  Break-in during a school trip – professional staff, but serious safety concerns

  During a school trip to Naples in March 2026, where I was accompanying a group as a teacher, I unfortunately experienced a serious incident.On the evening of our arrival, my hotel room was broken into while I was briefly absent. When I returned, the room had been searched and several personal belongings, including a laptop, had been stolen.The room had been properly locked, and according to information provided by the hotel, it appears that access was gained using a duplicate key card.I would like to highlight that the hotel staff reacted professionally, assisted in contacting the police, and provided me with a new room. The breakfast was also very good, and the room itself was clean and functional, although quite basic.However, the incident is very concerning, especially as it happened shortly after check-in. I would strongly recommend that guests take extra care of their belongings.The surrounding area also did not feel very safe, particularly when using public transport, and may not be suitable for families or student groups.I am sharing this experience so that others can make an informed decision.

  This was first of 2 hotels we stayed in while visiting Naples. If you want the bare minimal, this hotel will work fine. If you are staying with your family and plan to walk, do not stay here. The area is all industrial. Taxi into town can be under 20 euro. The hotel is within walking distance from a metro. Staff was not very helpful when it came to any help, besides ordering a taxi. It appears the hotel has been under construction for quite a few years. No restaurant or bar as stated on Expedia. There is a restaurant in the hotel across the alley, that is associated with Hotel Tiempo. I would not recommend. Our food was served cold. We sent back our almost full plates, no one asked why. I do not trust receiving replacement food, we decided to not go back. There are signs all over the hotel that say you can not bring in any food from another source. No take-away food allowed. I understand it's you have a rodent or insect problem to not allow other food in, but they offer room service. If you do not want anyone in your room and put the sign up to not have your room made up, they come in anyway. I assume to be sure you do not bring in any food from another restaurant. The next hotel we stayed at was a little more expensive but 100% better with everything. I would recommend Hotel Vergilius Billia. Pleasant staff, better location, better accommodations, and great food. Restaurant and bar attached to the hotel. Hopefully this will help others not make the same mistake we did.   Hotel Tiempo staff are lovely .

  Lovely clean hotel ,staff are great ,breakfast is good .dont be put off by reviews saying the area is unsafe ,its a little industrial but its absolutely fine ,we never saw any trouble at all.The station is 5 mins walk away and it takes 3 minutes to get to the centre. We would definitely stay here again .

  A very satisfying place to stay

  Wholeheartedly I would award the hotel 5 star because it was just what I was looking for,during a 5 day stay with my group. The staff were brilliant,nothing was too much trouble. Any problem/fault which I reported,was immediately dealt with.Furthermore the room was clean and spacious and for a little extra a double/twin room with a balcony was well worth it! The daily room maid service was efficient,towels were changed regularly.The breakfast was fine;they catered for all tastes: rolls,bread,croissants, pain au chocolates,cakes,ham,cheese,scrambled eggs,cereal,yogurt etcEven though it was not situated in the heart of Naples you could take a taxi or walk to the Metro(Line 2)to Piazza Garibaldi and be there in 10 minutes.There is a free hourly courtesy bus into the centre but it only operates in the evening. Maybe it should be available during the day too?All in all a very satisfying place to stay and well worth its modest 3 star status.

  Very pleasant stay

  The hotel was spotless. Breakfast was well managed and had a good choice. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Special shout out for Giorgio who couldn't do enough for us. It was only a short walk to the train station to take us to the city centre. I would recommend this hotel.
