome elements but several things to improve unfortunately….Staff is very kind, courteous, helpful and reliable…. However the lack of English speaking people make communication difficult sometimes It’s an older small resort…. Rooms are nice but need love and attention…. Expect electricity shut down 5 to 20 times daily…. WiFi is very bad and not reliable…. Some rooms or some areas don’t even have WiFi…In my room the water was leaking and even if plumber came it was not fix and many issues unresolved…. Lots of critters, lizards and ants and clean up is not always well done… Be careful to hide or lock yourself your belongings or rupees some stuff were missing during my stay as reported by other guests to me The pool is nice but not always clean… too many bugs and insects at this time of the year… water is very warm at this time so I guess it’s normal Treatments are well done but lack of English communication between doctor and therapist make it challenging most of the time…. Therapist are often late and treatment room could be cleaner and more professional…They have an awesome yoga teacher very attentive and helpful… specialized in all kind of yoga and meditation and breathing exercises… options of morning and evening classes available and classes are about 750 rupees Meals are vegetarian for Panchakarma treatment package and chef is excellent…. I was able to get awesome cooking class during my stay….However, variety of meal choice is not great and you may get bored quickly…It’s a small place for maximum 45 people and this place needs much love and improvement…. Price is good but I would suggest 1 to 2 weeks stay…Good Ayurveda resort for short stay… Better options nearby for longer stay… Check Dr Franklin next door for little more per night get much modern, cleaner, professional and strict on time treatment, medical support and much variety Ayurvedic food according to your dosha….
