The luxury hotel is located on the small island of Virippukala in Ayimanam Panchayat, by the village of Kumarakom on the banks of the Vembanad lake. It is surrounded by paddy fields planted in a flat area by the lake. This area is geographically called a Kuttanad. Most of the paddy fields were reclaimed from the Vembanad Lake during the British colonial era for increased food production. In order to make the reclamation possible, a number of narrow canals were built. Today the area forms part of village life. The island also lies between 2 tributaries of the main river Meenachil. The international airport is 180 km away. The town centre, a train station and a bus station are some 15 km away. The towns of Kottayam and Cochin are 78 km away. The main railway station is located 60 km from the hotel.

The resort has a lift and features 50 rooms. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions.     From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how seamlessly the hotel blended into the most beautiful backwaters. The setting is extraordinary — calm, lush, and so naturally integrated that it feels as though the hotel is part of the landscape itself. The grounds are stunning to walk around, full of greenery, water views, and peaceful pathways that make you slow down and savour the surroundings.The buffet breakfasts and dinners were very good, with plenty of variety and consistently well‑prepared dishes that made each meal enjoyable.The hotel also excelled in its entertainment. Evenings came alive with brilliant live music and dancers, creating a warm and festive atmosphere. The free sunset boat ride was another standout — peaceful, scenic, and a perfect way to experience the backwaters at their most magical.One of the most charming touches was the afternoon chai, delivered on a traditional little boat along with lovely hot snacks. It was such a thoughtful, memorable detail and quickly became something we looked forward to each day.There was also plenty to do around the property. Activities ranged from pottery sessions and bird watching to meditation, butterfly tours, and even opportunities to see turtles. It added a wonderful sense of variety and discovery to our stay.The staff throughout the hotel were exceptional — warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay perfect. A particular highlight was how wonderfully they cared for our mum. She has specific dietary requirements, and the team handled them with such thoughtfulness. The chef personally spent time with her to understand what she could eat and what she’d enjoy, and the meals he created were not only safe for her but absolutely delicious. That level of care meant the world to us.We left feeling rested, cared for, and deeply appreciative.     Amazing Eco Resort

    Wonderful stay of 2 nights and wish longer. Lovely grounds with many birds and plants. Naturalist Praleesh gave us a wonderful tour and explained about all the eco friendly things this resort does. Also, taught us many things about butterfly's, birds, and plants. We had 2 spa treatments. The 4 handed massage amazing. Had good food at the bar prawns and Samosa and enjoyed talking to friendly bartenders. Highly recommend.     Refreshing and a Wow Experience

    We visited this resort in September 2025. The location is awesome with the huge Vembanad Lake as a viewpoint. The most inspiring fact here was the efforts taken by the service and support staff to maintain sustainability and and an eco-friendly environment. We had a villa with a swimming pool with a view of a pond filled with lillies on one side and a view of Vembanad Lake on the other side. our day was filled with exploring activities with a guided tour with Naturalist Vishnu about the eco-friendly aspects of solar and biogas plant followed by a tour by Naturalist Anjana in the butterfly garden. We also tried pottery and made a few pots.The sunset cruise was a first time experience for us and a must trip. The resort offers a personalised boat trip which sets off early morning, would recommend everyone to try it once , Naturalist Prateesh made sure to make this trip memorable explaining every single bird, we also got to see the daily lives of people in this region with paddy fields on one side and pink water lilies filling the backwaters on the other.Food was good including the local cuisine , Chef Sandhwana always making sure if the food was ok and the housekeeping staff were quick to respond to any of our needs. Overall a lovely trip to remember and good place to take a pause and would love to visit again.     Fantastic location on the backwaters near Kumarakom, KeralaAuthentic South Indian food was delicious and the wait staff friendly and helpful.We had a Heritage Bungalow by the water which was lovely with a gorgeous outside bathroomThere is a full programme of activities; we particularly enjoyed the slide show about Lake Vembanad and visit to the butterfly garden accompanied by a knowledgeable guide.We took yoga classes in the morning with Naveen a very well read and cultured gentleman who enlightened us about Indian philosophy and culture as well as meditation in the evening.     Magical stay in pure paradise

    From the arrival on the boat to the musical welcome and warmth of the staff to the incredibly beautiful setting lagoon side perfect for sunsets - Coconut Lagoon is a slice of paradise.The staff are incredible. Special mention to a wonderful yoga and mediation class by the spiritual Naveen - was truly inspiring! So refreshing to have someone so knowledgeable about yoga andits philosophy!!Pratheesh the naturalist was so insightful in identifying the many birds and taking us on brilliant bike and boat rides. We learnt so much!Finally the cooking staff were amazing adapting to cooking on wood due to the shortage of LPG whilst the food was so delicious!!
