  Avoid and keep your money

  I don't generally write reviews unless they a praising places, destinations or people. However, given the circumstances and what has occurred I wouldn't want others to go through the same thing. AVOID unless it is FREE! Even then you will still want your money back. The place looks nice and is well dressed for the pictures you see. However, the smell from the vacant block next to the huts and the stream on the backend produce a horrible smell. It is almost like camping near a rubbish dump. Also, I am all for nature to be nature and for animals to live as intended but when they can fly into your bathroom when everything is locked. You then have an added disturbance to your stay and attempted sleep.

  What a lovely stay in this lovely boutique hotel!

  The minute you enter the villa, you feel like you enter an oasis surrounded by beautiful frangipani trees and other plants. We were greeted by a lovely staff who helped us with our heavy luggages. The hotel have 8 bungalows. Each bungalows has a living area at the bottomand a bedroom upstairs. I love the living area, where we can relax on the comfy daybed. There are few restaurants walking distance from the hotel which is practical. I suggest rent a scooter to go around because it’s much more convenient to go to the beach and other places. Overall we like this hotel and will definitely come back again!

  Horrible - Don't think a more uncomfortable place exists in Seminyak

  The pictures are all that is good about this place. There is no fan and the air-conditioning is very poor as there are many gaps in the wooden planks in the room. Also there is 0 sound-proofing so you can hear everyone and everything that goes on within the property as well as the road outside. The entire unit literally shakes every time someone moves, whether it is you going to the bathroom or the person in the next bungalow climbing the stairs.There is no water in the bathroom most of the times, so be prepared to be sitting on the pot just to find no water coming when you're done with your business - the number listed on Google calls the spa and they would suggest you to go down to talk to the staff for the same. Imagine having this conversation in the middle of a bath or poop 😑The room cleaning service is hardly any cleaning, they just make the bed without even changing the sheets once I'm 3-4 days. The staff office is locked up most part of the day so it's a task to find someone to fix things whenever there is a problem.

  This is the second time I have stayed at the Alila and it never disappoints. The service is impeccable, the hotel and rooms are beautiful and clean. We had access to a private pool that is shared only with customers in our block of rooms. But the best pool is definitely the adults only pool - Quiet and has the most stunning infinity pool that overlooks the ocean. The food at Sea Salt Restuarant is amazing. We had the 5 Hours Steamed Octopus "Tentacle" which was tender and delicious, the Gyu Niku Rolled Sirloin with flavours of Japan and Beef Blue Swimmer Crab Tartare - yum! The breakfast buffet is the best I have seen. I’ll definitely be back!
