  I am well-travelled and have stayed at many hotels around the world. It is no exaggeration to say that the Aston Canggu is one of my favourite. Having experienced exceptional customer service at the Aston Canggu in September, I returned again in May knowing that I would well looked after, and I was not disappointed. All of the staff at this hotel go above and beyond when it comes to providing excellent customer service. Nothing is too much trouble. The attentive staff provide customer service to a standard that would rival any luxury hotel in the world. The atmosphere at the Aston is professional and polite, yet somehow informal and engaging. The service is not forced politeness, but warm and genuine.The reception staff are fantastic and respond quickly to requests or questions. I had travel concerns which may have affected my visit. Sintya not only allayed my fears but ensured that I had flexible contingent options.The location of the hotel is ideal for people wishing to party. It is a short walk from Mexicola, Old Mans, The Sandbar, and XBR across the road. For those who don’t want to party the rooms are well soundproofed, and as a light sleeper I have never had any issue getting a good night’s sleep. The hotel is located close to The Lawn Beach Club, which has pleasant chill vibes and there are many nice restaurants nearby such as Masonry, Luma, Penny Lane, and many others. There is a mini mart immediately opposite the hotel which is useful for everyday essential items. Upon arrival, once again I was greeted with complimentary cake, fruit, and a handwritten welcome note. It is these small and caring personal details which sets the Aston apart from other hotels. Once again, I also received multiple room key cards, meaning that you can leave the air conditioning on when you leave the room. The room was spotlessly clean as it had been on my first visit. Dewa and the cleaning staff do an excellent job of cleaning the room and it is hard not to smile when returning to a perfectly made bed, fresh towels and water. They even carefully coiled my phone charging cable. The attention to detail is incredible. I would encourage all guests to leave a tip for the cleaning staff to show gratitude. All of the hotel staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Some memorable names and faces on my visit include Wira, Angel, Tara, Wayan, Eta, Wahyu, Deni, Arya and Ayu but this should not exclude the recognition of the rest of the staff whose names I cannot remember.The rooftop restaurant, pool and bar area feels like a hidden oasis, away from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets of Canggu. It feels like a secret retreat. The drink options are excellent, and happy hour runs from around 12 pm onwards, providing excellent value for money on impressively made cocktails. The food is also very reasonably priced and the breakfast selection is extensive, ranging from a plethora of savoury options, cooked to order omelettes to fruit, pastries and sweet options. There is tea, coffee and fresh fruit juices.The service at the bar in the lobby echoes the friendly service on the rooftop, and it was great to sample some of the promotional drinks and cocktails run by the staff in front of the hotel during my visit. Their charismatic enthusiasm was infectious. The hotel gym has everything you need to keep in shape and is beautifully air conditioned. It is close to the rooftop bar, allowing you fast access to a refreshing fruit smoothie after a workout. The roof top pool is clean and well maintained. During my 2 stays it has never been too busy to find a sunbed.I enjoyed my second stay at this hotel as much as the first time, and I highly recommend this hotel to everyone.   Location is good for the beach and nightlife. However the noise from the surrounding bars is very loud and goes on late. Staff are very good. Hotel needs a little TLC but it’s very good value. My original booking had to be cancelled due to the war but they dealt with it superbly and gave a full refund immediately with no hassle.
